    4.5 year no booze for me now but it works the same as coke in terms of addiction. This guy is wise, cut ties with people you get on it with for 3 months at least. 3 months is how long it takes to properly break the habit. There will be a point maybe a few weeks or a month in where you feel quite depressed because you realise you have to deal with your own thoughts and feelings instead of hiding from them but get past that and you're good, you'll never look back.

    • @ibizalplate
      @ibizalplate Год назад

      How do you cut ties if you live with the only person you do it with 🤦🏼‍♀️🙄

    • @JakeLDS
      @JakeLDS Год назад

      @@ibizalplate I used to live with one of my best mates. We used to get on it together often. When I quit he wouldn't accept it and was always on my case to stop being a p*ssy and get on it with him. Literally tried forcing stuff on me a few times. Eventually I moved out and now we barely speak. I realised that a lot of our relationship revolved around us getting fucked up together. It's a shame but as a whole my life is better, I'm happier. If your friend can accept your decision then fine, but if they won't you need to choose you, your health and your sanity over them.

      Most people want a bag after drinking. Drinking is the biggest gateway. I’ve noticed if I have one pint I’m good. Two pints I turn into bag mode. Best thing is to stop drinking. It’s weird if someone came up to me and said do a line (when I hadn’t had any drink) I wouldn’t even do it and it would be easy to say no. Drink is the biggest problem. This went on every weekend sat or sun never both for about 10 years. After a about 10 years of doing this and I was a light user only ever did it pissed, I thought we are having what I call a false laugh, it went on till 4 in the morning and the horrors have set in. So I just knocked it on the head, you just avoid having a beer for a few years till it gets to the point you ain’t going out with your old mates anymore. @@menacetosobrietypodcast Thanks bud I’ve just saw your reply, thank you for it. The gear has fucked up my life so bad. I went from barely using a small line to rattling. 6-9 G a night. That’s half gs at .4. I’ll snort a half as a line but never used it as a social drug. I was selling it so could take loads when I wanted. I was told I had cancer and used the gear to get me out of depression for a bit. I’d sit at home with my drivers doing the work just sitting through the night taking it. It sounds so sad but it seems the only thing that was helping. I hit a low one week end and phoned 111 to see if I could get some help. I told them during the conversation that I was suicidal and I was thinking of hitting someone to go to prison to get away from it. They traced my phone and they kept me talking till 4 armed police surrounded my car. I asked for help and ended up done with possession of a knife and concerned in the supply of drugs. I need to get something done or I don’t think I’ll see this year out. Sorry for hitting you with a downer just need to talk to someone who understands. Thanks for the answer it meant a lot. Stay strong brother. C from Glasgow.

    Just came across this, think it’s brilliant and a lot of people will benefit from this talk,, iv been through all these scenario’s, one thing I disagree with tho, there’s a difference between a habit and addiction, if your using once a week just say a Friday, that isn’t addiction that’s a habit,, an addiction is where you need it and if you don’t have it you withdraw and rattle,, there’s a big difference,, I live all the points that are made,, there should be more awareness about this,,

    This is unbelievably high quality programming. Dan & Elliot bounce off each other with pure unfiltered no BS frank discussion. A lot of people misunderstand addiction and I've never seen anything so on point and giving the facts and knowledge to spread awareness.
    So many people's psychological stability gets blown away from the long term negative side effects of coke and mdma. People often suffer alone in their negative experiences and conclude they're the only ones with issues or think they're a weaker man for not being able to tolerate their comedowns.
    Us lads often only want you to see the sunny side of the party lifestyle and real honest discussion like this often isn't talked about for fear of showing weakness but this is real street level education.
    I was addicted 20 years ago and there were few resources or support but we're blessed in these times that people are opening up and coming together about mental health.
    Mdma and E's certainly had unique challenges on a weekly addiction but cocaine has potentially much more serious side effects and seems to be much more addictive.
    Keep up the good work Dan, you are a really decent bloke that lots of people look up to
