Meanwhile doom was released in 1993 and was the first ever FPS with metal music. But ye, you know better 😂 Of course painkiller is pure gold but let's not spread lies.
@@georgepolyxronides4433 Way to completely misinterpret the point of my comment. Sharp one you are lol Yeah no shit OG Doom came first, but both Doom 2016 and Eternal's gameplay has clear influence from Painkiller with their structure mostly consisting of open arenas with hordes of enemies broken up by quiet linear paths as downtme and Ultrakill takes cues from its hybrid weapons with their creative alt-fires.
Sci-Twi Same. I would like a collaboration between Mount And Blade and Warcraft. Now that's what World Of Warcraft should have been from the very beginning, not just some MMO where you play as a random hero looting everything but as a commander of a huge army with a goal of conquering Azeroth for your chosen faction or yourself. It would be a complete open-ended sandbox because lets face it, the story is already set in stone in Warcraft 3, all we need now is a huge war between each faction and allow each player to decide the victor. That's what World Of Warcraft lacks, theres no "Warcraft", I want to experience wars not just from the top down view but from the perspective of a commander. Mount And Blade lets me do that, I want that style of gameplay to be incorporated into Warcraft as well... *sigh* I guess I can only dream I suppose.
Yup, same here. Before painkiller, metal was full of moaing, barking, spitting vocals, childish rages and some ear raping fast paced riffs to me. Painkiller ost increases my testesterone level, its godly and twisted, it understands me, it changes the way I breath. Nowadays its really hard to find generic industrial metalcore soundtracks. Most of them usually have either powermetal elements or lack of rhythm.
Same for me, really. The demo disk/soundtrack was being given away in Electronics Boutique/GAME (whichever it was at the time) for free, and although I was around 10 years old at the time they let me take a copy and it just kinda went from there.
I remember when my mom brought the disc with this game. Someone gave it her, knowing that her kids have a computer. I started playing this game and I changed my mind about the heavy music! I really like those riffs even today, so much memories! For today music I like always have at least one guitar. Fun thing also: I loved the Asylum level. I always used the Stakegun, and it was like I am a doctor that came into mental hospital to give Injections with some medicine to everyone. And all of the enemies is just an amputee people who paint satanic symbols on the floor, and guys with Electric chairs. Painkiller was the first game I completed on 100%!
But Painkiller wasn't like any other these shooters. It has more from DMC(creator of PK don't like mechanic of other shooters that's why it has not so many weapons)
Ah, this soundtrack is such a masterpiece and bring back so many good memories!Defenetly one of the best soundtracks in video games of all time!Original painkiller was probably the last real good oldshool type fps!
Ни одна игра не сравнится с Painkiller , с её атмосферой, музыкой и геймплеем ( пускай и с багами ). От неё не бомбит, она как антидепрессант, не зря её так назвали.
my dad is a good person to teach me about this amazing game. i still play it and it brings back amazing memories of me sitting next to my dad, watching him play while i pretend to shoot the monsters with my little gun i had. that was 8 years ago lol. love this game
Not only one of the most awesome sound tracks ever put in an FPS, but also still the best weapons systems I've ever dealt with on any FPS! The weapons in this game were fantastic, every single one of them.

Uwielbiam wracać co jakiś czas do tej muzyki jeden z najlepszych soundtracków w grach komputerowych. Adam "Scorpik" Skorupa jest obok Jespera Kyda moim ulubionym kompozytorem muzyki do gier^^
I bought Painkiller cheap from a gaming store when it first came out because it was unpopular at the time. My how times have changed, lol. I've always loved the music to this. My favourite is the Opera House track when just walking through. Scares the crap out of me that haunting music, as does the army base with the German voice playing over the speakers. Even to this day I go back and play Painkiller. Love it. Thanks for doing this soundtrack. All this time and I have only just come across it😄👍🏻
Nope. It mix of classic shooters(doom and Sam as well) and Devil May Cry(yup, main influence was DMC because any other shooters have weapons problem when you don't need any weapons except 2 -3 powerful ones and creator of Painkiller don't like that at all)😂
Catacombs is fucking killer. Overtly haunting and insanely intense, just like the level. Talk about fucking nerve-racking, enemies that can kill you in two or three hits coming down both ends of a tunnel.
It's on steam, mate. encourage ya to play it. Still holds up to this day. Just playing through it the second time on Trauma I played it as a lil kid on Daydream and never finished it lol. This game was my damn childhood.

Daniel and Doom Slayer are cut of the same stuff, just differently motivated. I believe they'd make a very fine duo and they both hate demons with a fiery passion that supersede's hell's own infernos. I think Daniel deserves to cross into the DOOM universe which technically could happen given how DOOM operates under the idea of the multiverse theory. Surely one of those would be Painkiller's version of hell. Ah who am I kidding. I am just a fucking huge fan of both games.. and their amazing soundtracks.
I have played through this game so many times. The fact that they included the soundtrack on the disc just for listening to was pretty cool. I have this music on my MP3 player for when I am mowing the lawn. Odd....sure. But groovy.

Painkiller was a horde-killing, white-knuckle, shotgun-waltz. It knew it was a bloodbath for the sake of carefree-slaughter and had no apologies for the anti-grinders or storyline junkies. Its sheer velocity of cultist-slaying was matched beautifully to its 90s grind-metal ballads of smiling hate and blood-candy for all… to hell with “good taste” when you’re sucking on a cultists adreno gland with your double-barreled12ought blowing through ammo like a mini-gun. Long deaths cut-short, I’m giving this bad ‘ol classic 10/10. As a bonus dirty nickel to the eye: play this video when youve hopped in the shower on a cold morning when you know youre only a single “goid morning!” Away from crushing someones skull. A little mental fire-branding might save you the bore of lawsuits and jail time. Does for me.
Funny to remember what i was thinking of Doom (2016) : just a succession of fighting in closed arenas, now i remember this is the same thing in Painkiller. The difference ? Painkiller maps and gameplay have a soul.
