  • I thought I did not care about Gretsch guitars. Wrong again. That's the thing about music, it always humbles my ass.
It will be available locally. If I don't get it sold I'll list it on Reverb.

BTW, Brook, you made an offhanded and somewhat disparaging remark about the Gretsch Electromatic series. I own one. The hollowbody model is eight hundred bucks, new. Not cheap, but affordable. It's a very nice guitar (yeah, Korea), sounds and plays very well, exhibits good workmanship and has pretty decent parts. I'm sure most Electromatic owners wish they owned a professional series Gretsch instead, but just like with Fender, there's a model for every budget. And just like with Fender and Squier, the Gretsch models are genuinely good guitars for their price point. That's part of the fun and beauty of guitars, isn't it? You get to savor playing a Chet Atkins branded Gretsch or a Gibson SG, and I get to coax tunes out of an Electromatic hollowbody or a Squier Telecaster. It's all good, right? 🙂

I've seen them come and go Ron and to put it all under one big umbrella, Electromatic, Squier and Epiphone are all totally playable and sound excellent and are pretty hard to tell the difference between them and the big budget guitars. I'm comparing a Squier Jazzmaster with a Custom Shop Jaguar and guess which one is going out on gigs and recording projects?

When I first encountered a lot of the import series versions of Fender, Epiphone and Gretsch my first impression was pretty low. C&C machining probably did a lot to make the quality consistent.

Do you wanna know a secret? You should keep it! Gretschs are great guitars, and what you got there is a professional model. I dig hearing the rockabilly - and Gretsch makes for a very cool surf guitar as well! Brook, you NEED one in your arsenal.
