I guess those sharp turns and willingness to shake the ensemble up made this show run for such a long time. Every other comedy tries to stay in equilibrium for as long as possible and then ends with one or two story episodes.
also realized dobby would be kind of perfect for jez, she''s smart and semi-responsible enough to take care of him like mark does, but she's also fun and childish like him. Dobby wouldnt get much out of the relationship, but he is more fun than mark and may actually be good to her (for at least a period of time). honestly this is the episode where, had they all hooked up, they could've lived happier lives. if only briefly

I always hated the way they took Dobby's character. She started out a nerdy, shut-in gamer and turned into a pretenious proto-hipster. Seriously the Dobby who once asked Mark why he'd want to go to museum over watching a dvd boxset wants to "do a runner" and go inter-railing.
Well, one of her best friends died and she wasn't there to help, because they were sat around at home watching TV I'd say it's good character building. Also she probably had regrets about being with Mark and decided to change her life drastically so S9 also makes sense to me
Hmm a friend of mine once asked me to do a runner during a meal and I acted much the same. I would feel terrible doing that to a respectable establishment and it's staff.

Super Hans being Mark's boss is probably my personal favorite thing about the show.
