Man; This Is TERMINAL Where These G' DOGS Come In and Leave Out Around The Clock In The WORLD'S LARGEST BUS TERMINAL @ 8th. Ave and 42nd. Street's. The BIG APPLE TERMINAL In New York City.
Why so many buses have no destination sign working? Thats why I hate those things. Back in the day we would always look at the front of the bus to see where they were going and got a big kick out of that. Today they either are missing, not working are impossible to read on the highway. The old mechanical rollerboard signs would last forever and were easy to read, this new stuff as usual seems to be junk.
chi chi stevens, the Prevost X3-45's allow for the tag axle to be lifted off the ground in order to let the coach totally pivot on the drive axle (which reduces the overall turning radius of the bus). Otherwise the traction from the tag wheels would try to keep the coach going straight -even though double the traction on the drive wheels force the tag wheels to kinda slide or scuff sideways, it all nonetheless increases the overall turning radius. So that's why othe brand of coaches allow an air pressure dump from the tag axle so it just rolls along without putting up any fight to keep the bus going straight ahead. Also as you may know some models and or brands of coaches keep full air suspension pressure on the tag axle but allow the tag wheels to actually turn in the opposite direction of that of front wheels...then of course some bus operators just keep the tag wheels on the ground without an air pressure dump nor a turning or steerable tag axle but then they suffer great tire wear as well as frame stress around the drive and tag axle areas. I know I probably overkilled it but hope it help you understand better.
Brought back good memories, I miss the Port.
Kind of reminds me of the old Greyhound Bus station in Milwaukee before they moved to the new Intermodal station.
luv the new prevost
Traveled outta here a few times
