- Pittsburgh moved into field goal position after a pair of 15-yard penalties on the Bengals, one on linebacker Vontaze Burfict and another on Adam Jones after Burfict hit a defenseless Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown. Boswell drilled his fourth field goal of the game to give the Steelers their first playoff win since the 2010 AFC championship game.

+MICOLE WHYTE I agree with you but most people will forget Hill's fumble due to the brainless penalties from Burfict and Jones. All Hill has to do is run 3 times and hold the ball and then the Bengals kick a field goal and go up 4 points with about a minute left and pitt is out of time outs. Instead he fumbles on first down, so Pitt has all 3 time outs and is down only by a point.

Sure you don’t care but great story and I’m a diehard Steelers fan so figured I’d share. I always look back to this game as a prime childhood memory watching with my grandpa. We got so into games and always joked about how much of a bengals meltdown it was! Watching live with your teams season on the line was wild, the Martavis Bryant catch/flip into the end zone towards the end was wild. Followed by Burfict handing us the game. Gramps and I were so jacked up we couldn’t fall asleep so we sat side by side in recliners and talked about it till 4am and couldn’t anymore😂

As a Bengals fan, I am disgusted...on both sides. Teams and fans. Both Steelers and Bengals really need to stop their dirty plays and fights. When a Bengal is injured, Steelers celebrate. When a Steeler is hurt, Bengals celebrate. Just comes to show how much hatred these teams have for each other. But what I really don't like is how the sportsmanship was handled. The coach, the touchdown victory dance, fans throwing bottles on the field and at the injured Big Ben, and how the ending was handled on the Bengals side.
For you haters saying all the Bengals/Steelers fans and members are shit, shut up. There's still a good amount with sense. Not ALL deserve such hate, just the selected few who had to do with the problems. For a rough playoff history for Bengals, the team and fans had every reason to be upset...but no need to make it such a low level of disrespect. I hope Ben and Brown get better for the Bronco match, and I hope Mccarron, Green and Hill (also Dalton) can suck up this loss and come back better and stronger next year.
So again, as a fan of the Who Dey team, I'm sorry this game was handled so poorly by the Bengals and their fans. It would of been an exciting win, but it be one hell of a shameful one.

Grudge match, late turnovers, vicious hits, sloppy conditions, Bungles managed to give it away ultimately by personal fouling the Steelers into field goal range. Poor Sportsmanship is a terrible way to end a playoff game. My question is what the hell did they give Big Ben in the locker room? Dude gets carted off the field, but then comes back in for the final drive?

I remember watching this game with my dad in 2016, I was in 6th grade and still one of my best memories watching the Steelers to this day.
For those Bengals fans that said they should've won this game, I'd like to remind you that that was a touchdown by Shazier that got blown off.
not only that I can't remember if it was that play but it might of been after the TD there was a unsportsmanlike penalty thrown because of dancing in the endzone... they ended up giving the steelers the ball, but not the TD (which made no sense), but to make things even funnier they still penalized them for the unsportsmanlike penalty.. This in a nut shell is ridiculous because that penalty should of only stuck after the TD was called, which wouldn't wipe the TD out but be used on the kickoff... *RIDICULOUS*

This game, right here, explains why the Bengals struggle so much in the playoffs. Success in the playoffs takes a certain mindset, a maturity and level headed nature to be pumped up but still execute your game in a disciplined manner when the pressure is on late in the game- Seahawks defense is a good example. This mindset completely eludes certain individuals on the Bengals roster.
6 more years later in 2021, the bengals has finally won a playoff game for the first time since 1990 with a 26-19 win vs the Las Vegas raiders

Lots of people hate the steelers and say they suck and all. But facts are facts and the steelers have tied for the most super bowl wins and playoff wins in NFL history with 6 and 34, respectively. In my opinion the Pittsburgh Steelers are the greatest franchise in the NFL, maybe not the best team right now but the best franchise in all these years of the NFL's existence. Especially their teams in the 70's and 80's with all those hall of famers.

Bengals fans will be quick to blame players like burfict, pac man, and Hill for their loss today, and rightfully so. However most of the penalties could have been avoided if the coaches had control over their players. The game tonight should be the last game Marvin Lewis coaches for the Bengals. He should've had better control over his players in the heated situations or he should have pulled them off the field completely. It also shows that without Dalton their is no leader for their team. Lewis hasn't done anything in he playoffs as the bengals head coach, and this should be the end of his job with them
I honestly don't know why the Bengals have kept Marvin Lewis for like what, 13 years? He's gotten them nowhere. Yes, they've made the playoffs 7 or 8 times, but they've gone 1 and done every time. Marvin just can't keep control of his team. Just look at Vontaze Burfict. (I think that's how you spell it) The dude makes a dirty play like every game but Marvin doesn't do anything about it, and it cost him a playoff win and a chance to beat New England. Whenever something like this happens, ownership needs to look directly at the coach. The difference between the Bengals and the Steelers is that the Steelers don't tolerate misbehaving players. Look at Mike Wallace, Santonio Holmes, Chris Rainey, LeGarrett Blount, etc. Wallace and Holmes had their chance to be great wide receivers, but the Steelers cut them for misbehavior. Both of them folded when they joined new teams. Rainey was not that good anyway, and neither was Blount. Blount was just trying to teach Le'Veon Bell his idiotic ways.

this was by far one of the most exciting play off games.
As a Broncos fan, this is one of the best, most entertaining games I've ever watched. The hate on both sides of the ball, the conflict, the hits (some of which were poor sportsmanship), Bryant's catch, the closeness of the game, etc.
