Memory is an extremely strange thing... Sometimes my grandfather when he was alive would tell a story about a very close friend of his whose family was interned in the camps in california. He would cry when he would talk about it Because it was very painful to think about what had happened to his friend and he never actually saw him again. He heard that he was decorated in the italian campaigns after volunteering, but he never saw him when he came back if he did. I remember another time because obviously he's an old guy and he used to watch fox news he was watching The president of japan visit pearl harbor and he started talking about how we should have nuked everybody in japan to death and done a genocide on the whole country... Really intense, highly conflicting stuff.. Shows the importance of how we remember and how we conceive of the now. Wonderful talk, thanks for sharing!
