One of the best memories of playing a Hunter in World of Warcraft revolves around taming that first rare pet. There was something special about heading out into the wilds, searching for a rare creature :)
Honestly my favorite memory of WoW is back in Legion when I was in a guild with my Mom, Dad, and Brother. We had made friends and were raiding Nighthold at the time and I remember just having so much fun being able to play with my family. Its been many years since then but my Dad still plays with me and the guild we are in now. I'll always be thankful (as we approach Thanksgiving) that my parents got me into this game.

@@MrEggplant Haa, I wanted to make a suggestion for some content for the live streams that could become a video if you let me :) Many of the tips and builds I see are related to specific setups and perfect item combinations. Today I have a lot of difficulty analyzing my character and knowing what I can replace and adapt to get the best result considering stats and max damage. It would be cool to have a section where you could help us with this, maybe by looking at some members' builds in the WoW armory and explaining the correlations. It would be a really cool thing to see and learn to rationalize about the class!!!
My faveorite memory is when I got my first rare pet. I had to learn how to travel to the other regions (I started WOW just recently) and I remember it was just a really cool experience seeing all the older expansion landscapes. Still love my spirit bear to this day :)
My favorite WoW memory is that my parents got my whole family onto playing in BC so we would would play all together in dungeons from then on. Just nice spending time with the family playing WoW. :D
Thanks for the great guide, man! My favorite WoW memory is from the first year of me playing the game back in TBC. I remember leveling my dwarf paladin with several of my classmates and even though it took me more than a year to level to 70, I loved every minute of it. I have such nostalgia for when I played Deadmines for the first time, being a complete noob, and the awe/fear I felt running around Westfall and Duskwood, bubblehearthing when things got sticky. That first year cemented the kind of gamer I am today since I believe the journey (leveling) is just as important as the destination (lvl cap). One by one my friends quit the game for good, but I have always returned after a couple of months, thinking I could leave Azeroth behind, but realizing the game and its memories still reminds me of a simpler time and life. For the Alliance! For the Horde! For Azeroth!

@@MrEggplant hello sir do you change build strings for each mythic dungeon? Or which build string would you choose for all mythic dungeons if you only had to pick one ? I'm high item level but noob so sometimes I forget if I have to change between every dungeon
I remember dropping the Blue Sinew for the hunter quest back in Vanila. Killing Azuregos was insanely hard back then on a PVP server and my guild had zero chances of doing it, so I farm in Wintersprings, it dropped on my birthday, good times.

my top 3 wow moments as a hunter is 1. R14 on 2020 on the EU-PvP server at the time 2. Doin the epic Rhok'delar quest chain for the first time 3. Gettin Loque’nahak Nice vid as always. Helps me workin on my hunter

Watched a few of your vids, quality stuff, finally subbed. Fave wow moment was topping dps meters on Sindragosa 25 man ICC hard mode as a survival hunter. Definitely drop an update video once the dark ranger fixes and updates come through. 5:21
My favorite memory is the first raid back in 2005 when I joined a guild and we did 40 man Molten Core. Looking at how the game is now, it's so much more polished but in general it's what started back then :)
My favourite WoW memory is in TBC back in the day. We kited all of the elites in HFP to Honor Hold and ended up crashing Outland on Ravenholdt EU. Best of times.
My favorite WoW memory? Back in vanilla, we had a heated discussion over voicechat what the icon for the rogue distract ability actually was. It was so blurry and unclear. Back then you could petition an actual GM who responded to you in chat, and they said "we have discussed this at the office and we are under the impression that it's a small turtle". Obviously this was hilarious. Just goes to show how different the game is now compared to back then, and perhaps even more so, how the social aspect of the game is less and less prevalent.
That's such a great memory! I remember back in BC that I would get to talk to GMs every now and again.. it was the best thing. I miss that. There's a bunch of hunter abilities that I have no clue what the actual icon even is :') I hope you're enjoying TWW so far. Is there any other types of videos you'd like to see? I'm doing my best to make more videos you all would like to watch!

That's amazing! ZA was one of the first raids I ever did... even though I didn't know what a raid was.. still can't believe someone let me join. That's a great wow memory. Did you like the reimagining those two raids got in Cataclysm?
One of my favorites wow memory is at the end of shadowlands they brought back teir sets. Playing an enchancement shaman they were top teir if you could get the right procs. We'll I got the right procs, spike in damage way over everyone esle only for the boss to turn and kill me because I pulled aggro 2 minutes into the fight lol
i was in a financial meeting at work and when i got the notification for this video going up, i told them we had to stop the meeting and pick up again next week as i had another "meeting" i need to get online for lol. thank you so much for this!! favorite WoW memory is of course Leroy Jenkins but more than that is when BC came out and people that worked for 6+ month to get gear and set pieces, that gear was replaced with greens in hellfire peninsula within 20 mins, lol

Favorite moment. i attack a high lvl tauren war who was fighting a rare that he almost killed and he died instead. later on in that gaming sesh he found and chased me all over the map, he almost caught me so i jumped off a cliff and landed in a pool of water, he jumped right after me and hit a rock instead of water and died. i laughed hysterically and swam away.
Great video and I like the update. I think I spent 3 hours on the hunter discord yesterday and yeah, dark ranger is very buggy. I ended up switching to bm pack leader and its damage has been ridiculous but I think there's a bug there too but it helped me kill ?? Zekvir!!
Sentinel is still the go to for most things. I've been playing Dark ranger in raid and I'll try it again in M+, but Sentinel is still the go to.. for now :)
My DPS meter does show both damage done and DPS on the same line. But I'll look into better ways to show that information, thank you for the call out! I try to tailor my videos to better who that sort of information.
That's huge! My actual biggest on a mob taking boosted damage (like the first boss in mists) is 42 Million. It was on Silken Court on the tall Nerubian. I love that trinket.
So did they mess something up? Cause I was doing way more damage as 607 ilvl then I do now with 620 ilvl. The burst I was seeing with Trueshot active, is seemingly gone.
I think you're really feeling the loss of the 3 extra seconds. It doesn't sound like much, but that's a 18% loss of TS buff, which in turn is on the back end of the CD, meaning we also lost 3 seconds of +10% crit chance and +20% crit strike damage. That's enough for 2 aimed shots in ST or an Aimed Shot and a pumped up Multi-Shot in AOE, that would be buffed because of our tier set bonus and Bulletstorm. That in itself is a huge loss, more than I thought it would be initially. But with the extra focus we spend now, I'm getting MORE Trueshots out. Overall it's a net gain, especially with bigger pulls.
@MrEggplant you are probally right. But it really I really feel it outside the cooldown aswell. If I look at the logs for Marksman dungeons, nearly everything in the top dps is before 23 oct. Been trying DarkRanger in dungeons. But it's just not worth it.
Do you change the build strings for each dungeon or? I mostly play high key mythics 10 and above , item level 629 but im lacking total average damage , i only manage 1.3-1.5 at most
It really depends on how big you're pulling to really push the damage. I usually sit around that amount as well, but when we started pulling bigger, I got into the 2M range. Most keys I use the same build, the only exception would be NW for example that if you pull big enough, you can ru nwith Light Ammo.
@@MrEggplantdang your videos are so good. I managed to get a total 1.83m dps yesterday, my personal best. I learned to be patient and just actively planting ahead from watching your videos. I dont waste big cooldowns anymore , and the difference is huge. I used to fiddle and cancel aimed shots because I had to move all the time, now i am much better at timing abilities and often top dps on bosses. I was so weak vs single target before watching your videos
Hey thank you! The mog is a combination of a lot of pieces, but the one that catches your eye, the shoulders, are apart of the CM set from MoP and is no longer in game. Luckily, most should be fixed as of today. The big one was with Withering Fire. Sometimes it wouldn't shoot Deathblow procs and would pull mobs you weren't in combat with. That should be fixed today!

I haven't played hunter this expan. but wouldn't Volley+Salvo override the Explosive Shot you initiated before? Shouldn't there be time in-between to let the Explosive shot explode first?
Hey Steve! No, they both go off. The buff on the enemy will refresh, but you will indeed get two explosions. You can try it on a dummy in Dornagal if you don't believe me :) Welcome back to the hunting party my friend!
There isn't, just because it was completely broken. Some pulls were wildly over doing damage and some were wildly under performing due to the pugs. Because of that, I opted to not show it. As soon as the bugs are fixed, I will make a stand alone DR video that'll be abridged and shorter, with updated information.
so far i'm pretty disappointed.. it seems like i went from top 1/2 in details m3(that's where i'm at) to just above the tank, i.e. slot 3, regardless of builds. it seems the new animation for rapid fire is throwing something off too.
I dont understand these "buffs". Monday night i Sim'd my self and was doing 1.3m dps. Now after the rework im only doing 960k. I thought these changes were for the better?
I highly doubt it. My guess is they'll fix it within a week or so. Maybe that's just the copium talking. There's a ton of classes with bugs.. ele shaman for example is bursting 25M+ dps on pulls in M+ this week lol.
It's currently too bugged to get a good read on everything. Some pulls your Withering Fire just doesn't work, or will pull packs that you're not in combat with. Sometimes Black Arrow does double damage for no reason. Sometimes it only works if you use the ability instead of what Withering Fire is supposed to do. They should get it fixed soon and then I'll have a separate video just for DR M+.

New wow player here and first time hunter. I was wondering why there isn't a rotation for dark ranger AOE? Is it just a lot better to play sentinel ? Awesome video btw, keep up the great work!
I didn't add one because it's so bugged and very noticeable in M+/AOE. Sometimes your Black Arrow just doesn't work, sometimes it pulls things in packs you're not attacking, Withering Fire isn't working as intended currently. I'll have a stand alone video for it as soon as they fix the bugs! I'm just as frustrated as anyone because DR is exactly what I want from my MM.
It's not that it doesn't do damage, it's because our main abilities are currently bugged and just flat out not working. Which is SUPER FRUSTRATING. We'll see how quickly they fix them and I'll have a stand alone video for just DR M+.
@TaitanGG one of the main additions to the rework, withering fire, half the time doesn't shoot the extra Black Arrows like it's supposed to, when it does work it sometimes does double damage for no reason, it'll also pull and attack things you're not in combat with (happened in my recordings), Black Arrow will hit enemies that already have a dot on them instead of being a smart cast... and then other times it'll work just fine. It's very inconsistent currently.
@@MrEggplant Thanks for clarifying, man. Inconsistency is exactly the right word, and it's driving me crazy! Also, rapid fire feels weaker now for some reason

I remember dropping the Blue Sinew for the hunter quest back in Vanila. Killing Azuregos was insanely hard back then on a PVP server and my guild had zero chances of doing it, so I farm in Wintersprings, it dropped on my birthday, good times.

My favorite memory is the first raid back in 2005 when I joined a guild and we did 40 man Molten Core. Looking at how the game is now, it's so much more polished but in general it's what started back then :)
My favourite WoW memory is in TBC back in the day. We kited all of the elites in HFP to Honor Hold and ended up crashing Outland on Ravenholdt EU. Best of times.
My favorite WoW memory? Back in vanilla, we had a heated discussion over voicechat what the icon for the rogue distract ability actually was. It was so blurry and unclear. Back then you could petition an actual GM who responded to you in chat, and they said "we have discussed this at the office and we are under the impression that it's a small turtle". Obviously this was hilarious. Just goes to show how different the game is now compared to back then, and perhaps even more so, how the social aspect of the game is less and less prevalent.
That's such a great memory! I remember back in BC that I would get to talk to GMs every now and again.. it was the best thing. I miss that. There's a bunch of hunter abilities that I have no clue what the actual icon even is :') I hope you're enjoying TWW so far. Is there any other types of videos you'd like to see? One of my favorites wow memory is at the end of shadowlands they brought back teir sets. Playing an enchancement shaman they were top teir if you could get the right procs. We'll I got the right procs, spike in damage way over everyone esle only for the boss to turn and kill me because I pulled aggro 2 minutes into the fight lol
fave memory in wow. the time when there wasnt this many hotfixes and the game ran nearly right instead of a broken mess

i was in a financial meeting at work and when i got the notification for this video going up, i told them we had to stop the meeting and pick up again next week as i had another "meeting" i need to get online for lol. thank you so much for this!! favorite WoW memory is of course Leroy Jenkins but more than that is when BC came out and people that worked for 6+ month to get gear and set pieces, that gear was replaced with greens in hellfire peninsula within 20 mins, lol

Favorite moment. i attack a high lvl tauren war who was fighting a rare that he almost killed and he died instead. later on in that gaming sesh he found and chased me all over the map, he almost caught me so i jumped off a cliff and landed in a pool of water, he jumped right after me and hit a rock instead of water and died. i laughed hysterically and swam away.

Great video and I like the update. I think I spent 3 hours on the hunter discord yesterday and yeah, dark ranger is very buggy. I ended up switching to bm pack leader and its damage has been ridiculous but I think there's a bug there too but it helped me kill ?? Zekvir!!
Someone said there’s a bug with kill command and it not scaling correctly with animal companion.

Sentinel is still the go to for most things. I've been playing Dark ranger in raid and I'll try it again in M+, but Sentinel is still the go to.. for now :)
To see results even better I would suggest to use DPS instead of damage done on your recount addon.
My DPS meter does show both damage done and DPS on the same line. But I'll look into better ways to show that information, thank you for the call out! I try to tailor my videos to better who that sort of information.

That's huge! My actual biggest on a mob taking boosted damage (like the first boss in mists) is 42 Million. It was on Silken Court on the tall Nerubian. I love that trinket.

Cause I was doing way more damage as 607 ilvl then I do now with 620 ilvl.
The burst I was seeing with Trueshot active, is seemingly gone.
I think you're really feeling the loss of the 3 extra seconds. It doesn't sound like much, but that's a 18% loss of TS buff, which in turn is on the back end of the CD, meaning we also lost 3 seconds of +10% crit chance and +20% crit strike damage. That's enough for 2 aimed shots in ST or an Aimed Shot and a pumped up Multi-Shot in AOE, that would be buffed because of our tier set bonus and Bulletstorm. That in itself is a huge loss, more than I thought it would be initially. But with the extra focus we spend now, I'm getting MORE Trueshots out. Overall it's a net gain, especially with bigger pulls.

But it really I really feel it outside the cooldown aswell.
If I look at the logs for Marksman dungeons, nearly everything in the top dps is before 23 oct.
Been trying DarkRanger in dungeons. But it's just not worth it.
Do you change the build strings for each dungeon or? I mostly play high key mythics 10 and above , item level 629 but im lacking total average damage , i only manage 1.3-1.5 at most
It really depends on how big you're pulling to really push the damage. I usually sit around that amount as well, but when we started pulling bigger, I got into the 2M range. Most keys I use the same build, the only exception would be NW for example that if you pull big enough, you can ru nwith Light Ammo.
@@MrEggplantdang your videos are so good. I managed to get a total 1.83m dps yesterday, my personal best. I learned to be patient and just actively planting ahead from watching your videos. I dont waste big cooldowns anymore , and the difference is huge. I used to fiddle and cancel aimed shots because I had to move all the time, now i am much better at timing abilities and often top dps on bosses. I was so weak vs single target before watching your videos

Hey thank you! The mog is a combination of a lot of pieces, but the one that catches your eye, the shoulders, are apart of the CM set from MoP and is no longer in game. Dark ranger, slightly.
But sentinel feels more natural.
However survival or BM would do better dps with 20 ilvl lower.
I've been playing Sentinel but I'm going to be testing DR this week after the updates. I'll have a video out later this weekend!
Hey what are the bugs for dark ranger currently?
Luckily, most should be fixed as of today. The big one was with Withering Fire. Sometimes it wouldn't shoot Deathblow procs and would pull mobs you weren't in combat with. That should be fixed today!
Have you purposefully not posted a DR AoE opener due to the bugs?

I haven't played hunter this expan. but wouldn't Volley+Salvo override the Explosive Shot you initiated before? Shouldn't there be time in-between to let the Explosive shot explode first?
Hey Steve! No, they both go off. The buff on the enemy will refresh, but you will indeed get two explosions. You can try it on a dummy in Dornagal if you don't believe me :) Welcome back to the hunting party my friend!

I think we need to wait until bug fixes and additional tuning comes through but it seems currently Sentinel is still more damage in M+

Right now it's 100% Sentinel. We'll see how that changes once the bugs are fixed and they'll most likely be some tuning as well.

There isn't, just because it was completely broken. Some pulls were wildly over doing damage and some were wildly under performing due to the pugs. Because of that, I opted to not show it. As soon as the bugs are fixed, I will make a stand alone DR video that'll be abridged and shorter, with updated information.

so far i'm pretty disappointed.. it seems like i went from top 1/2 in details m3(that's where i'm at) to just above the tank, i.e. slot 3, regardless of builds. it seems the new animation for rapid fire is throwing something off too.
I dont understand these "buffs". Monday night i Sim'd my self and was doing 1.3m dps. Now after the rework im only doing 960k. I thought these changes were for the better?

I highly doubt it. My guess is they'll fix it within a week or so. Maybe that's just the copium talking. There's a ton of classes with bugs.. ele shaman for example is bursting 25M+ dps on pulls in M+ this week lol.

Sentinel is still better on AOE. I've been playing Dark Ranger on ST cleave fights though and doing pretty great damage with that.
Is AoE Dark Ranger just not viable?
It's currently too bugged to get a good read on everything. Some pulls your Withering Fire just doesn't work, or will pull packs that you're not in combat with. Sometimes Black Arrow does double damage for no reason. Sometimes it only works if you use the ability instead of what Withering Fire is supposed to do. They should get it fixed soon and then I'll have a separate video just for DR M+.

New wow player here and first time hunter. I was wondering why there isn't a rotation for dark ranger AOE? Is it just a lot better to play sentinel ? Awesome video btw, keep up the great work!
I didn't add one because it's so bugged and very noticeable in M+/AOE. Sometimes your Black Arrow just doesn't work, sometimes it pulls things in packs you're not attacking, Withering Fire isn't working as intended currently. I'll have a stand alone video for it as soon as they fix the bugs! I'm just as frustrated as anyone because DR is exactly what I want from my MM.
Was so excited to play dark ranger aoe in mythic plus turns out it sucks and the entire rework is garbage unless your pvping what a massive let down.
Same, i tried some m+ Key . My hunt Is 610 ans dark ranger IS absolute garbage damage . Its such a waste. I just dont like sentinel
It's not that it doesn't do damage, it's because our main abilities are currently bugged and just flat out not working. Which is SUPER FRUSTRATING. We'll see how quickly they fix them and I'll have a stand alone video for just DR M+.

@TaitanGG one of the main additions to the rework, withering fire, half the time doesn't shoot the extra Black Arrows like it's supposed to, when it does work it sometimes does double damage for no reason, it'll also pull and attack things you're not in combat with (happened in my recordings), Black Arrow will hit enemies that already have a dot on them instead of being a smart cast... and then other times it'll work just fine. It's very inconsistent currently.
