+Jane Ray I can understand why. I am a great fan of Ennio Morricone and he definitely has composed some of the most striking music ever written.

+Cool2BCeltic +Jane Ray I fell in love with Chi Mai on Sat 30th August 1997. There is a long story behind that but suffice to say it led me to buy an Ennio greatest hits and see him live in New York, Verona and London twice.

The theme music is deliciously haunting. I can understand why people liked it. This is the second time I've seen the series. Oh btw, both men were geniuses. One passed the bar with honors, and went on to run the practice by himself, and David was a talented parliamentarian.

Judging by this School scene one can understand why LLoyd George dveloped into a Great Statesman and did what he did to improve the lives of those who fell on hard times. Apart from one or two politicians of today very few match up to what this Man did. Too busy worried about what the polling thinks.

Wow I remember this as a child. There's a massive boulder next to that river, that every member of my family since 1926 has sat atop and had their picture taken. Most recently my daughter as a newborn in 2008 and then again as a small child in 2013. No idea if it was the same river used for this series.

@@sirobertson7806 I didn't know. I meant the same river historically, regardless of whether this was shot on location. It's a really steep descent to the river from the road - there are plenty of rivers that would look kind of the same but with better accessibility.

irish1 Actually he was a great friend to Ireland, he was put in an impossible place during the (so called) Great War.
I say this as the son of an Old I.R.A. Volunteer. I have mixed feelings about the man but he and John Redmond hobbled the
House of Lords, making it possible to pass Home Rule for Ireland. He can not be blamed for the U.V.F. or “Kaiser Bill”.
It’s easy to make the mistake of judging people out of their time and circumstances.
