You never forget the first time a deer approaches you it happened to me as I sat along side of a small pond photographing a doe. She was curious about me and walked into the water and directly towards me. My heart was pounding and I was uneasy about her intentions. She was about 6 feet away from me, stopped and gave me a good look then moved on. It was a turning point in my wildlife photography. I spent the next four years learning the behaviors and understanding what to expect with her snd her group. The more time I spent with them the more they accepted my presence and the better my photographs became. Lovely video you shared best wishes for your future endeavors.
Essen, very good story! Yes, please do more videos like this one. I was captivated, on the edge of my chair, waiting for the next chapter in this story. Your images are breathtaking. Hearing about how you set the day up takes me back many years to a time when I had a similar experience planning a blind trip, far from my home to hope to capture a few good images of Bald Eagles. Thanks , again , for presenting your story. In a most captivating way!
An amazing moment and an amazing image. You planned you pled your case to the authorities and your timing was impeccable. Wow, just wow, Espen!!! Keep up the wonderful work👌
A great idea for a series Espen. You highlight, what many people don't realise, the preperation, the time input, and physical effort required to give you the best chance of a great image. Please keep them coming.
I love the story behind the photo. Please keep making videos like this! Hearing about the preparation that goes into “making” a photograph really gives us a better appreciation and understanding of photography. It’s a photo you can really take pride in. Thank you for sharing the experience.
Loved the story behind the image! Yes, quite freaky when something as big and majestic as the Red Deer comes so close, they are quite like the elk we have in the USA. Those antlers alone are very intimidating. I for one would like to see more of this type of video.
Every picture, every recording has its story. You told your story about this recording very beautifully and vividly. I know some of it from my own experience and it's nice that you share your experience so openly, that's also a good suggestion for me. Greetings from Germany, Bernd
Espen, I thoroughly enjoy your story and your photos to include a video. Please continue to offer future photos & video for this Blue Grass Kentucky wildlife photographer ( Shahlea Photography). At 71, I gave up hunting for bird and wildlife photography. I only wish I had started wildlife photography sooner in life.
Loved the format Espen! Absolutely make some more content like this. It's always wonderful to see "behind the sceen" and hear the thought process involved. Thank you for sharing!
What an amazing story and experience. The image you got was earned by careful planning, patience and dedication…a lesson to us all. Thanks for sharing and more please!
I absolutely want more content like this! Great information about planning your backgrounds to complement your subject. Setup and use of the hide. Very useful information. Any followup with the estate/gamekeeper?
wow!!! Amazing dear Espen, i have seen your prior video of this Clip but we didn't know much about the planning and vision you have to get this shot. Love this content very much. Keep doing more. Have a great day.
Hi Espen I really enjoyed the video. Another great production with much informations. I love the Story the big stag got almost to your hide. Greets Stefan
Oh my goodness!! Awesome story telling- I felt like I was there too. I so enjoyed the beautiful videos and photos. Thank you for sharing the amazing ‘making’ of these incredible images.
Hi Espen, its all about the way to the picture. Awesome Story about the Shot. Awesome the majestic deer in the colourful scenery. I have enjoyed it very much. Thank you ✌️ Greetings from Germany
I recently found your channel, and also signed up to take your OM camera course, as I’m new to the Olympus camera system. Being an outdoor videographer based here in Alberta Canada, I really enjoyed this particular video. Taking us along on this journey is a great way to showcase the time and effort it takes to capture such and amazing photo. Looking forward to more of this kind of content.
Great photo Espen, really like this format where you talk through how you got the image as opposed to just going out & showing images that you managed to capture on a particular trip. Looking at an image & knowing the story of how that image was captured just adds more depth to it if that makes any sense. Looking forward to more content like this. I was wondering if you had thought about doing a similar video but about either Otters or Eagles? That would be great.
dear espen, as always wonderful story and footage! once we I will meet you in scotland and we will have fun for photographing. you are offering workshops etc. so, I will take one of these opportunities.
Great story wit happy end: An amazing beautiful image if the stag! We - being no pros - are appreciating a lot the story behind as we can learn a lot. Thanks!
