Best explanation on RUclips of how to reset the service indicator light. Thanks for your time and patience ensuring that we don't make mistakes. Well Done Vince!
Wow ! Please, Please, see this video to the end. I was traying to reset our GLK 350 following every other RUclips explanations. This guy saved me from going around the bend. Thanks Vince
Thank you for this! My usual garage did the MOT on my 2011 C-class, but as I'd only done 2,000 miles in the year I didn't want the service. They didn't know how to reset it and it's been driving me nuts for 3-months. You've made it so clear, and with the 'common mistakes' bit it's the most helpful video I think I've ever seen. Thank you.
I went through 2 other darned videos that said hold both buttons down simultaneously, with obvious very frustrating failures. Its terrible when you follow instructions with bad results. Yours was the only one to explain the fraction of a second delay...I couldn't believe it when I saw the proper screen come up! Felt like a miracle! Thank you so much....old American saying" The devil is in the details"!
Thank you so much for this my wife had the service done at Mercedes Chester with the warning showing after the service . Three phone calls later and no response I did it with your help. My wife and I are speaking again. I am 78 and found your video very clear. Many thanks.
Excellent. Thanks. I had done this some years ago on my ML350, and then more recently I could just not get it into the menu. Now, I see what could have gone wrong. The error analysis is very good.
Worked fine on a 2013 B-class, after the mechanic once again forgot to do this after maintenance. Makes one wonder what else they forget. Thanks for the video!
Worked for me on my W246 B class. The car has covered 9780 miles from new, Mercedes main dealer quoted £880 ! to service the car....genuine parts cost me £33. This car is so quick and easy to service, so saved myself a cool £850. Thanks Vince.
Thanks for this great video. I have a 2012 CL63 AMG. All of the other instructional videos were confusing and didn't work for me. After watching your video I was able to reset on the 1st try. Thanks again! :)
It is a great video and gets straight to the point on resetting the service indicator.....however, for those of us with W204's built for sale in the US, you DO have to have the driver's door closed or the procedure will not work. Tried and tested several times with door closed and open, 100% success/failure rate respectively
Thank you so much, after many trials on my 2013 GLK 350, I watched your video, and the mistake was pressing the call button and the ok button too far apart. Thanks for that observation. It worked on my car. I got the reset once I followed your instructions.
Thanks for the clarity. I was turning the key to full accessory and getting "reset trip" every time. Turned key to first position and worked perfectly first time..
WOW!! I took my car to have it serviced somewhere besides the dealer and the mechanic could not figure out how to do it. I had very little trouble after watching this video. I just wrote every step down and it worked like a charm. Thank you so much.
TOP MAN out of all the videos on you tube you are the only one that has mentioned you need to have it in the mileage bit and " nothing else"! NOT the MPH reading I have been messing around for ages and it wouldn't work till I seen your video THANK YOU!!!! PS works no the 2015 220 cdi
Excellent and concise information that actually accomplishes the mission! I tried some other methods listed through the internet to reset the irritating 2012 C250 "B9" service reminder (which had already been done by a competent garage), but none of them worked. By the way, lad, you remind me of a friend of my wife (she's English) and mine who lives outside of London - so you also inspired us to visit our friends there in 2023! Cheers and all the best!
On a C180 (2010 model), this works fine but you have to hit the left button and highlight the TRIP option then follow the above instructions. Great vid :)
Got to add my thanks I had my timings wrong so your handy guide about the myths at the end was perfect for me No longer got the annoying service interval reminder showing 👍🏼
Absolutely awesome video to answer the questions surrounding the fine details on how to reset the maintenance reminders. 2014 e class worked perfectly. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for this video. My son did the service on my car and when I took my car to go get the service notification off they were going to charge me $75. I'm not opposed to paying for anything that needs to be fixed but charging me $75 for something that literally took me less than 5 minutes to do. Thank you yet again 😊.
Awesome detailed explanation on the "when to hit the OK button", I'm sure this could be frustrating for people that go by the "press it a second later" when that clearly doesn't work!
I’ve just done it. And it works!!!! This is what youtube was invented for!!! 👍🏽 Proper clear and a British dude!!! Thank God!!! I have a need C220 2013 plate. Thanks dude.
Oh. My. Heavens! Finally, I got it. Same scenario as you described. I got it right by accident before, but just spent a ton of time trying to get it without any success. I followed your instructions; BINGO! Got it the first time! Thank you so much for sharing this, and sharing the wrong methods, which were oh so familiar to me! Cheers!
Great tip....I did the exact same thing. I had to figure it out by just retrying it and I just got lucky. I wish I had seen this video 10 minutes ago. I got back from resetting my service light and I saw your video running after I had another video telling me how to reset it.
Perfect. Thank you. The millisecond wait between pressing Phone and OK is crucial as you said. I watched another vid before this one and the fella didn't mention the millisecond wait. I was waiting too long (1/2 sec?) and kept getting the ODO reset question. It was driving me nuts. You fixed that!
Thanks mate! best how to video for resetting, worked perfect on my 2013 GLK350 4matic. like you previously I've spent over 1/2 hour to figure out the reset. have great day
Thank u so much !! I tried other videos all failed. Only ur one got the most details and working:) I don’t knw why it just kept asking me go services every 6 months , so frequent !
Tried about ten times with the door open without success. Closed the door and it worked first time. Might have been luck or something else. Thanks for the help!
Thanks so much you rule!! I used this on my GLK 350 and it worked great! Really appreciate you taking the time to put this up as I have spent a lot of time screwing with this in the past! Thx again!
Confirmed! Worked for my 2013 C63 AMG Coupe moments ago. My display had said "Service B0" due (I had "A1" performed 12 months ago). I have one free maintenance left on my CPO, but since I've only put 2,373 miles on in the past 12 months, I chose to skip the "B0" this time. After resetting the service, I went into "Service Data", which displayed "Workshop Code: D0D; Service Code: A1; Remaining Time: +365 days; Remaining Dist.: +10000 mi; Oil Data Record: 02 00 2E".
2011 e350 cabriolet - Timing is everything. Too quick on the sequence, and nothing happens. Too slow, and you get the odometer reset. But in between, it work like a charm. Thanks for the video!
I tried the other videos and I always come up with "Reset odometer" and I was really getting frustrated. This video explained it very well. That split second between the "call button" and the "OK" button made the difference. It worked and I was able to reset the service indicator light. Thank you very much.
Thank you for taking the time to explain how important the timing is on this.I almost lost my mind LOL.Note: This works for E-Class E350 2014-2015 Models. At list on my 2015 worked, I am assuming 2014 is the same.Take care.
This worked perfectly for my 2015 ML250 Bluetec which I imported to France from the US thus voiding my warranty and requiring me to do my own oil changes. Ahem...... Thanks for the great tip and explaining it in very clear terms.
Good job showing the pitfalls. BTW, some models (like my 350 BT 2012) require the driver door to be shut otherwise it complains about the door being open. Thank you so much.
I agree Ronnie. Love my C Class......same model as well. I'm loving the tips provided by people like "my mate vince" Thank you. I just need to find a video that covers the oil change and the tool needed. Dealers are a rip off just for a basic service.
carried out a B5 service on my 2015 CLS, reset software service data, but Inst Cluster still showed B5 service due, used your method of reset, all good. Thanks
On my girlfriend's US-market '14 C250 automatic, I *did* have to close the door in order to complete the procedure. With the key in the ignition and the door open, the instrument cluster display shows "Please remove your key from the ignition" (or words to that effect) and won't let me do anything at all. That message is shown with the key in OFF or in that first position. Once I shut the door, that message went away and I was able to use this method just fine. Thanks!
Thanks mate! I did a full service from mercedes and they forgot to reset, i was not going tot ake the car back to svc to reset this message but overdue message came , so i did reset warching ur video. ❤
Great Video, clear and correct for my 2014 E 220 - I just had it serviced at a local garage who could not reset the computer ( I may not be going there again ). They decided that because it had a few hundred miles left on it I would have to wait till they run down before I could re-set the computer. I knew that could not be correct. Thanks for the tips.
I have a 2015 ML350. First - thanks for the video. I will say I tried 3 times in a row to do this with my driver's side door open. Nothing. Closed it as an experiment and first try I got into the menu. Went back and tried 5 times with the door open. Nothing. Second time with the door closed - worked great first try.
Best video ever ! I’ve being here for some time and this video totally work ! Thank you so much for your help ! Yes press call button half second later , press ok button until it changes Magnificent great job
Thanks for that, worked for me with C200 Bluetec 2016. Except when the menu appeared it asked for the ignition to be turned on and then the menu was enabled and I could follow the steps that you outlined. Result.
Fantastic video mate, short and sweet, the Ronseal of videos, does exactly what it says on the tin. thanks for taking the time to post, worked a treat on my 2013 SLK 250 AMG. 👍👍
Actually, my 2013 did require the door to be closed to access the specific menu needed to reset the service the way to tell is when your door is open and you turn the key to the #1 position, if your system says to remove the key, then you need to close the door, then you can press buttons as described. 2013 c300
Best explanation on RUclips of how to reset the service indicator light. Thanks for your time and patience ensuring that we don't make mistakes. Well Done Vince!
Great demonstration: clear, straightforward and concise with a good camera angle and sharp video. Thanks a lot.
Thank you! Only video that shows the correct method. Everybody else skips the correct information
Wow ! Please, Please, see this video to the end. I was traying to reset our GLK 350 following every other RUclips explanations. This guy saved me from going around the bend. Thanks Vince
You are the only one who has explained it so well! I kept on seeing reset trip meter and it was sooooo frustrating 😅. Thank you so much
Thank you for this! My usual garage did the MOT on my 2011 C-class, but as I'd only done 2,000 miles in the year I didn't want the service. This is the best explanation. Just reset my C200, 2008 model. Thanks

Great explanation! Much more clear than other videos I watched first. Thank you!
Very clear tutorial. Worked perfectly fine with my 2012 C350. A big thank you from Dubai!
Thank for Your video. What was mostly important for me was named by You as "common mistakes" which I made several times since i saw this movie .
Very Easy and brilliantly explained. Thank You Vince. Worked on my 2012 ML250cdi.

I watched 10 different videos into you explained it perfectly, thank you. I did it on first try after watching your video
Got to add my thanks
I had my timings wrong so your handy guide about the myths at the end was perfect for me
No longer got the annoying service interval reminder showing 👍🏼
You're the best my mechanic couldn't do it and listening to you I did it own my own.
Am a lady thank you sir
My problem was that I was not holding the buttons down long enough for the assyst to come up.
Your explanation was excellent.
Absolutely awesome video to answer the questions surrounding the fine details on how to reset the maintenance reminders. 2014 e class worked perfectly. Thank you so much.

Worked great on my 2015 SLK250. The dealer forgot. Found out after I got home. Sure saved me a trip back to the dealer. Thanks
Thanks for the great video.. You spoke clearly and slow enough to follow. I had no problems at all. This worked on my 2012 E350..
We have the same car lol..
Thanks so much you rule!! I used this on my GLK 350 and it worked great! Really appreciate you taking the time to put this up as I have spent a lot of time screwing with this in the past! Thx again!
Thank you so much. I have been trying to do this for many weeks. It took me a few seconds to do it after watching this video !
that two fingers split second press and hold makes the difference. very helpful , thanks
This is fantastic. I was struggling with my S212 E class and kept getting the 'reset trip metr' menu. Many thanks for this.
This is the best presentation that I can easily understand.
Thank you very much.
Thanks.
Agreed.
Is there a way to reset the brake wear light
thank you!
Initial oriff
Very good to show correct ways to carry out service light reset. Best one .
Thank you.
Will this also clear the airbag light/messages? One wire in the buckle was broken, which I have already fixed.
Mine id 2014 gl450. Best presentation was doing the one second per other videos and having issues. Solve my problem. Thank you so much.
YOUR TRICK AT THE END DID IT FOR ME I WAS DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER
Just followed ur simple instructions & It worked on my ML350 2015…Thanks
Thank you Sir for honest and clear explanation. Other videos didn't tell us that little secret.

That worked great on my 2015 SLK350!! Thank you for the thorough explanation and examples!
Watched several videos understood what to do. None else said close the door.
Worked with door closed on my MB 2009 W204 C300. Thanks.

Thanks! Super easy directions. I did find, however, on my US model 2012 GLK that I needed to have the door closed for it to work.
Excellent video, perfect explanation. My issued was solved in seconds. Worked on a CLS 2013-2019 model❤

Well done. The only video where your info. actually worked. Thanks very much.
Spot on Vince. Yes, other videos that show the fix are pants. Cheers for your help
On my girlfriend's US-market '14 C250 automatic, I *did* have to close the door in order to complete the procedure. Closed it as an experiment and first try I got into the menu. Went back and tried 5 times with the door open. Nothing. Second time with the door closed - worked great first try.

Best video ever ! I’ve being here for some time and this video totally work ! Thank you so much for your help ! Yes press call button half second later , press ok button until it changes
Magnificent great job
Thanks so much for this! Worked first time on 2012 E200 (S212). My garage had tried same method but no success, will show em your method. Thank you!!
Had this on for 5 months but never bothered. Thanks for the video :)

Very straight forward and informative and easy to follow. Many thanks
Best video. Finally able to reset my 2012 ML350 Bluetec. I watched few other videos, they were precised. Ty!
Actually, my 2013 did require the door to be closed to access the specific menu needed to reset the service the way to tell is when your door is open and you turn the key to the #1 position, if your system says to remove the key, then you need to close the door, then you can press buttons as described. 2013 c300
Worked great first time on the wife's SLK R172. Many thanks!!!
