I'm a 55 y.o man whom was in an earlier life, a semi-pro (pro attitude/work ethic...but no fortune made, hahaha) singer in a hard rock/metal band, and I'm onto my second tissue as we speak. So absolutely no shame in showing emotion, particularly in reacting to the amazing Floor, whom always seems to connect directly to your soul in all her performances. IMHO she is the best female vocalist of her time, and in my personal all-time top 5 (both male/female). What touches me so much about Floor is her voice, stage presence but also how she uses her whole body to tell the story. You can see that in several of the Nightwish videos. Floor is fortunately cancer free. Please never apologize for showing your emotions. You should see me when I am on a Floor Jansen concert. I cry my eyes out....

It's amazes me that Floor hasn't been a household name in the Netherlands since she was in her early 20´s. She must be one of the the biggest musical talents coming out of the Netherlands of all time.

Until the last few years, Floor was virtually unknown in the Netherlands. She's done some solo work that has brought her great fame in the Netherlands. She's sold out many concert there now and it's basically because she was on this show. The solo work is not metal but pop and the Dutch seem to really like her singing that type of music. Her RUclips channel has many solo songs from her. I really love the newest song called "Invincible" that is about PTSD and overcoming it.
Floor is simply the best singer in the World today, her voice is full of emotion and you do not listen to Floor singing, you FEEL Floor singing, I often find myself in tears with the emotions of whatever she sings, it is simply beautiful, Floor has no peers currently in the music industry
Emma's performance of the song Strong (written by Floor) is also excellent. The song is about Floor's mother and her life-long struggles with chronic pain.
I tear up each time too. Henk has become so beloved in the Nightwish/Floor fan communities. Unknowingly I had seen Henk many years before on US Public Television at the end of the 10th Anniversary concert of Les Misérables when they brought out the "17 Valjeans" who had pioneered the role in 17 countries outside of the UK. Agreed. 2019, best season of Beste Zangers. There have been some good and great acts on that show before and since, but that whole season was completely different. You are right, Floor set that bar REALLY HIGH from the beginning and everybody else really stepped up their game just to try to keep up. AMAZING. :)
Floor is a singing goddess. You should also check her cover of Alone - almost only with piano, very emotional, again. You might find it on her RUclips channel. Alone was made famous by the band Heart in the 80s, which is also a cover (original by I-Ten). And don't worry about your tears and emotions. Floors singing touches many hearts - and with a story similar to her, it is even more reasonable.

The musical is translated as The Merry Widow in English. They were able to pull together such a wonderful cast for this season of Beste Zangers. Every one of these singers is amazing. Be sure to watch the songs with the intros and outros as well. they really add to the performances. For example, Henk's mom used to sing Villa Lied to him as a child as well. You will cry even more.

What really struck me at this show was what a kind person Floor is. She was always giving credits to everybody. I have to admit this season was one of the best. It was a good match. If you want to do more from the Beste Zangers, you could do Barcelona perfomed by Tommy Christiaan and Tania Kross. I think you will like that too. Take care!

I watched the weekly RUclips releases of this show, and I was happy everyone in her country was knowing Floor. When she sang "Shallow", I found amazing that this is not even a sad song, Floor just decided to sing it with a sentimental tone and that was enough to have no dry eye in the room. She is just as you pointed out, that great story teller.

Wow, that is three of the best choices from Beste Zangers, although there isn't a poor performance from Floor as she sings in English, Dutch, German and Spanish in these shows.
First of all, God bless you and your recovery. Floor has a tendency to rip your heart our. If you have time watch the intros to the songs. Theres really good insight into why they chose the songs to perform and for whom. I highly recommend Henk Poorts version of Sound of Silence, Floor is who he performed it for on the show.

Very Nice Reaction! It's nice to see someone really feel and understand how good Floor's voice is. She can hit those high notes, but I really love the sound of her voice in her lower register. On Beste Zangers they talked before someone would get up and sing, but Avrotros didn't put that in their RUclips videos. Before Villja Lied she explained that she was not popular in The Netherlands because of her singing Metal and The Netherlands was more of a Pop Music country. She had her own band for about 10 years before she joined Nightwish called After Forever. She was singing Villja Lied to Henk whose Mother used to sing it to him and his Father when he was a young boy and she saw him on Dutch TV when she was young singing the Phantom of the Opera song and he is the reason she did the show. She also did a German show similar to Beste Zangers in January/February of 2022 called Sing Meinen Song 2022. They have not released many video's of that show, but there is one that shows a Medley of the songs Floor sang. Search "Floor Jansen Best Collection Sing Meinen Song 2022 if you want to listen to her on that show.

First, I'm terribly sorry for what you've had to endure. I'm glad you didn't edit it out. I received the same encouragement, and exposure to music from my grandparents as well. It is a gift that has enriched my life for nearly half a century now. As far as I have heard Floor is doing extremely well following treatment. You picked 3 amazing performances, of course, everything she's performed on the show is amazing. Regardless, I'm glad you enjoyed Vilja as much as I do.
As always I really enjoyed your honest and emotional reaction. Be aware when reacting to "Mama" from that show, as it is a very emotional song. But all the other songs done by Floor from that show are incredible. f you can find somewhere the full shows with the ahead and after interviews you should watch them. There were some users having them on RUclips, but they are down by now. The interviews are so interestig as all the songs are important to the original singers and there you get to know the story behind the song.
Don't worry, you are not the first reactor to get emotional when they hear Floor Jansen sing. Nothing to be ashamed for, especially not after your horrible experiences.
So sorry to hear of all you went through. ❤ The lumpectomy Floor had was declared to be a complete success and the cancer had not spread. She is considered to be "cancer free". I believe Floor goes for localized radiation treatments this month.

Agreed. 2019, best season of Beste Zangers. There have been some good and great acts on that show before and since, but that whole season was completely different. You are right, Floor set that bar REALLY HIGH from the beginning and everybody else really stepped up their game just to try to keep up. AMAZING. :)
Floor is a singing goddess. You should also check her cover of Alone - almost only with piano, very emotional, again. You might find it on her RUclips channel. Alone was made famous by the band Heart in the 80s, which is also a cover (original by I-Ten). And don't worry about your tears and emotions. Floors singing touches many hearts - and with a story similar to her, it is even more reasonable.

The musical is translated as The Merry Widow in English. They were able to pull together such a wonderful cast for this season of Beste Zangers. Every one of these singers is amazing. Be sure to watch the songs with the intros and outros as well. they really add to the performances. For example, Henk's mom used to sing Villa Lied to him as a child as well. You will cry even more.
Never apologise for being in touch with your emotions. You demonstrate how genuine you are because you don't hide them or exaggerate them. They are honest and there is beauty in that honesty.

The Floor series of Beste Zangers is all so so so good. It's amazing how great she is.
Floor could sing any given technical manual or phone book and I would so be there for it, belt pouches stuffed with tissues. I am a grown ass man and she makes me tear up every. Single. Time. I hear her sing.
The Phantom she just released with Nightwish featuring Henk is different but awesome.
You hit it right on the head. Floor is a great vocalist, but an even better storyteller. She feels the words she is singing. This is why we feel it as well. In English we call it "The Merry Widow".

What really struck me at this show was what a kind person Floor is. She was always giving credits to everybody. I have to admit this season was one of the best. It was a good match. If you want to do more from the Beste Zangers, you could do Barcelona perfomed by Tommy Christiaan and Tania Kross. I think you will like that too. Take care!

I watched the weekly RUclips releases of this show, and I was happy everyone in her country was knowing Floor.
When she sang "Shallow", I found amazing that this is not even a sad song, Floor just decided to sing it with a sentimental tone and that was enough to have no dry eye in the room. She is just as you pointed out, that great story teller.

Wow, that is three of the best choices from Beste Zangers, although there isn't a poor performance from Floor as she sings in English, Dutch, German and Spanish in these shows.

First of all, God bless you and your recovery. Floor has a tendency to rip your heart our. If you have time watch the intros to the songs. Theres really good insight into why they chose the songs to perform and for whom. I highly recommend Henk Poorts version of Sound of Silence, Floor is who he performed it for on the show.
When I grew up as a child in the early 1960's, we called it The Merry Widow, which I suppose means really the same thing as "Happy." 🙂

Floor opened Beste Zangers show with this song, and it was everyone's first exposure to her singing. You can see how shocked everyone was to hear her voice
Floor & Henk closed the show with their Phantom of the Opera rendition. Somebody mentioned in a different reaction that the show gave them an award because their duet was so good, but whether this is true or not I don't know

Very Nice Reaction! It's nice to see someone really feel and understand how good Floor's voice is. She can hit those high notes, but I really love the sound of her voice in her lower register.
On Beste Zangers they talked before someone would get up and sing, but Avrotros didn't put that in their RUclips videos. Before Villja Lied she explained that she was not popular in The Netherlands because of her singing Metal and The Netherlands was more of a Pop Music country. She had her own band for about 10 years before she joined Nightwish called After Forever. She was singing Villja Lied to Henk whose Mother used to sing it to him and his Father when he was a young boy and she saw him on Dutch TV when she was young singing the Phantom of the Opera song and he is the reason she did the show.
She also did a German show similar to Beste Zangers in January/February of 2022 called Sing Meinen Song 2022. They have not released many video's of that show, but there is one that shows a Medley of the songs Floor sang. Search "Floor Jansen Best Collection Sing Meinen Song 2022 if you want to listen to her on that show.

So sorry to hear of all you went through. ❤ The lumpectomy Floor had was declared to be a complete success and the cancer had not spread. She is considered to be "cancer free". I believe Floor goes for localized radiation treatments this month.

Mooie reactie. Bijzonder dat je dit niet eerder hebt gezien. Zeker de Phantom met Henk is heel bekend. Ze hebben een belofte gemaakt toen dat Henk dit samen met Floor en Nightwish zouden doen als Nightwish in Nederland zou spelen.
