- I’ve been asked a bunch how I drive stick shift with one leg. So here’s a video explaining how I do it. Enjoy!

Please be sure to like, comment, and subscribe. I’m trying to get out a video or two per week. My daily schedule keeps me super busy, but I want to be as committed as possible to getting out some good content for you all.
Excellent tutorial! I bet your doctors said you would never drive a manual car again after your right leg amputation!!!
Yeah, something like that 😂
Dude this is awesome thanks for sharing! Left foot braking so comfortably like that is seriously impressive, you’re using a skill a lot of track drivers use that I could never ever master so I give you huge huge props. Creative and most importantly effective! Cheers!
Thank you. I had a version of this video where I talked about left foot braking while being on the track and how driving with one leg allowed me to brake boost and come out of turns faster. When my first instructor asked me about left foot braking I told him “not a problem, that’s all I do.”
I cut that section out though since I figured most people would only want to hear the basics. One day I’ll do a track video and talk about driving on the track with one leg.
@@Lord_Pegleg I would totally love to see that, I was gonna ask if you track your car at all. I’ll be looking forward to it!
@@TakeFlightGarageI tracked my old STi with 700hp. It was wild. I’ve yet to get to the track with either the 944 or my new STi, but I’m hoping get in a track day before winter. I have some old footage I can put up and add commentary
Wow! Fantastic!
Thank you!
Very cool!
Thanks!
Cool stuff!
Thanks Fam!
How do you deal with not having sensation in your right foot when wanting to apply fine pressure to the gas pedal? And also, if you were coming to an emergency stop, would you still brake with the left foot?
Great video by the way!
I can still feel the pedal through my socket. It’s a strange sensation. When my leg is up against an object, I can feel that. Most of my accelerations are usually fine movements unless I’m really laying into the throttle. I’ve also worked with tuners who are able to rework the throttle response so if I wanted I couldn’t get more response with less effort.
If I had to make an emergency stop the first thing I would do is step on the brakes. If I’m in a situation where I’m still in gear and I stall out because of it, I’d rather stall out versus getting into an accident. It’s happened to me a couple of times where I’ve had to make very fast stops. Believe it or not, in most of those situations I’ve been able to get on the clutch quickly, throw it into neutral, and then slam on my brakes.
@@niknik793thanks!
Check out my footwork at 3:48. I wasn’t prepared for that truck to be stopped and turning right as I came around a blind corner. It’s not SUPER fast, but it’s quick enough. There have been times where I’ve done maneuver wash faster than what you see in that moment.
What model of car is this ??
This is a 1988 Porsche 944 Turbo. Tons of fun to drive. There’s some additional videos on my channel talking about it. Feel free to check them out.
