The difference between Rolling Stones and CCR imo : you can cover songs of the stones , but you can´t cover songs of CCR, It would sound hilarious. Maybe it is Fogertys voice.
Vietnam war era. I was young at that time but still remember the music of CCR being played in our neighborhood. Vietnam is near my Country. I lived in a City with an American base and there was a place just walking distance from our house named "Fleet Reserve" and every Weekend, the US servicemen with their wives or dates would have dances and CCR music would be played. Memories!
The original by CCR is still the only version I care to listen to. There have been a lot of people who have covered it, but even John Fogerty later in life doesn't sound the same. His voice was raw and powerful during these years and fortunately I was there to hear it the first time.
Man, I could listen to this song for the rest of my life. It has helped me through hard times with frustration. When I listen to this song, I feel like everything stops. So peaceful...
It's nice to know that people are still looking up John Fogerty. What a lovely young man he was, born in 1946, a couple of years older than me.I hope he is doing well now. Thanks, John, I still listen to your great voice, and it brings back those memories. Music evokes some of the most powerful memories, especially as a person gets older. Best wishes.
Michael u Bagnato and little do you know what his brother and the other two band mates Stu Cook and Doug Clifford did to John When Fantasy Records basically gave them and out on their contracts as long as they turned on John and None of them stood tall for John while He Got Pimped by Fantasy records and they wouldn't let him sing his Own songs that He Wrote . And when another Company Bought Fantasy out , The New company paid John and gave him the Rights to his Own Songs , So F---k those other guys in CCR , John IS CCR !!!!!
My dad died 2 weeks ago. 4 weeks ago was the first time i saw him in 3 years and the last time. Last friday was the funeral. This was one of his fav songs, and was played on the funeral. I still cant believe he left me at 13 years old...
Your dad left you with his beloved music continue to enjoy listening to this music it will calm your mind and your spirit. You are still growing into a young man. Go forth in life remember your father and cherish your Dad’s memories. Love ones leave behind family’s for different reasons it’s not your fault that Daddy left. The Lord had a reason it’s up to you to embrace his memories and enjoy your life. Play this song whenever you are lonely or thinking of your Dad. This song will warm your heart ❤️💕❤️. Wishing you all the blessings and happiness that comes your way. ❤️💕❤️.
Guaranteed he loved you! You are his son forever in his heart. Sometimes things happen with mom\dad relationships and life takes a turn. Just know if it could have been different he would want you by his side forever. Now, it’s what you do with this that matters most! Be encouraged! Use it for the good of you and others and God will use this as stepping stone for you to grow stronger! And to help others get through hard times too! Just Know You Are Loved!! And many people here are 🙏 praying for you🥰 and you can stop this in your family line. And do things differently! God Bless You! God is the best Daddy Ever!! Use this situation to know Your Papa God in Heaven and you will be skyrocketed to the 4th dimension and be provided for by God if you Believe in Him! 🙏😃 I am praying for You! Many Blessings to you!
I remember my Uncle 'Johny' John Duncan. Singing and dancing to this song at the top of his lungs. I loved that man. I like to think that today, when I sing and dance and stomp my feet, it is he that lives inside of me... Singing and dancing and living that moment like it is our last. I love you Uncle! RIP and always live within me. Your nephew, Mark Duncan

This was the first song of my dads funeral.. This was the favorite music of Vietnam combat warriers so my dad said. This was his favorite band. He was a combat Medic and a hero without many awards because he refused to accept a purple heart etc... we played this off youtube for him on his death bed and he sang along with it I will never forget, the love........ for Earth, humans, life, his children, ...he made me promise not to cry and to always be happy and enjoy my life or he would be upset....im happy dad...im glad u told me to stay happy!!!! This is what all fathers want and mothers to be exact and God wants us to be happy. It will be done, lol! Until I see you again...I will be happy I promise! Love is out there!!! My late husband wanted Midnight Special played at the church when we were married. I said "no way". So we compromised, I agreed to play it at his funeral. Guess what?! We blasted it at the funeral home. Some thought it was an odd choice of music for a somber event. However, my man got his wish and I have no regrets. I miss you Frank.
Thank you for sharing your dads story. I am in tears listening to the song at same time. This one has also history in my life but that is not to share.
My father passed away 19 years ago, and my mother recently told me that he used to love this song. Never heard it until just now, but it seems like a "him" kinda song.
dedicate this song to my beautiful mum, this was our song since i can remember... and i played it at her funeral in june just like she always wanted.. love you mum xxxxx
It's odd to think about most people here are reminicing as their parents who loved this song passed, which implies younger generations are being introduced to CCR, may many blessings be brought to those who passed and many thanks for sharing this band with their kids.
What a fantastic band! One piece of musical art after another! They give me the shivers. In a good way. I will never get bored with these guys I was so lucky to discover in my youth. Greetings from Norway.
I prefer to be back on 70s 80s and 90s because the time is so slow and chillin and so many good as best musics and the life is no hassle or tension., The Vibes is best
My tender years of childhood, in my family home, when it was raining I stayed a long time watching the falling rain listening to this beautiful music with my sisters never more of those sincere and wonderful times, so many unforgettable memories. The youth does not return any more remains the wonderful songs thanks CCRVEVO.
No idea what the meaning of this song is, but my interpretation, since I was young, is: we all think we've seen the end of our rope, or so we think, but it's all our own perception and that everyone may or may have not felt the same way. In reality, life goes on....
As many a John Fogerty would have wanted to write with the other "guys" (brother Tom, Stu Cook and Doug Clifford )who were back biting him from Proud Mary onward...
Lina Landi OR how many John wanted to get sued for by Saul Zandez and Fantasy Records along with the other guys from the band. Old Man Down the Road, Centerfield Rock and Roll Girls
Senza dubbio una delle più belle canzoni al mondo. Più la ascolti è più ti entra in testa. La voce di john fogerty e inimitabile . Sopratutto in questo pezzo. Creato con un arrangiamento unico. I miss the time when bands played quality music like this ... simple melodies, no synthesizers, no melodyne ... there was not so much crap on the radio ... I miss this period where the musicians were musicians and not only popular people on twitter who try without much success sing ...
I wasn't even a life when this guys were around but I love this band I wish I would I could of gone to one of there concerts . I bet it was an amazing experience!! I feel the connection brothers to the ones that love this band! This band is amazing even if they not around ! True legends 💪. Much love and respect thank you for the art u have given us🙏.
