Love y’all’s channel and adventure spirit! Don’t let all these armchair quarterbacks get you down… you are doing what most only dream of… and the fact that you are bringing us along is amazing. Enjoy the journey, video when you can.
Thanks for the support! Good luck with your Troopy and reach out if you’ve ever got any questions. We are going to be filming a tour soon, so keep an eye out for that.
superb this video, where did you find the information for the papers to have for the customs? and to travel with your dog, what do you have to do to clear customs? Good trip
Our dog only required a few vaccines and documentation of them. Crossing the border from the US to Mexico doesn’t require much, so a quick google search gave us all the info we needed
We stayed at that same campground you showed first, however, we stayed there for 4 days after baja to decompress before driving up the coast to Alaska.
That campground is a gem for border crossing days. We stumbled upon it last year and there was only one other vehicle there which happened to be another Troopy haha
@@gdayjambo I usually don't stay at campgrounds because I don't like to feel crowded, however like your experience, there was only 1 other rig when I went too and it was very peaceful.
I am curious to see what kind of mods you have on the Troopy. I’ve driven both the Troopy and the 76 Wagon in Australia and South Africa and the OEM seats are quite brutal for a long ride. Wondering if you upgraded to the Recaro seats? Any lift kit mods? We are actually going out on the PAH starting in March/April on our 2021 LC200 I just got end of 2021. Had the off-road build done at Slee Off-road in CO so it’s all ready to take on any terrain. We won’t be living off the vehicle though and staying in hotels so we didn’t do any mods for a living setup like a rooftop tent but have a refrigerator installed along with drawers in the back for storage. Has a 3 inch lift kit with the OME BP51s and 35 inch tires. We’ll probably carry a ground tent for the rare camping we might want to do but keeping the weight and baggage to a minimum except tools and accessories along with our bags and works out for not planning to live in it. And we also got a 40 gallon Aux tank for 750-800 mile range ( the 5.7 engine is quite thirsty lol) and also front and rear lockers installed ( it comes with the center diff lock along with MTS and Crawl Control) Would be interesting if you showcased your build in one of the videos. I’ve seen some of the Troopys in Australia kitted to the teeth with everything and curious to see your build. Safe travels.
We are planning our Troopy build video and will be filming it soon. We upgraded to Scheel-Mann seats and have the heaviest duty leaf springs available. Anything specific you’d like to see in the tour video?
@@gdayjambo Cool. Well I am specifically curious to see what kind of performance upgrades you guys did to the Troopy for overland build such as suspension, shocks, lift kits, tires, seats ( this is something specific to the 70 series), roof racks, auxiliary fuel tanks, battery system etc . Basically everything you added on to take on a long overland journey. Not familiar with the Scheel Mann seats but the common one I have seen on the 70 series in Australia are Recaro seats. The OEM seats on the 70 series are pretty terrible for long distance journeys considering the vehicle was built as an utilitarian vehicle and not comfort vehicle like the later generation Landcruisers and the “ Luxcruiser” Lexus models
I just watched all your videos from day one. Olivia, your editing skills have improved immensely! And if I may make some constructive criticism, the audio balance between music and speech still needs some adjusting. When listening to a music segment, I often have to lower the volume and then bring it back up when you start talking again. This said, overall you both are so much more at ease with all aspects of video filming. Great work!
Hi! This is Olivia. Thanks for the feedback :) You probably saw in the first video that my background is in environmental science so I'm learning as I go! But always striving to improve each video. How did you guess that I do most of the editing?
In one of the videos, you say that the program you use (Adobe I believe) is quite difficult to learn. My daughter is in water conservation, getting cities, farmers, industry to understand how their activities influence water quality. So not too far from your interests. Your latest videos are light years better than the first, now all you need is a drone! Like Eva, but also like Noraly, AKA Itchy Boots, the queen of adventure riding.
Ah that makes sense. Sounds like your daughter does the exact type of work I used to. Small world! It's amazing how quickly we've grown in our skills, yet we have sooo far to go 😁 We do have a drone but definitely need to fly it more. Both Eva and Noraly are such good storytellers. We can only dream of reaching their video level.
Awesome seeing your boarder crossing happen , you will love Mexico I have visited there over landing and all ways came back with great memories . Looking forward to seeing more of your videos as you travel south on your epic adventure . Great video again you two . Thanks for sharing your wonderful journey with us . @@gdayjambo I never heard of people going to Baja in the winter until a couple months ago. I always heard Florida or Cancun or a Caribbean island. Thanks
Hi guys, found you through next meridian and Eva. Great video. The vaccination response is interesting. I'm 63 and I've had the flu Jab every winter for years and up to present 4 Covid shots and pretty much no consequences from either. Other family members have had mixed responses to both. I think its the luck of the draw unfortunately how your body responds to different vaccinations. Tough when it happens and your busy though. Best wishes.
I got cousins who live in La Paz, the retired down there. They grew up in Dairy/Bonanza. I could have hooked you guys up. Can't wait to see if you guys have video of La Paz. How many border crossings are you guys going to be doing?
Hi! We visit La Paz a few videos in the future. We're also heading back that way in a few weeks to take the ferry to mainland Mexico. We are thinking around 12 borders total for us on this trip :)
Exceptional service day and age ❤
I had an FJ40 for years and know and understand how the Toyotas are THE BEST! Great rig you have, so fun to see you guys on adventures!
Thanks! 👍
Nothing like having good working AC in the wagon.
We actually had to fix it again yesterday haha
Great job getting the shots!
Thanks Joe! The shots in our newest video are even better :)

Why is it all of the sudden so many people want to go to Baja?
It’s probably because it’s winter and the seasonal migration of Americans and Canadians to Baja is actually quite strong
@@gdayjambo I never heard of people going to Baja in the winter until a couple months ago. I always heard Florida or Cancun or a Caribbean island. Thanks

Definitely seems to be luck of the draw to a large extent. We were able to get everything done and cross the border though :)
Don’t know if you’re in mainland Mexico yet, be careful in Sinaloa. It’s been kind of chaotic these past few days.
We are not there yet. We have been monitoring the situation as close as we can and have plenty of time to let things settle down before crossing.

@@gdayjambo Well, as long as you are caravanning you'll at least have company. Are there any regulations about bringing pets across those borders?
Your videos are very high quality but not organic everything feels so cold and emotionless I don't know how to describe...
