1990 von den beiden Zwillingen Erik "Tyrant" und Per "Hellbutcher" Gustavsson in Westschweden gegründet, hat sich die Band Nifelheim dem Black Metal im Stil der 1980er Jahre verschrieben. Zu ihren Einflüssen zählen sowohl skandinavische Bands als auch die frühen Venom und Hellhammer.
Nach der Veröffentlichung ihrer ersten Demoaufnahme 1992 bekamen Nifelheim direkt mehrere Angebote von Plattenfirmen für einen Vertrag. 1994 folgte das erste Album "Nifelheim".
Live performen die Fünf ihre mitreißenden und haarsträubend schnellen Songs in hautengen Lederklamotten, die mit Killernieten besetzt sind. Als wäre das nicht genug Black Metal-Klischee, haben sie beispielsweise ihre eigenveröffentlichte EO "Unholy Death" im Jahr 2000 teilweise mit Menschen- und Ziegenblut beschmiert. Die Texte von Nifelheim handeln genreüblich von Themen wie Satanismus, Zerstörung, Sodomie und Krieg.

Amazing concert!
Damn they are incredibly tight and clean live! Not always an easy feat with all those blistering tremolos, it can be very easy to be sloppy. Savage Aggressor is a pretty insane guitarist, what a great addition to the band. Also, fantastic live sound. Rock Hard always does a great job with the production on these shows.
Saw them live in 2007 or 2008 I think. 10/10 commitment live :D

Okay, the lead guitarist is playing a Brent Hinds silverburst Flying V Custom (you can see Brent's "skull logo" on the back of the headstock), but it says "Gibson" on the headstock. Only Epiphone made those. Gibson never did. So, did he alter the logo? Something fishy going on here.

I love how poorly rehearsed and crude this is. The fact this line up includes Blackie of the Root fame makes this an even more almighty experience. This is late 80s Scandinavian extreme metal of the finest calibre.

O to żywy dowód, żeby wiedzieć kiedy ze sceny zejść. To jakaś pieprzona komedia. Są bardziej śmieszni niż groźni.
Ja pierdole, teraz już wiem czemu należy ściąć włosy, gdy już nie można ich mieć. Muzycznie też dramat, wokalista " śpiewa" tak jak wygląda. Ale muzyczne gówno.
