I bought the part from a local dealer for 25 bucks (in case I cannot reuse my current one after taking it out and cleaning it, I do think it needs to be replaced however). I'm going to try this soon and I hope to report back good news. I may end up buying a second to hold on to in case these become hard to find one day. While there are many VWs who use this part this apparently is a very common issue.
I am having a light breaking sensation sometimes while driving, and I was told by a mechanic that it is my electronic break. Would replacing this fix it? Or would it be something that needs to be fixed under the car?

Why do you keep pushing that little ledge after you’ve removed it? Do you have to push that in to get it out please? Thank you
I am pushing the ledge to demonstrate what you need to push against when the switch is installed to get it out.
But first check out inside the button!!! Mine had an obstruction because fall in some little piece of toothpick
got a new aftermarket switch, but it doesnt seem to work, it keeps giving me and error, cant sync with the car. anyone got any idea?
