- I was recently in Newport Beach outside Viewpoint Church to capture some video and pictures from the sidewalk & curb . I had to privilege of auditing along side LA News Connection at this location 📷

We were approached by the pastor who was asking what we were doing & why were we recording. Along with her encounter , we were met by mostly curiosity seekers wondering what was going on. Ultimately , our right to record in public was respected.

If it was against the law to video kids in public, there would be a lot of people arrested in Disneyland.
Technically inside Disneyland is private property ...so out on a public sidewalk or any public space is open for photography regardless if kids are there or not
One thing I like about your videos is that you cut out the dead space so many auditors leave in theirs.
Some Auditors don’t edit so there’s no question of what they did/said between interactions to prove themselves innocent of any false accusations.

His point was that if the video is unedited then no one can claim that it was edited to make the subject look worse and the auditor look better which is what many bootlickers claim is the case.

Saying "I'm not being a jerk" doesn't mean one isn't.
I would say it's a strong indicator that the person does in fact intend to be a jerk but doesn't want to accept the karma of being honest enough to admit it.

When a daycare or summer camp asks parents for permission to photograph/video the kids, it's to use the images in promotional materials; it's not because anyone needs permission for their First Amendment rights. Educate these folks! 💜

Very impressed by that church. Most of the people were friendly and either smiled at you or greeted you, invited you in and did not call the police. Seems like a genuinely nice place.

Man, the jail cells in Florida must be full of parents who took pictures of their kids at the amusement parks and, without express permission, caught other people's kids in the background. No wonder our prisons are overcrowded! Narf! 🙄

I really like how Chris answers in a very non-aggressive way at first, then again before, a third time saying "It's none of your business". Overall very warm engaging friendly people invited you to join service little concerned just didn’t understand why you were filming but nice and kind as a church should represent themselves and the people.I would go there. God bless

I might have considered divulging what I was videoing for, if the nosy fellow had told me what happened to his hand. That was a serious bandage or cast he had on. There was also that one concerned parishioner, who said "I know it's illegal to video kids without their permission". Excuse me, sir, but you don't know jack.

This happened at the church my wife goes to. The pastor invited them in, with their cameras to record anything they wanted. And even encouraged them to record the sermon. They declined. But the funniest part was when the pastor started ministering to them, they left. 🤣
I asked if I could come in with my camera , got no answer to that question ,so I assume that meant no. No-one encouraged me to record the sermon while I was there
