I got this for £78 uk. What a shoe it is too! Far more than a Tempo only shoe. Accommodates my wide foot well as there are no overlays to stop the fabric giving where needed.
can you please compare the novablast to this vanish tempo? Also, how does EGO Pro compare to the regular FF Blast (not FF Blast+) Would you say that the vanish tempos conserve one's energy because of the rockered design, or no?
The key difference is the zero drop and the foam. While the EGO Pro foam is more energetic than FF Blast I would choose the Novablast 4 and its + foam and higher drop of 8mm for training.
@@RoadTrailRun are you saying that for you its a better feeling to have a drop for a daily trainer instead of zero drop? The lowest drop of running shoe i have is 5mm and havent really experienced 0drop
@@yuree08 I personally mix drops from 0-10 with these days not to often zero drop. A mix of drops works the legs and feet differently and is a good thing in my view
how much would a 10 weight in grams? why did they use a softer outter and front upper mesh indeed which sacrifices stability for tempo/training/casual ride, i guess maybe more comfort orient since that's what other parts of the shoe is designed into? but is it at least thicker so it meets the other part of the promise of this package being less "single use" than the race carbon offer? they could have also put in more coverage at the midfoot but maybe that adds tooling cost. i'm hoping the collar and upper changes are worth enough for a double purchase. since there a lot more new offerings to consider it also bloats the purchases of a diehard fan all together. personally i would have liked more do-it-all offerings with zero compromises instead of making too many models each at not so spectacular msrp anyways
US10 weighs 278 g (it's not true to size, though). The shoe is incredibly stable and the outsole will last a long time (a lot of rubber, unlike the foam on the carbon version). The upper is not mesh, it's fabric with very little give. The only thing I dislike about the shoe is the tongue, but I've never liked flat tongues.
Gr review. The Rivera was to narrow for me in the midfoot.. Is this wider? The midsole sounds and looks a bit like the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite midsole?
Softer mesh here and more midfoot room my sense than Rivera 2 and also due to mesh toe box room as well. Not quite as soft as Nitro Elite foam more like that than say PWRRUN PB or Lightstrike Pro
I wear the wide Altra shoes , and actually this new model that says it’s narrow is not really narrow in the toe box , I would say it’s on par with the Toren as far as toe box feels , nothing like the skinny Rivera just my 2 cents
That tongue looks errily like the torin 5 that was basically rawhide. Any issues with it cutting into your ankle during flexion? I miss their Quantic outsole and find ego concrete compared. Interested how the "pro" version feels. I'm still baffled they switched it out
@@RoadTrailRun most shoes out there have caused issues with my lateral ankle bones, such as Nike Invincible, New Balance..& I have to mod them a bit. I've found that Altra Riverra 2, Torin 5, some of the Saucony's & Asics's shoes dont rub my ankle bones (or gently rub but no blisters). Thanks.
@@RoadTrailRun Hi, btw, I tried on the Escalante 3 size 10.5 US & had no rubbing issue with its ankle collar. So, I may be able to wear the Vanish Tempo in 10.5 US as well? I have to double check before purchasing it because it's gonna be imported, & I wont be able to return the shoe... Thanks
Good shoe. I use them as a daily trainer. The price is now 170$.
Have a pair on preorder, excited to see that delivery truck soon👍
Thank you for criticizing the price. I would try this shoe at $160 but not at $190
big deal 30 bucks ,,,i wanna see it at 99
@@soofitnsexy was just about to say something like this too. 99-110 maybe.

I have both and this tempo is far better for me than the nova .. I have 30+ pairs of super trainers and this is top 3, some days maybe number 1..
Altra seems to be great for hiking and trail running. But I think they have still a lot to learn when it comes to road running.
Not with those shoe, it’s absolutely fantastic

No issues but won’t be wearing low no show socks.
Quantic was OK but this midsole foam is far far superior in energy and cushion
Hi, I have low lateral ankle bones. Would I have problem with this rather high ankle collar?
Thank you!
Not sure. What shoes have causes issues with your ankle bone? The collar is actually highest right around lace up

If anything, tongue is too short. You’re not using all the eyelets or the runners knot.
That’s a bit steep for a daily trainer.
It is for sure but it is a special ride
Even as an Altra fanboy the $190 price tag is a complete non-starter.
Nordstrom rack had them for $99.97 in my size. Steal
