I think it’s funny how one of the characters say that remnants (aka the car that you drive) get into your mind and make you like whatever the remnant is and jack keeps talking about how much he loves the car and how it’s like a pet
He made that connection himself in the video
@@ktgame2640timestamp?
@@ktgame2640 So I rewatched the whole first episode for the sole purpose that I miss all of this completely, I didn’t see where he made the connection. Could you maybe put a time stamp? Thank you! 💛

I love it how jack wonders how his fuel is going down but he never shuts the car off
Or why it keeps driving away
speaking of fuel did you notice when he turns the wipers on the fuel gage is also going in time with the wipers😂dunno if thats a bug lol
@@IamTaylorMade00 It's not, and good eye! The car actually has "system faults" of sorts where doing one action will do another, like opening the driver's door also opening the boot, or turning on the wipers making the fuel gauge act up. There's a terminal in the garage where the player can debug these issues, it's a lot of fun ^^
@@Emforus That's one of the sickest things I've ever seen implemented in a game. That's really cool. It reminds me of times when I pull an engine error code out of a car and look up a solution for it. If you don't know, a lot of cars have a way built in to check engine problems by giving you a code, then you can just look up the code and your make and model to diagnose your issue. How you do it changes from vehicle to vehicle. I had an old 2002 Jeep Liberty for several years and with Jeeps, if you turn the key in the ignition over three times to the position right before you start the engine in rapid succession, it'll give you a code for whatever is triggering an engine light. I believe it's the same for Dodge and Chrysler too. My advice is to do anything you can before you take your car in to a mechanic. If it's something as simple as a coil or sparkplug, those are remarkably easy to change and can save you hundreds by doing it yourself instead of taking it in. Even if you don't know a lot about cars, it's super worth it to learn the basics like changing tires, breaks, oil, sparkplugs, and coils. All of it is pretty easy, aside from changing oil, which can be a process, and is just plain cheaper. As a college student who wants to be economic, I can't recommend it enough. There's some things you shouldn't tamper with though, like a timing belt or something, that you definitely should let the qualified professionals handle. Even in that situation though, if you are looking up the codes, at least you know what you're getting into and can estimate the price so you aren't blindsided as much.
@@Emforus ohhh no way I’m waiting to play the game I’ve pre ordered it I literally saw the game and then saw jack posted a video about it 10 minutes after gonna have to grind this when it comes out 😂
So glad he clarified that he didn’t have a license at the beginning
why
Even if he hadn't told us, I think it was pretty obvious based on how he drives in this game. XD

A open world driving horror game literally sounds like one of the best premise for a game I've heard
Absolutely, and it doesn't hurt that I've been itching for a driving game lately.
It kinda sounds like that horror game that you're a car or in one and something is stalking you in another car.
Check out Beware
You should check out the game Beware, it's exactly that, and open world driving game and it's AMAZING
isn't that just called driving in Detroit or Ohio irl? lol
I love that he drove directly into the tourists before Tobias' dialogue explaining not to do exactly that.
And he didn't even get any of their resources for the trouble.
Been a while since I watched Sean and man he is still as clueless and impatient when playing as I remember.

Jack: I love rainy Pacific Northwest locations. I don’t know why.
Me: I feel like being Irish might be a contributing factor
My sister lives in Vancouver, the first time I visited her I instantly felt home
@@HeidiLeonAnimations are you Irish?
@@tanuki01 No, I'm a mix of 10 different European countries though. I'm not sure if it was my genes, just it seems so cozy living there
@@HeidiLeonAnimations oh okay. I thought you were just adding to my joke
@@HeidiLeonAnimationsA mix of 10 countries 😂😂😂😂 I take it you’re American
I like the lore of the remnants. You become bound to an object and obsessed with it. By making the car a main mode of transportation and needing it to be repaired constantly, it forces the player to quite literally be obsessed with the car and I don't know why but the volume of the game and your mic is perfect enough that when you're blazing through something terrifying screaming it sounds like you're the character and i love it.
That might make a cool game mechanic. Interact with an object enough and it binds itself with you, returning if it becomes detached from you or gets destroyed.
Could do it with a weapon like the Master Sword in BoTW or for puzzles.
Now that I think about it it's kinda just an advanced cooldown... Eh, still has potential to be more than that with additional workshopping. Feel free to pinch this, anyone reading!
I was thinking about that too!
@@Ixarus6713 Could be done in a Soulslike game, the starting weapon would start out as hot garbage, be easily replaceable by other weapons, but with upgrades it always keeps up or even surpasses weapons you would find. You could sacrifice other weapons to make it stronger or something. At the end of it's upgrades it's completely OP, and at some point in the endgame you lose it and have to find it while either evading or attempting to fight high level enemies with subpar weapons.
If it was me in this world, I’d be bound to a train, stuck on a set path of railroads for all of eternity.
The game Nioh has a familiarity meter on weapons that makes them stronger the longer you use them. Its based on the idea that all in Shinto all objects have a spirit. In that gane it's kind if like an extta exp bar, but it would be awesome if you unlocked new moves or enhancements with familiarity.
Please, I want more of this Jack. It feels like the perfect playthrough for the channel
yeah this is giving subnautica vibes for sure
He doesn't seem too into the game with all the chatting and vague logs lol
@@churrocharcharm it seems like he likes the game, just not a few aspects of it (specifically how you have to pay full attention to what they say or youll likely have no idea what to do, and how certain things arent just explained to you directly). These things i would assume are tolerable if the game itself is fun enough to play regardless.
@@churrocharcharm the game is fun and its gets challenging so who cares

I'm a nurse, and I feel the "it's weird that your brain knows everything about your body and how it's working but won't tell you" in my soul. It sucks to think about, cuz if the brain would just let our conscious self know for sure wtf is going on it would make our jobs and the lives of our pts SO much easier.
you would also get paid a lot less because there would be no way to mislead and take advantage of people
my sister is always talking about how she wants administrator controls
Iv never thought about the idea of this, but i agree 100%. Wow
Well, on the downside you’d be absolutely flooded with information, the body is constantly fighting something, imagine if your brain notified you of every cancerous cell it was killing off at any one time, and that’s just a fraction of what’s happening inside of you. You’d never be able to think, let alone sleep! Blissful ignorance works well for me I think.
I have the same issue with modern cars. Of course, the Batmobile, or at least The Tumbler, can tell Batman exactly what & where is wrong on the vehicle.
But modern cars, noooo.
You need to plugin a Scan Tool into the OBD2 port, to get a code, then the code just vaguely tells you what's wrong or broken, for you to become a detective and experimenting scientist to find & fix the issue.
And if you can't Scooby Doo or Nancy Drew the problem, then you have to take your vehicle to an possibly untrustworthy shop or stealership to fix it for you.
And I just now realized modern motorcycles may not even have a diagnostic port. Let alone software and extra sensors to just directly tell you what the problem is, or about to be.
The voice actress for Dr Oppy is phenomenal, in both the voice itself And how she speaks. She really nailed the Cranky apathetic old lady that has no choice but to help you.
She sounds a lot like Bierce from Dark Deception
That'd be the great Susanne Blakeslee, voice actress of Wanda in Fairly Odd Parents and Maleficent in Kingdom Hearts!

I love that the car is used as a vessel for a hivemind in a way. No matter what part of the journey we the players are in, we're always thinking about the car, to the point where it grows into an obsession almost. Really refreshing subtle horror there, especially when juxtaposed with the in-your-face horror as well, that speaks on the innerworkings of the mind! I also love your longer videos like this Jack, anything Pacific Northwest themed, and have been craving a solid car horror game since the Beware demo, so thank you for this treat!!
They literally tell you that you’re gonna become obsessed with the anomaly (the car) because it bonds with the player and it’s going to take over your mind.
Oppihimer’s nick name is oppy 🤔
Yup
I don't get it.
Love the observation
the diagnostic station overwhelmed me at first too, its very open ended. But then I got a very specific issue - my passenger door kept opening when I put the car in park. I thought it was a bug, but no! a “quirk” apparently, and the diagnostic station tells you how to fix it. its a bit more intuitive when you have a specific problem to fix, and I like it.
Man the whole game is overwhelming
Yeah, the devs explained in an interview with Thor (Pirate Software) that they have a ton of weird interactions that the car can start doing, inspired by irl events they gathered. Can't remember if they gathered the stories from people outside the circle of devs or not, but you just experienced one of those
I definitely got overwhelmed by it too, and now that I have a more noticeable quirk (when I turn on my windshield wipers the fuel gauge starts spinning 😂) I keep meaning to go back to it to fix it but then I get distracted and forget...
You get to upgrade the tinker station later to make it easier to find quirks
I had the EXACT same problem!
I love how jack just drives off anywhere with no reguard for the car. On the up side I get to see it's not made of tinfoil unlike some streamers have been treating it.
why does your comment say "show more" even though clicking it does nothing
@@yo-cm4hmRUclips glitch :/ I've seen comments with one line say that
Yeah you can put that car through the ringer
Of course it’s not made of tinfoil, we saw Jack repair it - it’s clearly made of anomalous jello and held together by happy thoughts!
Jack wants to have fun, and knows exactly how to do it. Driving like an absolute madman is what ya gotta do in games that give you a car. Otherwise, it's not very fun.
I love how 2/3rds into the video he stops and starts setting up thumbnails for his editor, shows the process of recording a video like this
Yeah I thought something was gonna happen while he was doing it since it wasn’t cut out of the video haha
Yeah I’m glad the editor left it in
Dude me too. Kinda put his process into perspective
@@WillttocSicated I'm torn about it. On one hand it way a nice little peek behind the curtain, but it also felt kinda weird to me.
I think they got rid of it 😢
Jack’s lore-care varies so much it’s hilarious! Some games he’s all in diving into extra info and such and others he’s like “I’m just trying to craft and drive” that’s what I love about him
It was surprisingly heartwarming to see the Streamer Safe Mode in the setup menu. Good on you, developers!
Now to just figure out what songs are actually copyrighted, cause I am not familiar with ANY of them!
i recently played a game that had a streamer mode - not for copyrighted music, but because it's a MMO and the streamer mode hides your and your friends' usernames! that's extremely thoughtful (the game is Palia if you want to know)
hope you continue to play this. it seems like a game really in your alley.
not really getting much of the horror aspect of it apart from the occasional panic.
having a lot of fun watching this, it's relaxing but also interesting enough to maintain my attention
yup i honesly do NOT like horror games way to scary man this games awesome cause its mysterious and spooky but not tooo scary its just kinda scary sometimes
This part is the outer zone, what is there to say that the horror elements come into play in the mid zone onwards?
it's still got potential to get way worse but up till now it's been pretty relaxed@@MissFirenze1
Personally I don't really see this game as a "horror" type game as some content creators make it out to be. I see this more as a post-apocalyptic exploration/survival game with some mysterious lore to it. In a way, pretty similar to Outer Wilds and Subnautica. I think the "horror" element in this game probably comes from the fact that the player is in an area they do not know and that anything around them could potentially kill them if they're not careful. In short, I think it's more or less "the fear of the unknown".
EDIT: Also the game classifies as a roguelike, so being punished via dying could also add to the "horror" element. The fear of potentially dying and then losing a good amount of your progress.
@@liu7052 *guy who has only ever played dredge voice* this sounds a lot like dredge
~~altho dredge aint a roguelike, as far as i can tell its pretty forgiving when you die. havent died yet tho~~
1:06:10 I love that closing the hatch on yourself actually does damage
Thats the kind of little thing that shows the devs put a ton of effort into this
As someone who's lived my entire life in the Pacific Northwest and absolutely adores the coastal areas, I looooove games like this. So damn good.
soooo cool to see WA state's wilderness in a game like this!! very proud to be a seattleite today!!
With being in a old Volvo non the less!! I love that car
I came here to say this as well! They really did a good job at capturing some of the roads around the Olympic Peninsula with the opening scene there. We've done that loop as an afternoon drive many, many times. Absolutely love living here.
When I joined my work. I was posted at a hilly region. It was 3 hrs drive from my place and I went there like 5/6 times a month. Now that I got transferred, I kinda miss it.
The air was fresh. The sounds were of rivers, breezes and creeks, not cars. It was very cold in winter though.
There*entire life
If there’s more to this game, I want to see more of Jack playing this game. It’s an awesome concept!!!
Right! It just ended. I was super into watching it. I could've easily binged 2 more hours of it.
It never fails to amuse me that every storm he encounters in the Exclusion Zone is something he identifies as an Exclusion Zone.
The Exclusion Zone apparently is filled with Exclusion Zones.
Honestly I love atmospheric horror mystery games, it just really is such a creative way to tell a haunting story without relying on cheap jumpscares
I recommend watching IGP's playthrough on 'Beware'. It was the first real concept for a good driving horror game and it never got traction.
Also this is a horror game that is rated T for teen instead of Mature
2 hours of Jacksepticeye horror game videos is always welcomed

@@ZACKARDO wow no taste
I'm days late but the anomaly "descriptions" hint at what they do. Abductor description says the guy is writing from a van in a tree. That means abductors pick stuff up. The beating heart/ green tree thing mentions that his car is repaired every time he comes back. Glittering boulder made the writer go insanely fast, etc. you have to read between the lines a bit.
For a story, its best to explain things via events.
But a game is not just a story, its a experience, thus why quality of life details are so important. If you have to figure out what is going on via a bunch of short stories, it might be cool at first, but it very quickly gets annoying. More so since pause does not seem to pause the world, meaning you are distracted by all the stuff going on around you that might gank you.
@FastForwardPlans You can change whether going into a menu pauses your game through the accessibility options.
Also I actually love that the game doesn't directly tell you what any of the anomalies are. You're meant to experiment. If you wanna know exactly what something does, you have to drive head first into it and just see what it does. The game is all about going on expeditions, making discoveries, and gaining knowledge. I'm halfway through, and so far nothing in the game will one-shot you or your car. Half of the anomalies don't even do direct damage, they just make it more difficult to drive without running into a tree or something
i love these long lets plays, its so fun to just relax with it in the background or get immersed in it. ive really missed these types of videos and i hope sean is enjoying making them.
Just find something you love to do that is profitable. Then you will stop caring what other people think of you.
Recently the sarcastic and comedic editing in Jacks videos have had me laughing so much. If its a new editor or old ones doing something new i love it
i mean its funny but i like genuinity and you know.. niceness ;-;

As someone from the PNW specifically Western Washington I 100% get where youre coming from with the natural beauty, overall vibes and almost mysticism of the region. Some people dont 'get it' and only see the rain. Growing up camping and hiking, hunting and fishing up and down the coast and the mountains was a good childhood experience. I never realized just how profound it was until I moved away and missed it so much. The near oppressive mountains rain and ever green trees is comforting to me.

I love not only the game, but the various options the devs put in customize gamplay. As someone who hates time trials for example, I disabled the storms and have auto-fill and repair on successful run so it was a more "leisurely" experience. I quote leisurely because the anomalies will still kick your ass and leave you limping back to base missing everything (and missing things cannot be repaired lol).
Same! I personally turned off the storms that happen if ya wait too long but kept the gateway ones cause the mad dash is fun.

Fun fact: metallic smell and metallic taste are commonly due to the blood entering your nasal passageway or through your mouth as radiation will cause venous system systematically failing. Some associate the smell of snow as "iron smelling" but that is also due to them having nosebleeds because of vast humidity change in their system. A lot of people genuinely think the smell of snow and the smell of radiation is from an outside source, even though it's just iron rich blood being let loose due to structural failure in the veins.

You’ll probably never see this comment, but you’ve been such a big part of my childhood and I turn 18 next month. It’s strange because my whole childhood never really was a childhood because as a child I had to be an adult, with a lot of crappy things happening. But throughout school and my childhood I looked forward to all your videos and I loved binge watching sallyface, life is strange and all that good stuff, every one of your videos no matter what game it was you put out has always made me smile and brought light to the dark days. I continue to watch you even though I’m practically an adult now, but watching you makes me feel a sense of nostalgia, but the nostalgia I was supposed to have and never got. It’s complicated to put it into words. I appreciate you and so so much of us do. Life is still, very hard and dark, and it’s a struggle everyday. Just saw this game on steam and knew I'd be too scared to play it as much as I'd want to. Glad to see Jack playing it (Hi from Oregon!)
For some reason I love when a high profile game streamer starts up a game and almost immediately discovers a fault or error or, in this case, a soft lock on the game! It happens on the first excursion - see 48:03 where he has to reset the game and finds the Gas Canister on his first cabinet. Definitely a bug in the game as it has attached dialog and it references the very tool you are told to construct. Jack could tell he was missing a vital part and probably reached an impasse not long after the cut at 48:03.
It is a bit of an embarrassment for the game makers I'm sure.
1:51:37 Jack: “Roads are just another way of saying fancy obstacles”
Jack literally 2 seconds later “oh a road, I could use that”
Sean saying he loves Pacific Northwest stuff reminds me that it might be time for him to give Days Gone a serious attempt.
open world + horror + plus driving sounds like the best game combo
Only Sean could treat being told exactly what to do with giant glowing lights telling him exactly where to go as "confusing."
just imagine this in vr that would be amazing
Metallic in mouth could mean
1. Gum bleeding
2. Hemochromatosis (too much iron)
3. Previously eating food containing blood
He didn't mean literally
This is irrelevant but it’s been so long since I’ve watched Sean’s videos and I saw this one on my feed and clicked out of pure boredom and curiosity of how his content is now a days and I almost started crying cause of how much I missed his videos of course ive missed how he used to be but seeing the progression over the years of how his content has changed and grown with him and me in turn is truly heart warming anyways enough of me being a sap and hello to whoever takes time to read my boring words
Loving this playthrough. I've lived on the Oregon Coast for 58 years and damp forest, damp forest, damp forest pretty much describes it.
Man literally barely any youtuber made a whole series
Yeah, like why isn’t this amazing game getting more recognition?
Something chasing you through the woods, and all you hear is "All The Way! Keep on trying!"
🎼More passion, more energy, more energy more passion 🎶🎵
Hey Jack! Just wanted to let you know about a game called "That's Not My Neighbor". It's like Papers, Please but with doppelgangers
Sean: 'like car pepper.'
Me: 'Pepper the Prawn suit?!?!?'
Its already been 6 months, Still curious how you will get on with everything? Will you get out? Will you survive? We might never actually know :)
I love this content but I’m 90% certain jacksepticeye is the reason devs make games that handhold you like crazy 😂😂
I’ve been rewatching this so many times while I wait for a part 2 lol❤
Dawg im only 42 min in and ive been hit with at LEAST 10 ads wtf
Is there a part 2?
“Honor yourself with food, don’t destroy yourself”
This is something I’m really working on, dealing with an undiagnosed health condition that is heavily impacted by what I eat. I got tired of restricting and follow super strict rules and ended up binging on everything I wasn’t allowed to eat. Now I’m slowly working on eating intuitively and honoring my body and what makes it feel good without being super strict about it. Learning to honor my body and not allowing food to destroy it.
What do you mean by that??? 🤨🤨 6:34
