I was primary shortstop for both of my last to teams and I think I'm gonna be primary shortstop on my new team and I am neither the best athlete nor am I the coaches son. It isn't always about athleticism it's about refining your mechanics, being prepared for any play, being aware of the situation, and being a good communicator.
The last time I played catcher before I changed sports I got to throw off the first pitch and I got a memorial after the game for 7 years of work from 4-12 now I play lacrosse
As a person that is always behind the plate having a baseball thrown at u at like 70mph and having to block it so yeah I would say u have to be the toughest
I’m a catcher, and yes, it’s very true. My 2nd year catching I kept on getting hit in my left thumb, and now I can move it all the way down, about a 180 degree angle.

Ngl this is precisely accurate our 1b is the tallest and lefty and cf has a magnet in his glove and is really short with midget legs but still the fastest and never misses amd catcher is crazy thought and loves getting beat up and hurting bc he wrestles amd get #3 in state
