I only slept 4 hours last night and I was going to skip my workout, but the words in the beginning gave me the inspiration I needed to get it in. Thank you
"FELLASSSS!!!" You are bang on the money with this review AC! I received this fragrance last night and the initial spray scared me off but give it time and it transforms into a beautiful scent. Another top notch review sir!
One of my top 3 favorite scents of all time. I remember you saying once you did Not like it so seeing you’ve come around to enjoying it makes me very happy. I trust your nose more than almost anyone.
I have had this gem for a while now and it is a wonder. I found the neroli to be overpowering in the summer heat so suggest 1-2 sprays only around the neck. Also, there's a certain sweetness that develops deep in the dry down which i quite enjoy.
This finally arrived eight weeks after I ordered it blind. Wow, amazing! Reminds me of Prada Amber minus the date night vibe. Might be in my top three + very versatile. I didn’t get any of the repulsive opening vibe. Thanks for the rec!
Top shelf review A.C. always so thorough and your background and historical inclusion of the fragrance second to none. Love this fragrance. In fact this house is one that I have collected considerably. Thoroughly enjoy their offerings. Essenza is definitely for someone who can appreciate a mature well crafted and blended cologne. 👌👌
Finally, I’ve been waiting for you to review this one, AC! This is absolutely my favorite from the house! When I smell the dry down, it’s an instant love. Surprisingly, my 25 y.o girlfriend really like this one on me while not liking my other classic fragrances. This is one fragrance that she always complimented on. Love it! Thank you for the wonderful video, AC!
Another wonderful review! I recently tried this fragrance for the first time. Unlike you I liked it straight away. It reminded me of Monsieur de Givenchy, which is one of my all time favourites.
This is probably my favorite fragrance ever. The best phase of this fragrance is the mesmerising floral, soapy dry down, it's one of the best smells ever. I'm convinced i've smelt this aroma on random women in the nineties and early two thousands , but after testing MANY fragrances from the nineties , none of them were near good .So , if you know a perfume that shares similarties with this fragrance , please let me know.
Great review as always AC! Purchased this based off your review and absolutely love it. Your descriptions never cease to amaze me. Besides a "Top Fall Designer/Niche List" video that's coming, I'm sure many of us would love a video about your opinions on: Amouage, it's new flanker releases (Reflection 45, Honor Woman 43, and Epic Woman 56), and what they can do to improve as nothing is ever perfect. As always, stay safe and keep up the great work AC 👍 - Jose from San Diego
Thanks for the stellar review. I remember back when you remarked that Essenze smelled like Neroli Portifino; during a wearing it just struck me and I had a good chuckle. Of course the performance and prominent petit grain, LOV, clove - all among my fav notes - create differences. The performance is perfect; the prodigious longevity almost doesn't make sense. So glad to have this in my collection and hear your take. Always watching and liking. Pledge to offer more comments to help the algorithm. Cheers.
What you call "screechy", I savor. I am reminded of Thanksgiving and my grandmothers homemade relish: tart fresh mottled cranberries mixed with grated lemon and orange zest marinated in sugar. Combine that with the sage and herbs from the turkey and cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg from the pumpkin pie. Delicious and only offered one special day of the year.
Thanks for the review, AC. I enjoy this one too. Maybe not as much as you but I’m definitely considering repurchasing it now that my bottle of Intensa is empty.
I just had the pleasure of experiencing this fragrance at Disney World over the weekend, and I immediately fell in love. A few years ago, I would not have appreciated it, so I wholeheartedly agree with you here AC, it's definitely for the late 30s (at least) and up crowd. I ended up purchasing a bottle of the limited edition Bergamatto di Calabria instead, but my next Acqua di Parma purchase will definitely be this one. As always, a spot on review!
The fragrance is amazing and you are so amazing when you describe everything about fragrances,, love u man 😊👍 I just tried clonia lether today, very butiful sent 👌💗
I was waiting for a long time for this review… What an amazing review for a master piece fragrance…. I sprayed it on my wrist, played the video and listened to your description on how it changes and develop on my skin….that was an enjoyable trip Sir….now I can understand clearly why I loved it so much Thank you
Hi AC, another great review and your honesty is really appreciated. For me, this fragrance was love from first sniff LOL totally the opposite of you.... I LOVE this fragrance!
@@jOr2187 only from the wife and she is a hard crowd to please when it comes to scents. I don’t wear things for compliments anyways, I wear them because I like them
Hello AC. I am a big fan of your channel. Only a matter of time until you get your own fragrance out in the market. I discovered this when I went to Rome in 2016. This is my daily signature scent from spring to autumn. Versatile & awesome. In your video ‘top 10 classy & elegant fragrances’ you said you can wear this 12 months a year. Do you still stand by that because in this video you said spring to autumn??? Nonetheless my current winter cologne is Quercia by the same brand again recommended by you in one of your videos so I acted upon it. Would you recommend something better than Quercia? Perhaps from a different brand to wear in winter or would you say Quercia has hit the nail on the head. I love ADP citrus openings. Also knowing what you know about me, what date height fragrance would you recommend? I prefer citrus over sweet. I’m in my mid 30’s and I don’t go clubs. Thanks in advance & God bless. Parminder.
Your descriptions are so vivid and picturesque! Could you please dig into the Chanel Les Exclusifs line a little bit more? E.g. would love to hear your take on Boy/1957/Bois des Iles/...
I believe the last time i tried a decant of this fragrance, it was in the cooler weather. Would you say that this fragrance is a lot more noticeable in the warmer/humid weather?
Great to hear that, I hope you like it, because this is a superb warm weather fragrance, infact its quite versatile and you could wear this in any weather.
I enjoyed your review very much AC however I'm completely the other way to you as I love love love the opening but find the dry down a little boring and too soapy, because I love the opening and not the dry down I don't feel this is for me. If you love barber shop frags which Essenza is in my opinion then Id recommend Tom Ford, Beau D Jour which also has a screechy opening which i don't mind but this is a beautiful classic barber shop but if you love a bargain Davidoff Zino (AC I'd love to see your review of this) which very similar to the Tom Ford but less screechy in the opening but very long lasting and under £20 what's not to love. keep up the good work.
if you like BdJ I would recommend you watch my reviews of the PB ( which is a brilliant fusion of barbershop and Chypre) and the signature line. If you like Zino try PS fine cologne, it has even better performance than Zino.
Nearly choking on those first few sprays 😄 Too true about that opening AC. Really in your face stuff. I recall Claire and a few others referencing bug spray and I can totally see it. For me, it's straight up bitter yellow and green soap with a dark barbershop finish. So good. Almairac's genius. My favourite from AdP, even over Intensa, which has such poor performance that it needs to be sprayed exclusively on clothing. Incidentally, my mother also hates this one. Probably another reason why I love it so much. 🤣 Sotd, Dunhill for men - another vintage barbershop goodie.
AC, Enjoyed the review, as opening is important for me i will try first.. I blind bought ADP Fico di Amalfi fresh high quality hand made soap vibe too for me.. Have you tried it? If yes please review.
I'm not sure I'm as repulsed by the opening, but it is a very soap/barbershop/ intense upfront experience. Great break down! The overwhelming sensation for me after a fair few minutes is just an incredibly clean, masculine scent!

I also love how described it's performance performs like an EDP! Absolutely right, and again stunning review AC!
Excellent review! This is one of the best reviews I have seen any reviewer do for any fragrance. This was a work of art as well!
10 out of 10
Great review you articulated the smell of this fragrance perfectly.
I have had this gem for a while now and it is a wonder. I found the neroli to be overpowering in the summer heat so suggest 1-2 sprays only around the neck. Also, there's a certain sweetness that develops deep in the dry down which i quite enjoy.

One of my favorites. The rose note in particular is beautiful. Essenza, Sartorial and Rive Gauche are my Holly Trinity.
three really nice masculines :)
Going to try them, thanks for your input.

Hello AC. I am not normally a clove person but, I really like this one. I think it just rounds it out. Thanks for the video and be safe.

yeah, I find the opening quite screechy and harsh but I still love it. Enjoyed reading your memories of your grandmother's home made relish.
Looking sharp AC 👌 Top notch review of a top notch fragrance

Nice review I’m on my second bottle in 9 months. Really good review I wish my nose could identify the scents like yours.
Do other people recognize it on you? Or is it too weak?

Definitely will be doing that soon.

Salute you from India.....
Thank you Chandra, I get a lot of love from India :)
I don't really understand why so many ADP cologne's seem to match, or nearly match, the lasting time of many of my EDT's and even some EDP's.
Anyone picked up on this being super similar to Penhaligon's Castile?
I hated it too. In the summer it smelled fruity. Very odd. I love it now.
haha I am glad I grew to love it :)

AC, Enjoyed the review, as opening is important for me i will try first.. I blind bought ADP Fico di Amalfi fresh high quality hand made soap vibe too for me.. Have you tried it? If yes please review.
Thank you Himanshu. I tried Fico but it went girly on me, so I never tried it again. I will see if I can get a sample of it.
This reminds me of Prada Amber pour homme. Anyone else ?
…lovely shirt AC…
Thank you James.
I must get some
well worth it.

How do you like it?
AC, could you please review AdP Oud & Spice?
I will see what I can do.

👍
Is it similar to rasasi’s borruz Indonesia?
o not at all. They are very different fragrances.

I'm not sure I'm as repulsed by the opening, but it is a very soap/barbershop/ intense upfront experience. Great break down!

Hit the nail on the head. If you’re under 40, stay away: check out colonia intensa instead.

Very Soon :)

Another great maxim. Acqua di Parma or Guerlain is click-bait to me.
thank you, glad you enjoyed the quote.
Opening is too much spicy, soapy. While I enjoy Essenza, I like Intensa way more.
yeah I see that.
Lool repulsive to start off with I like old school scents but I will pass.
