The Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri was inspired by Cold Steel President, Lynn C. Thompson’s close association with Dr. Maung Gyi, chief instructor of the American Bando Association, and a renowned martial artist with wide-ranging knowledge and skills. Under Dr. Gyi’s tutelage, Lynn gained insight into the full potential of the Kukri and learned it was not just a chopping weapon but a piercing, slashing, and smashing weapon as well. Smashing techniques allow the Kukri to function as a hammer or mallet or to deliver non-lethal blows in a self-defense role. A concentrated blow with the back of the blade can break bones or be lethal if directed at the head.
With Dr. Gyi’s input, Thompson designed a longer, narrower point for the Gurkha Kukri with more distal tapering to the spine. This resulted in a thinner, sharper point which can be deeply driven into thick, tough targets with minimal effort.
Finally, a masterfully designed Kray-Ex handle was added to maximize the blade’s fierce potential. Perfectly contoured and deeply checkered, it offers a superb non-slip grip and cushions the hand from the shock of the hardest blow.
    Keith Beam aka stickman

I personally know several families of gurkhas. The gurkhas are not mercenaries. They are part of the british army. Prince Harry even carried a Kukhri in Afghanistan.

9.5 oz? Keith, you really should run your script past Lynn before you record your videos. The Gurkha Kukri Plus weights 22.9 oz. For some strange reason, the default weight listed on the CS website for most of your big blades seems to be 9.5 oz no matter the size. However, when they go into distribution, only then (if then) do the actual weights get posted on the site. Please, do yourself and your customers a favor and check with Lynn or your current production manager to get the actual weight on a product before recording any advertising videos. PS. Even your 2.8mm thick Kukri machetes weight 16 oz, so a 7mm thick Gurkha Kukri is naturally going to weight a lot more.

@@csknives I've owned Cold Steel products for over 30 years and would really like to see the company do well. This is the type of "growing pains" mistake you often see when a new entity buys a company from the founder, who built and therefore knows the company from the ground up. You can still fix the audio and graphic on the weight and upload a new version of the video to help fix the problem. You should also look into getting the correct weights on your products on your website. Your main on-line retailers for your products seem to have the correct weights for your products, so should you.
