My dad has owned that same Czech Mauser since the late 1960's. Has the same lion crest but his was already sporterized when he received it but was kept a 8mm. I'm now looking for the Czeck Mauser with lion crest. I'm doing research on rechambering it to a 30-06 if I cant already find one that's been rechambered

The Czechs made 98ks during and after the war! A lot of post war 98 from Czechoslovakia are german-tooled, parts etc --> 98ks.
