- Finally I got around to making a video on how to install a radio on my 1989 camaro Iroc-z. This video will show you how to remove your dash plastics to get to your radio, remove your old radio, how to cut and splice your wiring harness and join them with your new radio. The radio that i'm using is the SSL ML46DB with bluetooth.
Here is the wiring diagram: www.iroczone.co...

T15 screwdriver for the face plate of the stereo and aircon control.
Mine is an '88 'preciate the wiring diagram. Got a similar radio to you. All done except connections behind radio so this is good should be the same..???
The wiring to the radio should be the same, very simple left right positive and negative and the power and ground
J Robling hey just wanted to say thank for making a detailed video, i was having an issue with how to hook up my new single din flip up stereo for my 1988 camaro, after watching ur video and also looking at the wire diagram of my camaro and what each color was for i have a greater understanding on how to install it
great thanks for sharing friend cool camaro ^^ cool thanks for being you
Did You Guys Know its Easy and so cool to install a biger radio with Bluetooth ,dvd Touch Screen ? i did that in my Firebird Trans am 86, uhmm just thought i share that
How would you hook up a stock radio with only speaker wires available? My car was butchered before i bought it. Only wires available are the spraker ones.
The harness that is behind the radio has the following:
Black which is ground
Red is power
Blue- memory
Pink- Antenna
Green-dimmer
Brown- PK Lite ( i have no clue what that means)
any idea if that wiring harness would work for an 84 firebird?
hey man I followed you instructions to a t and still noting radio wont kick on I also noticed I don't have a pink wire on my radio harness any ideas?
I ran mine to the fuse box on a switch with my radiator fan. Ain't the best but mine was the same exact way.
i need to know how to remove the radio, in 86 irok-z,
T15 torques
Hey bud how did you uncover the top left torx screw (t15) did you have to remove the plastic underneath the steering wheel? I have a 91 z28 and about to swap to single din not sure how to get that last screw off haven't really tried yet though.
If you have the bottom plastic cover under the steering wheel you need to remove it. There should be visible screw holes for it. Im surprised you have it, most people don't.
Yeah, I'll have to post pictures. Clean ass car, only 60k original miles it was a Sunday driver for an old man where I used to live. Drove 500+ miles to get it, knew it was my car. ^^ I ended up popping the round trim pieces out earlier before work saw there was just two t30s holding it on. Stereo will be here in the AM!!
@@kiernanmcallister6208 mine has 500K Miles its swapped with a boared out truck engine
I hooked it up and the speakers didn't work any suggestions anybody?
Brown tan ..... I don’t even have brown or tan wires dude. It would have made sense if you would have explained what to do in That specific situation...
