In my opinion this is the best coaching session I have ever seen. I've watched this video around 10 times in a couple of months to learn more from this amazing coach. I wish I could know her name to follow her channel or Facebook.
Great video... Great content... NOTE: Just having overhead lighting makes the "FEEL" of dreary ... (making shadows under their eyes and face)... You need hidden "Lighting" around your subjects and especially behind them... (Halo effect) ... even a tiny (wireless) light in their lap would help.
Good example, one point of attention. The coach Michelle is using the word Okay about 600 times in one session. Once you are aware of it, it's getting pretty anoying. In my opinion not the best way tot get and keep rapport. The client doesn't use this word at all.
As I was listening to this I heard the same thing "okay" over used and while after reading this I thought about the amount of report she had. And in watching it I feel she had all the rapport she needed. The client was open and never confrontational or holding back as one who was not in rapport would have been.
I was a little annoyed with the number of times she used ok but I think in a way it was used to draw out more thought in the client and it enabled him to really focus on what he was feeling. I didn't see it breaking rapport because I saw a lot of body language going back and forth between the two that indicated plenty of rapport. There was a lot of mirroring going on. And in the end I didn't expect to see what I saw. When starting the conversation I didn't get the impression that he would be the type to take many chances at much of anything unless he felt supremely confident in his ability to be perfect yet towards the end he was singing the national anthem and completely murdering it without hesitation knowing that he wasn't anywhere close to perfection. And that was exactly the change that was sought.
Great coaching session, however the validation to say she is hearing the client using the word "OK" could lose the clients rapport. Although it did not seem this with the client in this demonstration. Overall very good.
Writing down is too distracting. He gives her so many clues in the very beginning and could have been done in way less more time. "Brakes" "holds me back". He is speaking car language.
this was awesome. i feel a change just by following along! :) Thank you for sharing!
Allegra me too :-)🌻
OMG the guy is so sweet - I want to know how he is doing now! HE LOVES POETRY ❤

Try thinking of others "Okay!"
Five mins into this it was doing my head in, then I saw I had about 50mins left of okays ☹️

At the 41:00min mark you can realise that she has not only sufficient but excellent rapport with the client :)

What validation would you have used instead?
