Someday if you find a interested farming. You can rent or lease a place outside tge city. I recommend raising Ducks, goat, and chicken. Its low maintenance and you can make money. I saw a video of a Japanese guy in Negros renting a land for native chicken poultry.

My wife took me to public hospital in CDO 40 pesos for lab twice and 70 for doctor once and had follow up no charge, amba kicked me lost a lot of weight tying to beat it on my own but that little bug kicked me so hard and the gov hospital cured it for me quick, even though i don't like hopital or their drug pushing system, I use to drink san miguel but I had to quit cause they didn't make it fast enough for my drinking, I love philippines even though I live in Oregon Philippines has my heart

My pension is 1800$US it’s just us 2 for now we did live pretty good in 2020 I know it’s a little more expensive there but it is that bad now ? The advantage of owning a house versus renting a lifetime. In other countries rent now went up to the roof. It will happen in the Philippines in the next 5 to 10 years. 1) 30 years ago rent in Canada was $350. Now it is $2,200. 2) The house before was $110,000 but now it is $1.6 million 3) You do not need to buy the house. Just buy land and slowly build a decent house worth less than P350k 4) Watch a vlog of a lady in Cebu who built it for P200k 5) The land can be 15k during the pandemic (Just Back Pack did it) but now maybe P150k 6) Renting will give you nothing in 16.6 years. But buying a lot can leave you a lot of money. 7) Be smart. Start a future by buying a small lot. Land or lot will not devalue. It will only get higher. 8) Land or farm is unlike a car or equipment that will go from high value to no value.
We do not want to be tethered by house and land, we have other plans for life. If we have a financial surplus perhaps we will buy some nice land for the future. Thanks for comment and Your point of View.

You are spot on as far as home ownership,, here in the USA once you sign on the bank note,, they own you for the rest of your life,, to pay back 3 times over and work to keep taxes payed up,, its slavery to the bank,, pay as you go,, is the way to beat the bankers,, well I am a carpenter by trade,, so my view is a little different from most,,
If I can't afford something then it shouldn't be bought, unfortunately the system is set up so that we can't afford serious expenses like building a house. Perfect slavery everyone signs the promises themselves.
