Android 14 Update for the Motorola Razr+!

- It's taken Motorola almost a year, but we finally have the Android 14 update for our Moto Razr+ devices with the new Hello UI skin. Overall, I like the update, including the always-on display. I just wish Motorola would pump them out a little faster!

motorola ditched the ultrawide camera in favor of a telephoto in the new razr+ based on "user data" now, i hope they use this data to see that people want faster software updates and longer support.

What we want is for them to give us both an ultrawide and a telephoto. Both Oppo and Huawei have already done it.
You know that's not going to happen lol. They're skipping software updates because they don't want to pay developers to adjust Android OS every year.
Somebody at #Lenovo has to be forcing the drag our feet policy. It just doesn't add up.
@VeedoCapone only tech savvy people care so much about updates. for common users, as long as their phones work, they'll say, what update?

I dont like from this update that the keyboard in the external display got smaller, so my typing experience decreased
Android 15 is due to release soon and they come out now with 14. With a similarly priced phone 14 would have been releaed a long time ago
i got android 14 on the thinkphone back in like.. late febuary/march i think, i wounder if lenovo puts pressure on motorola to actually update the phone with their name on it.
I hate this update! It completely destroyed the style of the external screen. No more Pantone costumized application, no shortcuts to the different panels on the home, it all looks zoomed and dull. I'm really regretting updating my phone this morning. Is there a way to get back to the previous style?

Im in Australia still waiting for Android 14,when it comes to updates from Motorola/lenova,from what Motorola agents have told me is, they do not update the whole region at once they update individual devices,so others will get the update others won't..On the Motorola community forums others have lastedt security patch,while others are still on may2023, android 14 is rolling out i might not get it for months,no agent can even give me a time frame...I have a flip5 which receives updates all the time,but i prefer the Motorola razr as my daily phone as the external screen works much better than the flip5..i thought i would just let people know how it its when Motorola is with updates ..not regions but per device, now the waiting game.

Just wondering, was that phone Carrier locked? or was it an unlocked version..... a few days ago? I got the update for the razor 2023 and the T-Mobile version locked razor+ 2023 still has not seen the update.

Can you confirm if it has the "approach to show" feature as a part of the update and does it also have the cool playback customisation options?
Approach gesture is exclusive to 2024 from what I've seen. Fun playback animations during music playing are there.

So I'm thinking about holding off and updating my pixel 8 Pro for the pixel 9 Pro. What you think?
There's no reason to update the 8 pro. The 9 pro is just gonna be the same.
Probably would hold off on a Razr Plus 2024...unless you really use your outer display, because the larger panel is going to be nice.

When I first was looking at the Razr vs the Flip…I’m a tech nut so I already know Moto is trash for releasing updates.. So tho I did like the design of the flip Razr the lack of updates and I’m such lack of customization that I like to do on my phones who be possible so I sick to what i know with Samsung.
I swear today I was trying to update my son’s old Motorola phone and I felt so lost lol Nothing is where I’m used to when I’m on my phone…It’s a shame it has to take this long for Moto to be able to give you always on display

I got my update with RSA. The ota update didn't work on my razr for whatever reason.

I got the Android 14 update a few days ago, unlocked Razr 2023 on T-Mobile network but I am no longer getting the pop up notifcation banners on outer screen, AOD or sleep mode screen opens but the notification message banners when recieved are no longer poping up to be read, they appear only if the phone is out of sleep mode on the outer lock screen (moo Time), in android 13 while in sleep mode when I would get texts, alerts or emails phone would wake up and show pop up banner notification messages, alerts to read and that no longer happens, I have tried all settings. I only get sound notification and light up, phone wakes up but no longer pop up notifications or messages to read before going back to sleep AOD mode. Is this normal now and the same with the Razr+ 2024 android 14 function?

@@StevealiciousTech something, most likely flower because i work at a pizza place, got wedged under the display and broke the touch. half of it was still responsive, but it only got worse whenever i folded the phone, including the entire screen now being black

Yeah, some carriers are slower than others with that.

Too late. I bought a razr 40 ultra on sale 2 weeks ago, but still running on Android 13 and security patch of mai, so i returned it. Motorola software updates policy is a joke. Few major updates promised and never delivered on time.

Rolling out Android 14 on last year's model to coincide with the release date of a newer model is lazy and insulting. I perhaps understand the "logic" behind it, but it could set an even worse precedent for a company that already refuses to provide timely updates to premium devices.
My razr still stuck on 13
But I am sure u r aware that there's other devices offering the aod and much faster software updates. I think it's called Samsung Z Flip if I am not mistaken. Lol
Personally I don't care about the latest updated I like durability. Not all phones need updated. Why mess with a good thing. Don't fix something that's not broken. Would people want them to release buggy ass updates

this update sucks I can't change wallpaper and the keyboard on the external screen is to small you can't even change it's size
You can change everything go watch some RUclips video if you dont know how to change wallpapers backgrounds
I only buy Samsung Galaxy Phone because of really good software longevity.
