    7:17 actually you're playing a real song. It's called "Nothing else matters" by Metallica, so your rule about practicing to songs still holds

    I can’t thank you enough, Nathan . You’ve always been my first inspiration ever since I found out about your channel . Like , I used to memorise every chord I learned until I took The Fretboard Freedom training.

    Rest Stroke Gang!

  • @prwtotokos61
    @prwtotokos61 4 года назад +3

    One problem I have in light of the curve of my nails is that I have to change hand position when playing a rest stroke. This makes it difficult to play pieces like the Sor study in B Minor, because changing hand positions slows me down every time I play a rest stroke. I haven't found a good answer to this problem:-(

      @BeyondTheGuitarAcademy  4 года назад +1

      i never use rest strokes. for a similar reason. the way i like my nails requires me to change my hand position too much between free stroke and rest stroke, so i feel like the cons outweigh the pros. by following this technique and digging deeper into the string, free stroke works perfectly fine

      @@BeyondTheGuitarAcademy That's good, reassuring news, thank you! Now back to Sor's Study in B Minor sans rest strokes:-)

    Hey Nathan, I just wanna say thank you for whatever is you are doing. It helps me to motivate myself and see things in a different way and I actually have a question for you. Why some of your videos on this channel not 10 minute long, I don't know how much youtube is paying but as far as I know it gives a little bit more when you do it 10 min long. I mean just play a song at the end of the video maybe idk but it would help you a little bit more maybe and I would love that :) (sorry for my bad england :()

      Really kind of you to be concerned about that. Don't worry, though. Ad revenue doesn't really make a big difference until a channel starts getting hundreds of thousands of views. I make most of my income from other means like the Arrangers Academy, Patreon, Sheet music sales, Spotify, etc.

    Can you do a video with recommendations for someone looking to buy their first classical guitar? So many different ones out there. Yamaha and Cordoba seem to be the main contenders for beginners, but still a lot of models for each. Would be helpful to see your opinion on where to start and a comparison of price points. They range from $300-1000 for "entry level" guitars
