Ah, the only time I’ve been to Tampa was on an Eastern jet with one engine out due to no oil pressure. Fire trucks welcomed us but weren’t needed. Mechanic came out with a step ladder and a quart of oil, filled up the engine, waved to us and off we went to Miami. It took all of 20 minutes! LOL.

Hey captain white Sox yesterday’s AREA 51 jet was listed by the FAA as belonging to a production company out of HPN. Great giggly wiggly what a red ant bite. Half the fire station for a gear jam ouch. Stay safe and stay away from the fire ants .

When I lived in Clearwater, Florida from 1988 to 1994 I'd drive to Tampa airport to watch planes from the parking garage as take pictures to pass time on my day off from work I'd also watch from various gares too. Great memories.

Back in the eighties,I was on a Piedmont flight from Orlando, to Pensacola, that had the stuck landing gear problem,I didn't see any fire trucks when we landed, maybe things were different back then.
About an hour later we were back up in the glorious, burning blue with no other issues.
Fire ants, jumping spiders, roaches the size of grasshoppers that fly, heat, humidity and hurricanes.
    There's no ace like home.
    Watch out for those seagulls,Captain!

That sneeze, wow did you get any on ya? :) Gotta keep that office clean for sure. Interesting UAL2057 gear doors had opened, wonder what kept the gear from retracting? Steven, you need some cheese with that whine. :) Very surprised the CFR folks were no closer to the runway for their stand-by positions for UAL2057, makes me curious as to why unless they only declared a precautionary landing, hmmm. Anyway, they swapped aircraft from N410UA (A320) to N817UA (A319) and UAL2057 got to EWR some eight hours late. Once again great video, thanks.

I was on a United flight from ORD to SAN that the landing gear caught on fire during takeoff cause the pilots left the brakes on lol. Thankfully all was okay. But it was sure scary with the cabin full of smoke! Emergency landing was fine but they weren’t sure the front gear would survive (it did). Was cool seeing the fire trucks tho

I was on sun country on feb. 4 red eye from vegas to Minneapolis. We were in the air for 45 mins. when the captain said we were returning due to landing gear trouble. He said they dumped fuel, and they would have the mechanics look at it and hopefully we could leave shortly. When we landed, the right landing gear collapsed and skidded down the runway. I was surprised how straight they kept the plane while skidding down the runway. I swear the fire trucks were hosing it down as we stopped. They were on the ball.

Only time I had fire engines follow me down the runway was when I diverted to Binghampton, NY, one stormy Friday night...I had an autopilot malfunction and instead of fighting the weather, and the plane, I chose to divert and fly the next day instead in clear weather. After explaining the problem to the approach controller, they declared an emergency for me, and they rolled the equipment. it's eerie looking at the PAPI on the left side and seeing blinking red on the right side as well. all ended well, and I was able to continue my flight the next morning...but the fire crews were fantastic and stuck around until I came down from the adrenaline. Once they knew I was ok, they went back to their station.

Steve…I seen a Kalair flight yesterday with its gear down over where I live. The flight made a bunch of circles then landed at Mcdill. After some research, kalair is a private fleet owned by someone in the Mideast. Looks like they left Orlando and realized their gear wouldn’t come back up. At one point, looks like a Chieftan flew very close underneath to get a visual. Shortly after it landed at the afb. Never seen that before. So weird seeing a plane with the gear down so far from an airport. As soon as I seen it I followed in on FR24. It should be on the recorded playback….interesting anyway.
So strange of the same day….close to same time too. I wonder why the Kalair was sent to mcdill? Private plane? Had royalty onboard or diplomats maybe idk. What time did the united flight land with the gear issue??
