oh yes, there are some fantastic ones for sale (including a very traditional one with traditional "dagger-steel" sharpeners, most people mistake them for knives, it's normally $90 and it's $25 on amazon right now)
"I'm about 255lbs, and I bring the rage, I bring the anger when I chop." LOL, that's awesome. I didn't think you were such a hefty guy, you carry it well.
I wish you could of included one of my favorite chopper's in that bunch the Ka-Bar Swabbie, on both of my knives the Swabbie and the Zomstro I put the Black Handles on them and now they don't look like a toy anymore but great Survival/Tactical Knives, I do use mine in the bush, I always liked this video and it's in my favorites, Thanx Israel.
That kabar bowie is a great budget large knife. Still no complaints on my end, just took it on a 4 day camping trip and did everything i needed of it and more. only blade i brought
Here's another suggestion, Israel, one of set's I really enjoy, and it's a handsome set is another Becker and Ka-Bar combo, it's my BK-17, BK-7, and the Ka-Bar Swabbie, although one of my Becker best Chopper/Batoning knife, and paired off with the BK-10, and the BK16, is my BK-9, it's a thinner, Saber Grind, excellent for wood processing, my BK-7 isn't far behind, it doesn't have the weight of the BK-9, that's why the Swabbie, I just wish the Swabbie was included in this video, a little longer than the Zomstro, and I think a little better to baton with, than the Zomstro, although, in the Ohio wood's, I have no problem chopping wood in my state, with the Zomstro, since I am a 3knife carry guy, the BK-17, BK-7, and the Swabbie, can be one of my great's, but I have to admit, my BK-9, BK-10, and the BK-16, is one of my wood processing favorite's
Rage Against the Pallet! While it did stick the Zomstro was clearly the best cutter. It cut cfleaner and did far less smashing. I might have to look into one of those for the yard
Andrew McGibbon It basically did sheering cuts, like a butcher with a meat cleaver can clean cut meat into sections, whereas the two large blades with primary bevels will tend to kind of split the target, the bevels push the wood apart which does have a smash/crack/split effect.
I don't think it's a fair test the pallet is dry and brittle wood. I think the knives should be tested in the woods where the trees are laying down on the ground and you either have to bend over or get on your knees to chop the wood standing up gives you a lot of leverage.
I think you mean it is not difficult enough, but of course here on RUclips you see many videos where there is no usage of the blades at all, so what do you say we start with easy stuff and I can always make some harder tests in the future? But this is an old video, my newer ones are much better, I think you will like them.
Awesome demo. I have the large heavy Bowie and like it fine, however been thinking about the Cutlass. Both the Kukri and the cutlass chop well and the Kukri maybe a little better, but for some reason when I swing a Kuk it seems like the want to twist in hand. I think I would feel more accuracy and control with the cutlass. Still debating though.
Hello Israel, your right I do like my Zomstro, but I apologize if you felt I was being negative especially You, I wasn't and I enjoy You and Your video's , but I also got a new toy it's the Swabbie, please if possible do a video on it, I changed the handles to black and now they don't look like toys but great bush tools, Thanx Israel, and I'm sorry if I sounded negative.
I'm pretty happy with what I have, and I filter my knives with video's like your's and some other's, as far as camera work, I think it would take the pleasure out of doing something, but Thanx for considering me.
I live in Ohio, about a 1 hour drive east is Pa, and I have almost a complete set of Becker BK's, my BK-17, BK-7, and the Ka-Bar Swabbie, is probably my favorite set, in my wood's, I find my Zomstro is pretty good too, in my wood's, along the east coast, knowing the type of wood's, an ax is not a tool you would use, a machete, a Woodsman Pal, a Ka-Bar Zomstro, a Ka-Bar Swabbie, will bring down 2"-3" sapling's very sufficiently, much better than an ax, because the sapling sway's, and gives, when you chop at it, but then too, I baton with my Zomstro too, granted, for batoning, my BK-9 rock's, it's paired off with my BK-10, and my BK-16, an excellent set. It rained over the weekend, and was cool, so I went out, and built a shelter, and processed some wood for a fire, I have it paired off with my B-2, and my BK-16, sometime, I pair it off with the O.K.C. Gen2 SP-51, or my O.K.C. Gen2 SP-53, next to my Straight Handle Battle Mistress LE, and my Swamp Rat Rodent 9, or my Bark River Bravo 3 in 3V, the 53 is a great chopper, the SP-53 can be one of my favorite chopper's, I also like my Bark River Golok too, and my Fox Hitam Golok, but I mean chopping, yes the Zomstro is a deep cutter, but once you work with it a while, and my type of wood's, I really like it, but anyhow, Israel, Thanx for taking it through its pace's, Thanx, Bro.
Damn, you have quite a collection, man. You should consider making some videos some time. Processing the wood and making that shelter would be an excellent video that I think a lot of people would enjoy seeing. Also, I would never complain about seeing a Busse or Swamp Rat, and that Hitam looks good, too.
I like your channel overall but in this video for example when reviewing the blade your display all of them while speaking about one in particular. How do we know which one you r are currently talking about. i know we can attempt research it but i would just think you would make it a little easier for the viewer
+MacSYNtv You don't like the visual of the 4 epic big blades? Come on, man! Get with the program, this is a channel for steel lovers! No need'to feel all nervous or confused, let out a primal yell every so often!
I love the blades i just wish you signaled with blade you were talking about when you were talking about that specific blade...btw thanks your reviews help me pick out my 2 machete
Say Heah Is, One of my Cold Weather Combo's is my O. K. C. Gen2 SP-53 and my Ranger T. F. I. (Tactical Force Infidel) But I love using my Ka-Bar ZT Zomstro as my Japanese Hatchet, it's a great forming tool similar to a Carpenter Hatchet. I wish you would of included the Johnson Adventure Parangatang. It's one of my Fav's Summer Long Knives, but I also can use it in colder weather.,,.p
For splitting kindling, batoning wood, which blade is best that you know of for not too much money? I'm saying out of all the knives and machetes and everything you know of, which one?
Hey, I'm looking at getting either the cutlass or the kukri. For a general brush and woods knife (so a lot of chopping, battoning, etc.), which would you recommend?
Hi Israel, I keep running into this video, and I luv it, but if you ever have a chance check out the Ka-Bar Swabbie I think it's even your style of knife, I have the Ka-Bar Zomstro but that Swabbie is a big motha, one that would give you a big headache
Say Heah Is, as of 10-2017 Ka-Bar is having a sale on some ZT Zombie Choppers. Infact I just ordered (2) ZT PESTILENCE CHOPPERS for $80.00 include shipping. My ZT Pestilence Choppers are made in the U. S. A. and both are in the 1095 CroVan Carbon Steel. Awesome. I think it's a great price. So nowI'¡¡ have a Black Handle and a Brown Handle Set, I also just bought another Johnson Adventure Parangatang. Yeah, the Handles are interchangeable, WoW, Your a Big'Boy, I played semi pro outside linebacker at 242 lbs.,,.p
I can't wait for the BK Brute to come out in production soon, "I heard it through the grapevine", it will be a great combination to my BK-2 so I don't have to pair it with the Zomstro that I do now or to get a little out of the box I sometime combine it with the Gen2 SP-51 not bad especially when I process wood for my hot cup of coffee on the open fire, that's why I like my BK-7 and my BK-17 combo, I know the BK-7 is a bit lighter of a chopper so I added the Swabbie which I think you would be much happier with than the Zomsfro, it's more your style, and besides it's a much nicer natural combination because even the tips match nicer. and the Swabbie is a chopper. I changed the handles to black and now it look's like a knife instead of a toy, unless you like playing being a pirate, heh heh heh
I want all of these, but so far I only have the cutlass...ooc, which one of these is your all around favorite, if you say, had to get rid of all but one of them?
Personally Israel, I don't think you represented the Zomstro properly, it seemed as you had no interest in it because you said it wasn't a wood chopper, that it bit deep, yet, I find it does chop well, it might not baton as well, because of its full flat grind, it takes a little more elbow grease to baton with, but paired with my BK-2, and my BK-16, the set is very functional, it is a slicer, and I feel it is more like a machete, it works great on saplings where an axe, might push the thinner sapling more, and you might need a machete action better, but the lenght, and weight of it, enables you to process wood just fine. I had to re-view this video again, and I carefully watched, this of cource is my opinion, and I do value your opinion.
paulie 4x But, we should mention that you own a Zomstro and we previously discussed it is one of your favorite blades, so it is likely any reviewer will not seem as into it as you are.
This just furthers my belief that the kukri is king.
oh yes, there are some fantastic ones for sale (including a very traditional one with traditional "dagger-steel" sharpeners, most people mistake them for knives, it's normally $90 and it's $25 on amazon right now)
"I'm about 255lbs, and I bring the rage, I bring the anger when I chop." LOL, that's awesome. I didn't think you were such a hefty guy, you carry it well.
I didn't see you at Blades Anonamiss last night it was a great session we talked about our blade fetish & our feelings
I don't have feelings, just a solid core that is cold, so very cold.
that's wut im sayin ,when they said feelings..i said was is that? lol
This satisfies my knife cravings. It is therapeutic for me.
Excellent, you have come to the right place.
I like the Zomstro.
Thanks for bringing the rage, brother! :D
Great video! Bought me the kukri.
just picked up the cutlass, cant wait to use it

Kabar Cutlass or Ontario SP53...better chopper?
The Ka-bar Cutlass is longer than the SP53. But, if the SP53 were made the same length as the Cutlass, the SP53 would be better.
Thanks for the reply brother ;)-

do you ever get nervous swinging blades while you're holding things up with the other hand?
kukri = raw power it builds up so much more force from the heavy end
Loved the video Bro! could you do a cutting test using different styles of Swords and on different targets?
Kukri is probably my fav

Check out the Ontario SP8, it is a tough workhorse, around $50.
I would love to get your take on the cold steel all terrain chopper. Think u could make that happen?
You should use your lanyard with all of your big blades
Yeah lanyards definitely help, I use them a lot more now.
Hey, I'm looking at getting either the cutlass or the kukri. For a general brush and woods knife (so a lot of chopping, battoning, etc.), which would you recommend?
I would recommend the kukri, it's a bit stronger.
Sweet, thanks!
Which kukri would be better? Ontario or ka bar?
a athore epic battel of the knife's
greetings from a belgian fan and subcriber

Kukri #1
Hi Israel, I keep running into this video, and I luv it, but if you ever have a chance check out the Ka-Bar Swabbie I think it's even your style of knife, I have the Ka-Bar Zomstro but that Swabbie is a big motha, one that would give you a big headache
You should do the same with cold steel.

Where do you get all these pallets? Lol
Knowing the Pakistani guy at the gas station has its benefits.
vary cool machetes
NICE!
I want all of these, but so far I only have the cutlass...ooc, which one of these is your all around favorite, if you say, had to get rid of all but one of them?
DShiflet01 I would keep the Kukri, followed by the Cutlass.
Sweet. The kukri is the one I was planning on getting next out of the 4 as well.
How much money is the zomstro
Tank
what do you do with all those wood chunks after the chop smashing lol
That250Guy I throw them in your yard
Show us "dedicated" wood chopper demonstration please.
Dedicated wood choppers would be axes and hatchets. I have shown many axes and hatchets.
WeAllJuggleKnives Indeed you have. Thanks for all your reviews, they are required viewing before I buy anything.
sacodeweas fooomeee
2 and 4 were the best. 3 was the worst. I like #2 the best.
This is knife porn, nowonder I am and addict
Nice :)
You want a big enough blade to where if u wanted to keep a few inches on reserve u can. Lol all jokes aside for chopping bigger is better.
Left hand....hurg...
