One of my coworkers year's ago when my triplets were born said that it is so great when you have kids. It gives you full permission to be a kid again. As I age I realize what great wisdom is in that statement. A lot of people want a redo on being a kid again. Enjoy the moment and live through your child's eye. It is such fun and a great way to connect with them.

Kaylee that’s what I said a few days ago about raising chickens. It’s more than just having the meat and eggs and knowing it’s clean food that I raised. There’s this weird satisfaction. I can’t explain, but I am so proud of myself. I’m finally responsible for every aspect of the food I put in my mouth. I never thought about it until I put those two chickens in the freezer last week after processing them… My first two ever. And all of a sudden I just had this great feeling come over me & peace and joy and happiness that I was finally self-sufficient. I have my homestead, my water well, some solar power, my chickens, and my garden is always expanding as I make new compost from the chickens manure & the Pineneedles out here. Every year I have to go into town less and less. I’m to the point where I can sit out here on my homestead for two months without ever going into town. My goal is a year without leaving the Homestead for any reason. I just want to see if I can do it. And you are the reason I started chickens because I saw your chicken video and then I started watching more chicken videos that kept popping up in my feed and next thing you know I’m doing the chicken math and I’ve got six dozen eggs in the refrigerator right now and six more chickens to process out in the meat bird pen. I want to get a couple of goats, bees, and a few rabbits. Then I wanna see if I can do absolutely everything required for life right here on my Homestead. I want to make a feather bed. I want to make a rabbit fur bedspread. I want to make my own candles. I already make my own soap. And here I thought my retirement was going to be lonely, sad, boring, and bitter because I don’t have any family and I moved to a place where I don’t know anybody. But I’m having a blast. Good luck to you on your coffee competition, Jordan. Let’s hope they don’t cheat again like they did last year. They seem to have their favorites if you know what I mean. But I’m sending you some energy. ☮️

Make your retirement what you want! Stay healthy and keep moving.
It's not always easy, but keep it fun!
I'm rooting for you and your goal to make as few trips to town as you can - unless it's just for fun or learning.
      Don't disconnect from positive people.

That water heater needs air to operate proper. Being in an 100% enclosed box is a fire hazard. The bottom should have been a mesh screen and the top concrete board not wood. Also the hood you installed on the vent looked like it was plastic that is going to melt.

Oh my goodness! The cow running away when you said, "What are you doing in here?!" So funny! Also, I LOVE what you shared about the La Comarca coffee. Had to get a bag. I will cherish it. And yes, when you become keenly aware that the things that happen to you don't just happen to you, your sense of caution is heightened. Also, I love seeing the way that you two are in love with Sadie. Lots of people just have kids and most parents love their kids, but not all parents are IN love with their children, and seeing what you share is beautiful. Thank you for letting us be a witness to it. I'm convinced that's why Sadie's so bright and spunky -- she's being thoroughly engaged as a valued tiny human. I'm so with you on the desire to just plow through and get things done, but if there's one thing doing projects at home has taught me, it's to be patient with myself and more realistic about the time I actually have available. There's only one of me, and wanting it more, getting frustrated, or not getting enough sleep won't help anything. Give yourself a lil' more grace. ;) Last note, you may want to round off the outer corners of the box (I know it's been sanded multiple times already), so that if it gets bumped on a night time trip to the bathroom, it's only a bump or bruise and not a scratch or gash -- just a thought. Stay safe!!

I am 65 yrs old, and when I was growing up, a large percentage of people had grandparents or uncles and aunts that were in agriculture, so we grew up knowing where our food came from. We ate locally and seasonally. We farm in western Canada, and notice that as society becomes more urban, the disconnect from foods origins has people giving less value to farmers. It’s quite sad.

I am sure all of your subs and myself are sending good thoughts and prayers that you win in Panama City and then head off to the big event in the States. I have watched your videos for quite a while and have seen you perform well under pressure. You, Kaylee and Sadie did 48 States in 48 Days spreading your love all over the states and Love is utmost in this life which is what you practice with the natives in Panama and all the other places you go and buy coffee so I know that the good you show will come back to you and your family with success so that you can continue to be able to bless those farmers and pay them well above what others might pay. Be blessed and be safe and of course prosper.

When making popcorn, ( and have a large enough pan) try adding 1-2 Tbs of sugar and a pinch of salt to the pan, after the popcorn seeds. Keep that pan shaking as it pops! Then you'll have the best tasting kettle corn ever! No need for butter or anything else. And less sugar is usually better for any problems, as too much sugar burns Rather than Caramelizing as one may think. Also, I prefer using white popcorn vs yellow as I think it produces a lighter fluffier result. Enjoy! Love your journey, thanks for sharing such an inspiration of life's possibilities...

I so agree with you on being disconnected from where our food comes from 10 years we city born and breed family moved to the country. Lol. The learning was more like the rings of Jupiter but the biggest thing that hit me squarely between the eyes was my chickens. When I think of the times we ate and either didn’t finish or wasted chicken meat from the supermarkets not even having a fraction of a second to remember the chicken who loved to peck around-who came when called-who had a great personality...it breaks my heart. My chickens are free range and I enjoy them daily being chickens while down the road within eye sight is a chicken production business where chickens are born, raised and die never seeing the light of day to enter the grocery store shelves and sadly never given the respect they deserve for the food they provide. Side note. Never knew the process evolved with eating a carrot that didn’t come from a plastic bag on a shelf either.....lol. Another curve... love your channel. Love how you are helping the coffee growers. Good job.

Heck when I saw theses kids’ video about chickens, I said who needs mental health help or medication anymore. I just got chickens and everything worked itself out. I’m not kidding! But two years ago, I divorced out of a toxic marriage of 19 years, sold everything in the city and bought a tiny half acre Homestead in a national Forest out in East Texas and live the tiny life now all by myself. It was an adjustment and I had to change my mind about what loneliness actually is and now everything’s great. Every single day I have too much to do and I don’t even need to leave the Homestead. I don’t have time to feel sorry for myself or be depressed and my brain chemistry with clean water and clean food and sunshine and clean air has just straightened out in ways that I could’ve never even imagined whenever I lived in the city. I was on a walker and needing to use my wheelchair sometimes so I put in ramps whenever I first got here… thinking at any moment I’m gonna have to go into the wheelchair and have home healthcare workers babysitting me out here. Nope. I haven’t used the walker or the wheelchair at all since I’ve been here and the ramps are just there in case. It makes it easy to move out of the house furniture.., that’s it. I’ve only used my cane 3 times in 2 1/2 years and one of those times was because I took a fall from doing something stupid and hurt my knee. it’s fine now though. And I’m doing yoga and RUclips is my best friend because of all the frequency music and yoga classes and that helps me avoid mental healthcare and medical healthcare. I’ve never been happier in my entire life. I wish I had done this 10 years ago. Good luck with your process and I hope you find a natural remedy and peace for your soul. ❤ ☮️

Your daughter is absolutely the cutest and sweetest thing.I have seen in a long long time. All little girls are cute, but she has the most charming voice. And her maniserisms are amazing. I honestly could watch a video just of her playing and talking and singing and doing what little girls do.

Adding to the work shop, in other words upgrade the workshop into the home you want to have on Lola's farm, I think it's a great idea Jordan, add more rooms, like build around the workshop build a second floor , expand if you will. The bathroom and deck , just a beautiful job Jordan, keep going buddy. Love to know what you think bud. Best of luck Jordan and Kaylie and Saydie.

Sitting down with a cup of La Comarca this morning. This is undoubtedly the best coffee I have ever experienced in my life. It's actually mind boggling how smooth and flavorful it is. No sugar or creamer needed, it's just pure heaven in a cup. Holy Cow!

Jordan, you will be just fine, your sincerity, your passion and your beautiful blue eyes will guarantee a win😁 I did not know you had any organic coffee!! So I snagged some Comarca Med roast!💜👍🏼. I have been following you since Jackie helped your dad surprise you shorty after you purchased your land. I was in Boquete shortly after that doing a reconnaissance visit to see if I wanted to be an Expat there. Loved Panama, couldn't work out timing to visit Lola's Farm but decided I was not ready to leave U.S. full time. Much Love from St George, UT❤❤❤

You go from being a total pro.About your coffee and then saying I just don't know what glue I bought. That's perfect editing and very funny. I remember.
Why i've been watching you guys for what 5 6 years.

I ordered some beans and ground, but I don't like messing with grinding for some reason, and I am not enough of a connoisseur to know the difference in a cup. I know smooth from acidy but not much more. When I buy cheap stuff, I salt it in the brewing and it is more drinkable. I only buy organic though. As for popcorn, olive oil is the best choice, add a few kernels until one pops, then put a single layer of popcorn only, tight, but only one layer and you will get a full pot without blowing the lid off. I am a popcorn connoisseur if not coffee... 🙃

Hoping you win Jordan! We want you to know we admire your work ethic It’s amazing what you all have accomplished on your land with the sweet community of folks you’re working with - that alone is a great accomplishment.. Kaylee you’re an awesome Mommy. What a parenting team you two make. ❤❤❤
I can’t imagine being able to manage
all those animals and projects. Kudos to you and the gang.
Also wonderful that you can pay the growers of the Comarca a good price for their beans. One day when we visit the USA we’ll buy some. Canadian exchange makes it too expensive here on a Senior’s income.

What an AMAZING story about your relationship with the coffee growers, how upstanding of you to appreciate them and pay them a fair dollar by choice. That relationship is most important. Warms my heart that as you are growing and bettering your life and business, you are helping others and bringing them along on your journey.
