Hi Monti, I really liked the volume of the sleeve and the cap. I haven't tried sewing a two piece sleeve yet but am going over all my YT lessons for it because I want to re-taylor my hubby shirts and put in new sleeves.
I think the problem that happened with the underarm seam ending up at the front and back of this sleeve happened because you missed a step in the drafting.
Peggy Sager has a great demonstration of how to manipulate the sleeve sloper to get the bend, but she did not sew up her draft for us to see it. Hence I kept researching so your lesson was a valuable lesson for me. Thank you so much!
From 2014 --- "Fit 2 Stitch - Season 1 Episode 3 - The Sleeve Up, Down and All Around"
Great demonstration for shaping a two piece sleeve to give bend to the arm at @ 16:42 of a 30 minute class.

Nice and simple method :) If the bodice has underarm princess seams you can match you sleeve seams to those.

Thank you! Yes, you can line up the princess seams to the sleeves. The reason they are frequently not lined up is due to the thickness of all the seam allowances in the seams. This bulk can make it difficult to sew and uncomfortable to wear. Of course, if the fabric is lightweight, this isn’t an issue.

Can I cut a tailored sleeve without a pattern

Yes, you can to a sleeve without a pattern, but it's easier to make a basic block and work from there. You'll get the fit quicker and more accurate this way. Here's the link to my basic sleeve video. It might help you! ruclips.net/video/xVYq6zH2nuQ/видео.html
