This was a fun one to watch but it took medical too long to get to him and the wrap job should have been better. It did appear in large part that Van tried for the most part to avoid messing with the bandaged finger. A great effort by both🙂

Too bad colleges in the USA with a rich tradition of wrestling do not recruit more European wrestlers, as often as talented basketball players are recruited. Faili or Schwalkwyk would be a good fit in some of the top college programs such as Penn State, Iowa or Oklahoma State.

Its U17 at 55kg, unless you get to higher weight class, this class is bound to have skinnier/taller ones at this age. U13 or U15 at 55kg would be a very different story
Kids are bringing in psychology these days: making your competitor in an angry/stressed states with silly shenanigans and play with emotion like "oh, I am already wounded/hurt". This plays with competitor's subconscious mind to be less aggressive, sort of "not want to kick someone who's already wounded". The thumb shenanigan this time. Bendages were also worse than the initial he had. I think some rules should be put in place to avoid psychological games like this one.
