It had the best sounding top end, that's for sure! And the lows didn't get too mud, a really big issue with some fuzz (I'm looking at *you,* Fuzzface).
@@diego2112gaming a Fuzzface should be cranked, you use your guitars volume knob to control the sound. This the beauty of the Fuzzface germanium circuit. Setting it at 12 o’clock is a disservice to the design. Sorry . The germanium circuit Fuzzface is a unique thing and has to be used correctly.
@@diego2112gaming Yeah especially when Im looking for a fuzz for my bass, the BOSS sounds awesome, I tried the Waza Craft one and now I have to buy it cause it was so good
The Germanium Fuzzface circuit is supposed to be cranked. You control the fuzz saturation by rolling off the volume on your guitar which magically reduces the saturation without volume loss. It is a unique circuit and its magic only happens when you crank it.
Cock Fight is it way more versatile than shown here. The cry/talk wah can be foot-controlled via expression pedal, and the fuzz can be set before or after the wah filter. Wah can also be entirely suppressed. Here, the wah is cocked in the same position for all examples, and the fuzz is always routed through it.
Thank you for turning me on to the FZ-5 from this video. I love it. Three germanium pedal choices, very versatile, with none of the issues of germanium transistors due to temperature changes.
Oh man, that Ibanez OD850 sounds alive. Me likes. This video just opened up options. I never thought how muffled the mini fuzz face sounded until this video.
They all had they're moments on different songs. I would have set things differently, at times. May be adjusted eq on the amp to try and get them where I wanted them, playing live anyway. At first, I be damned if I didn't like that Boss and Ibanez more than the other more classic muff and fuzz face. They kind of cut more, imo.
i got 5 different roger mayer fuzz and the mini ffm2. I often use two at the same time. not one fits all, each has a range of use. As one said you are on the same pickup every time; so you also use the same settings for each all the time and you never lower the volume of the guitar, which is a great feature with a fuzz. remember dallas arbiter fuzz face ( sold out but legendary ), various roger mayer fuzz ( hard to find nowadays but not overpriced ) and the Band of Gypsys Fuzz Face Mini Chrome Limited Edition from Dunlop ( stopped but a real success ). well everyone got his fuzz
Gee, the middle pickup the whole time? I suspect most folks play mainly on the bridge pup with a fuzz. Please consider the above in future fuzz videos. Thanks for your effort nonetheless.
Big Muff is more hard rock stoner; this Fuzz Face sounds awful to me, but they are usually more psychedelic stoner sounding. So 60s vs 70s, also some might say single coil vs humbucker?
I don't get why some people hear the word digital and have a knee jerk reaction and say the Boss fz5 is terrible because it's digital. REALLY???!!!. The cock fight sounds terrible and so does the mini fuzz face. Open your ears and your mind.
You know, while not as "classically sexy" looking as the other pedals The Boss really sounds the best in my opinion.

Big Muff Pi for me.

Well now I know which two NOT to get. The FuzzFace and Cockfight.
Best answer here

Big Muff always win. I would've love this with neck and bridge pickups rather than position 3 (if I am not wrong...)

Love the Boss FZ-5
In minute 6:00 you can see the boss picture while he is playing the fuzz face
Yes, knights of cydonia and sunshine of your love! The best songs for this test
As always very helpful and the best comparisons out there. Thank You! Good work, much appreciated.
I was so certain on one pedal and then I heard all of them with the different riffs and now I’m torn.
Out of all of them I'd go for the Ibanez.
Oh man, that Ibanez OD850 sounds alive. Me likes.
This video just opened up options. I never thought how muffled the mini fuzz face sounded until this video.
To me the Ibanez OD 850 is the surprising winner! Thanx for showing!

As a smashing pumpkins fan I have to go with the big muff. It sounds the best for me
Who edited this video and how?! Lol, fun trying to line up all the recordings : )
Very helpful to just hear them in different contexts, thanks!

Boss out class them all.
Ibanez 850 no doubt.
Boss all day
Awesome! I've been looking for a good comparison between these pedals.
Fuzz Face!! :D
Ibanez and Boss sound identical to my ear. Big Muff has its own sound. Going to get that one. The other two don't sound as good to me in this demo.
His mouth opens in unusual ways when he speaks.
😂😂😂
Brits
You Must try the Analogwise Drop Ded fuzz. geranium bliss....
I like the Big Muff Pi the best
Boss fuzz owned all of them
Love all of them big muff is the only one I own and the behringer version of the boss
Great comparison.

The big muff sounds good
Can you do only big muff vs fuzzface mini germanium please?
I think that boss and Ibanez sounds quite same
Big muff for me ! Some songs i don t know. Please send the playlist
Boss and Ibanez sounds best for me
La boss j'adore
Dunlop Fuzz face is the best for me
Smashing Pumpkins for ever! Their influence is obvious everywhere. Cheers
First two words I see together on the title: Big Muff and Cock Fight
Big Muff is more hard rock stoner; this Fuzz Face sounds awful to me, but they are usually more psychedelic stoner sounding. So 60s vs 70s, also some might say single coil vs humbucker?
Same. I’ve found use for my Big Muff, but the Fuzz Face has always been one of the worst sounds to my ears.
good demo! Ibanez is maybe best

Name of the Song Please!! (NO DARUDE SANDSTORM PLEASE)
Isolirion Band, it's Spirit in the Sky, by Norman Greenbaum
@@jmi90187 thanks 👍🤘
Fuzz factory should have been included here. I currently use Cock fight, but will add the fuzz face or Ibanez to the arsenal
And they have a much more clear sound than the others
Surprised I liked the Ibanez boss and bigg muff
What's the name of the song starting at 3:27 ? I forgot the name !!!!
3 years old but muse-knights of cydonia
OD850
All are good!!!
me quedo con la Big muf o el od850 de ibanez
That ibanez fuzz ripppppps
wait i thought it was play music today?
My sonic arsenal is indeed fuzzy. I wish i could clean it up.

Lil big muff all the way
That riff at 3:28, is it yours or from a song?
Homer that’s Muse - Knights of Cydonia
Boss
Spoons and Guitars WTF were you thinking you idiot. Fun fact that was my old account... silly me.
And that one is my old account
It's between the boss and the big muff for me, I don't really like the fuzzface.
Boss fuzz!
As usual the digital one sounded the worst... The Boss uses the COSM technology for this pedal, which sounds ok, but far from great.
Big Muff
I did not like the cock fight but I really liked the Pi and the Boss They seemed to not obliterate your highs
Big Muf π is so much unrivalled. The rest of pedals are far behind the finish line.
The red one.
Square
Big Muff Pi el mejor.
Anyone gonna notice the muse into... No just me
Big Muff Pi........ Very Jimi......
Song of 4:25?
Cherub Rock - Smashing Pumpkins
@@adampeachfuzz thanks
Fz5 muito show
Boss, hands down
Quando o cara não sabe usar o fuzz face, o som fica uma porcaria kkkkkkkk
Pois é bicho, tem que toppar os knobs e controlar na guitarra 🤦🏻
A strat??! Ok, Jimmi....but beyond that, you're really not showing the fuzz's off well. Should've at least gone HSS...
Boss is the Boss here
Ibanez is my favorite in this bunch
