I get a lot of questions about the wooden handle for my lens, it was a gift from Edward Russel. If you want to get a hold of one you can email: secretsignwriter@gmail.com
HI Espen, and Alex, so nice to see you both together!. I was going to send to a comment about your puffin pictures so I'll put that with this one. I was so impressed with the Puffin video for a number of reasons, not least of which the superb quality of the pictures and the clever choice of framing and background. You have always demonstrated considerable skill and your own style and it is very nice to see you continue to improve. The other significant point concerns the style of presentation, with your obvious enthusiasm combined with your attention to technical details you offer a coherent narrative with each segment that combines to form a delightful package. You make the whole complex process seem effortless!. Cheers, Richard, and Janet.
I’m watching this from south east Asia with a coffee. Really makes me miss Scotland and the 3 years I spent living on the Isle of Harris. Hoping to head back to the UK soon to pick up my 150-400 lens and hopefully fit in a few days in Scotland. Lovely video and some beautiful Scottish subjects and light.
I can totally relate to your addictiveness to the Isle of Mull! I returned there in May of this year to see the puffins and I'll be returning again in a couple of weeks time hoping to see red deer, otters and the abundant marine life :) Great footage and I loved the shorebird photographs!
I had a fantastic time on Mull about a dozen years ago and really must go back! I was extremely lucky to see a Corncrake on Iona too... It was near the little shop close to the Abbey! Brilliant video and pictures ❤ 👍
My favourite island, wildlife in abundance……..including midges which eat me alive, even if I’m covered in every know repellent. Hence we visit out of midge season if we can. Great vlog👍
I am so happy for you too, hope you had a great time. I miss putting all the hard work and suffering into photography (freezinf, overheating, back and leg pain, uncomfortable from difficult body position, lack of sleep and exhaustion) but i really want to get back into upping the game and making the effort for THE shot.
Such a beautiful place up there with some amazing early light. Those ringed plovers gave you a bit of a run-around, but that tiny wren was the 'catch of the video'. Thanks so much, Espen.
Such a wonderful video! Thoroughly enjoyed watching while I'm stuck inside on a rainy day. Beautiful photos as well. As I've come to expect watching your videos.
Great vlog mate and good to see you back on Mull The South Coast of loch na Keal including the area you got the wren can be good for Irish Hare, especially first light and evenings 👍😃
Was in Mull 2 weeks ago. Stopped at exactly the same spot a couple of times. Got some gorgeous ringed plover shots. Found more luck with Wheatears just along the road from there. Sadly we didn't get that weather but we did get the midges. 🤨
Great to see Espen as I am hiring a Campervan from Tamar near Plymouth next week and going to the Lizard Peninsula Cornwall . Suffering for my photography ! You had great weather for Mull lovely to see . I am still mulling over buying a Campervan, pardon the pun ! 😅
Great video as always! I realy like the drawings you've put in the video but sometimes they dissapear so fast that I couldn't figure out what I was looking at 😂 grt guido
Brilliant blog mate we're going mull in a few days time, like yourself I love doing wildlife photography, can't wait to go, we're going in a campervan too how is mull for free park ups please? Liked and subscribed.
Great video of a great island Espen. Would the guy who send you the handle be able to supply more. I want one for my big Oly lens. Looks really comfortable unlike the rocks and midges 😄

Made me happy the other month to see your using the same camera bag as me ;-) Now to get that 150-400 ...
Love that bag 🙂
You are amazing, I felt your pain as you crawled those pointy rocks. Ouch! 🤪😰
Thank you Deb 🙂

Great video...but soon enough, getting down on uncomfortable rocks won't be the problem, it's trying to get back up when you're done photographing 😅!
😅 I'm sure

Great video Espen but them Midges would do my head in and tbh could not cope with it..
Thanks :) They really are no fun, smidge helped a lot though
You must go back to Iona again. I was there in April and heard a Corncrake but didn't see them either.
Yeah, I'd like to stay there for a few days I think :)
Great to see Espen as I am hiring a Campervan from Tamar near Plymouth next week and going to the Lizard Peninsula Cornwall . Suffering for my photography ! You had great weather for Mull lovely to see . I am still mulling over buying a Campervan, pardon the pun ! 😅

I’m curious what is that handle attached to your lens foot? Seem like a cool bit of kit, great video!
Someone sent it to him. A note flashes up at the top of the screen at 21,07minutes
Thanks
Thanks Bryce! I've asked if he sells them, I'll provide a link on here if he does
Check my pinned comment about the handle 🙂
Fantastic!

nice and enjoyble video as always..did you buy the 150-400 zoom? hows it holding up? Thanks!
Yes I finally did :) Love it!
really unusual vlog. catch you later-💥
Do you use mechanical shutter all the time (i can hear it) ?
Actually I never use it, I just added the sound as I thought it added to the final video
What is the lens foot / palm rest @3:26?
It was sent to me as a gift. makes it very comfortable to support the lens. I've asked if he sells them, I'll provide a link here if he does
