Great to see more Ambleside content on YT! I also have a son in Y4, we use Ambleside books and resources with the Robinson curriculum method of instruction and scheduling. The AO schedule and CM method of short lessons and books broken up over the course of the year were too chaotic and confusing for us. But the content is incredible. Your kids are getting an amazing education!

Wow, this looks so awesome, that’s a lot of literature your kiddo goes through. Not a homeschool parent, would love to try it but it feels overwhelming. Great job to you and all the moms that are doing this.

I just want to encourage you: If homeschooling is something you’re interested in, know that it’s so rewarding. It can feel like a lot, especially when first getting started. But you can start small and incorporate what works for your family. There are so many different styles and flavors to homeschooling, so lots of options ❤️

At this stage do you read all these out loud for him? Or are these independent? I’m aware with AO the goal is to eventually get them to do all their readings. I so want to dive into AO next year but no idea how to tackle all this reading with my other kids too! Will you be doing a “how to” - day to day schedule video. Enjoying your videos, thanks

It’s a mixed bag for us at this stage. He does about half on his own and half with me. There’s definitely a learning curve to figuring out how to juggle it! I did a scheduling video for how I figure out each week. You can see it at the link I’ll add here. And I’m planning some future “homeschool with us” videos to show kind of how the flow of our day works.

I would really like to do the things you are doing, but I am so confused about how to put it together. Help!

Hi! It can definitely take some problem solving. How many kids are you teaching?

Curious if you have your 5th grader do any other writing?

Writing as in handwriting? If so, he does copywork and a cursive handwriting book. He also did a good bit of written narration this year (around 3-4 a week). But if you mean creative writing or composition, no he didn’t do much of that. He did some poetry and worked on a couple short stories on his own that he wanted to write.

Yes, Heritage Mom! And she is a Charlotte Mason enthusiast as well. ❤ She’s on the Simply Charlotte Mason channel from time to time too. 😊
