So what's with all the dislikes? Not seeing any reason for it in this. Great and unique style. Gameplay looks smooth. Music has soul to it. Characters look and sound interesting with personality and flavor. Ain't no reason to thumbs down this one.

It definitely gives a stop motion style to the animation that I love, but I think they couldn’t make it work in gameplay when players would expect immediate feedback from button presses.
Yes, the low rate is not appropriate with this art style, makes my brain think the computer can't handle it, I can't ignore it, it's annoying.

This looks very creative, unique, and original! Loving everything I’m seeing so far!! About time we get something original that isn’t just a remake, sequel, etc. Hope the story is good I would guess it at the very least will be entertaining.

The stop motion effect not being in the actually gameplay is pretty disappointing but regardless this games looks pretty fucking sick! Music is phenomenal too!

It is in the actual gameplay. Her character is moving with a "stop motion effect". You can also see it in the birds. It just... doesn't look very good, imo.

I was wondering for a good 20 seconds whether the video wasn't playing correctly, yeah.
I absolutely love the style in the environment, and I'm normally a fan of choppy/stop-motion animation; however, when you mix choppy animation with smooth animations (which is something that can be seen in the background through some water shaders and other vfx), I have to agree with you that the mix reads as buggy to me. I feel like you kind of have to pick a lane here. And I get that playing a 3D platform game in chop-mode might be irritating, especially for a high-paced game like this, but I think the mix between the two just doesn't read well or intentional to me.

For people who can't quite put a finger on it, the choppy framerate is definitely is an artistic choice. The reason it looks different in cutscenes compared to gameplay is because the camera and position of the character are moving at full rate, but the character animations play at half rate. This is presumably to keep it feeling responsive - similar to Guilty Gear for example. I agree it looks a little jarring at first, but I imagine you'll quickly get used it if you aren't hopping between games too much.

The impact of Into the Spiderverse seems to know no bounds. First the rest of the animation industry, now games too. It's my favorite movie of all time but I'm a little cautious on the more direct copycatting, which both this game and Mixtape appear to be doing.
The setting seems cool, feels like it's been awhile since games have attempted a bayou experience, but the gameplay showcased was all now-standard 3rd-person AAA action stuff. Hopefully it'll distinguish itself beyond more than setting and stylistic character framerate choices; interesting enough to see where it goes though.

My one complaint I hope they address is the camera. This kind of art style and atmosphere, especially with the animation style, deservers a more up-close and cinematic/over-the-shoulder camera.

I think it may be because it has platforming in it or maybe eventually multiple enemies? But I understand what you’re saying about the camera I feel like that would fit the game better maybe when outta combat?
I like the camera pushed back, allows things to breath in a more laid back way. Also makes the zoomed in moments more effective.
@@Flyingleper5167 I get that, but feel like I personally soak in things better when it camera is closer. It also helps me get a closer look at the stylized animations.
Though the framerate might hurt some people's experience, so maybe that's why they pulled the camera out.
This sort of hack and slash games shouldnt have a close camera so you can see everything around and dodge groups of enemies and big monster attacks. I dont like the system that God of War uses with relying on signs to tell you that an enemy is attacking off-screen. It makes dodging stuff annoying.

I think this looks cool. The voice acting and banter between the characters was great. Also the character designs like the big fish and the croc are awesome. Only thing I didn't like was the animations and cutscenes having that stuttery, stop-motion aspect. I understand it might be an artistic choice, but it hurts my eyes. :)

What a great looking and fresh looking game. This and Perfect Dark were the games i was most excited for from the show and they didnt disappoint. For those that are claiming frame issues, that is not the case at all. For Movies please reference Spiderman Into the SpiderVerse, Across the SpiderVerse, The Bad Guys, Puss in Boots the Last Stand etc. For games Spiderman Miles Morales, and Spiderman 2 have costumes for Peter and Miles that replicate this exact frame style and works fine even running the actual games at 60 fps. Sorry if yall didnt know this

@@Gnasheress I like the vibe but it doesn't match the style and setting of the game. the bright colors and puffy clothes don't seem like it would match the southern swampy setting. I think the characters outfit in this game fits the setting and theme. I'm hoping they add more outfits since this is just a teaser (:
