Where I live we'd call those wave 4ft, overhead.
Usually breaking waves are higher than the swell...

Those conditions were actually fairly poor for Skeleton Bay. Those waves were chandeliering and closing out. Go watch some Koa Smith videos where he goes when it's perfect conditions.

This is the best video of this place I've seen. I love the POV mouthcam videos but after a while all the waves look the same. This really shows the power and beauty of this awesome place and the variety of how the waves look. The difficulty of riding this wave is amazing no matter how you look at it.

Haveing had the experience there, I'd love to see you come back and do it again and somehow capture more of the stoke, fatigue and physical challenge that it is to surf that place without assistance....

20ft? I see Jamie went to the Poopies Carlsbad scale of judging waves for this trip. Don't get me wrong, it was maxxed out and the sand bar could barely handle that size.
20 foot? must be a typo or I will start telling the girls my package is 2 feet long.
Crap SB. Been there & didn't go out as longest barrel made was 4 seconds with 90% closing out. And carpark was littered with dozens of broken boards. It is either on or off, and often off as the wind rarely works without a bump. One horse town, nothing to do, isolated. BUT amazingly the local surfers are a bunch of great helpful guys, unlike most of the surfzoos in the world. Namibians are cool!

@@smalltowninnewmexicofinally got around to watching the video and that's probably the worst footage I've ever seen from that place. I don't even know if they got out in the water because they always put a name on it when it's one of the crew or job and I never saw that. A lot of smaller waves and like you said, nobody was making them. I expected some killer POV footage from in the barrel. I think he knows this wasn't good footage, I don't think I've ever seen one where he doesn't say anything at the end of it. Probably the worst of vlog I've ever seen JOB put out. I haven't seen barley's footage because he takes a long time to do his production before he releases a vlog, but I have seen a few clips and he scores hard like he always does there. Oh well, we all have our down days

@@tjtsanadis that place is remarkable indeed. I would advise you to check out Brett barley's life on water vlog. He'll be coming out with one from this well, as I have only seen a clip so far. He has ones from the past with some really sick POV shots from inside the barrel where you see exactly how ridiculously long those barrels can be. Koa Smith has good footage and I have seen footage from others that I just can't recall right now. I'm sure hey RUclips or Google search will bring up some more impressive footage, and I say that because the conditions have been far better than this and POV footage from this place is just unbelievable. I think Jamie has the ability to school this way unlike many people can and I was sure looking forward to seeing him kill it. Instead we didn't see him at all. Maybe there will be another episode. I think they just didn't get it right. Usually the beach isn't flooded so hard. That allows people to ride really long waves and then get driven back up the point instead of walking a mile up the beach. Look up shootout at skeleton Bay, it just came out over a week ago. Not the biggest skeleton bay about some perfect action and barrels along with some great overhead shots
