- With the weather being nice and clear but the conditions were deadly, this put us to the test, the paths were like ice rinks and even the climb up the Mountain was really icy, then the high winds moved in on us making it even worse. Something we learned from this and that's to buy Crampons and an ice axe!
RAW Footage in Scotland
Well done on making it to the top in such extreme weather conditions 👏 it looked pretty hairy in parts but well worth the stunningly beautiful panoramic views from the summit. Thank you 😊
i would never be able to keep up with Alec, that lady is a real trooper! Kudos!
She sure is
I am happily astonished, thank you so much for sharing.
Wonderful to watch.
Respect to you two.
Thank you
Thank you Alec and friend.Absolutely stunning.❤️❤️
Thanks
Absolutely fantastic well done thanks for sharing !
You are brave of heart!! I don’t think I would attempt that even without the snow! Beautiful!
This one is on my bucket list, when travel restrictions are over. Ty2 for showing us the amazing winter view 😍💙!
If I'm crazy enough to ever think of attempting such a feat, I'd book you as my guide any day of the week.
Another really enjoyable climb, a fun watch! but more than a little scary at times.
I hope to see those crampons on your next snow & ice adventure.
Big thanks to you both for sharing the 'cobbler & his wife' & as ever stay safe!
Cheers buddy 👍
Alec, I love your nature explores just as much as your abandoned explores. Thanks for posting these. Stay safe
Thanks
Alec this was epic. Really a great climb. Looks like you had a lot of fun with your lady friend. Keep up these great explores. The views just take your breath away. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks we sure did have fun
Seriously, you got some real awesome nature in Scotland. Respect. That´s something to be proud of ! Nice 👍
Thanks 😊
About time for the gloves. You guys did great. Great pics. Thank you
Thanks 😊
Hi Alec & friend! I love watching u with both ur family & friends, u like u have lots of fun. I grew up in Vermont USA we had snow so high u could walk onto ur roof. I never tried climbing the mountains in the winter. As a kid we had field trips climbing the mountains it was so much fun.our elementary school had woods behind it & they would include paths for us to explore. Now I would never be able to do this kind of stuff with my health. Plus because of my Ankylosing Spondylitis I had to have my right hip replaced Sept 2,2020 so I couldn't even if I tried. Thanks for always bringing a smile to my face & making me feel like I'm there with u 😊
Thanks your welcome hope your not in too much pain
I'm in VT🙂 where abouts did you grow up?
@@Naomi.H.85 Barre next to Montpelier 😊🙂 where are u?
Top gear and adventure close to the top . Exploring is paying off .. Keep it going
Wowza, I’m freezing just watching. I miss seeing snow. Great explore as usual. Thank you 👍❤️😊
Thanks Chrissy
That looked like hard going, but worth it for the stunning view from the top!
I hope you kept safe on those icy hills...🙄
Stunning views
Couldn’t wait to watch this. What an amazing achievement for you both. Spectacular views. Well done and thanks for sharing your adventure. Crampons next time though. Stay safe.
Thanks
WTHECK ALEC!
😣This looks slippery, cold and dangerously crazy! Again Alec showing no fear...Wow! There is NO way I can do this... unless I have to save someone's life. The view and scenery is PRICELESS!
The photos Alec, breathtakingly beautiful.🏔💕
Awesome> Love> From Toronto, Canada

Nice Adventure Alec, good to see you both out & about, although it looked very dangerous with all that ice . Stay safe 👍
Sure was and thanks for watching
👍
But what about the picnic and some animals to feed 🤣! Wow that was an adventure, the views are amazing, you can nearly see us on the Northumberland border under the Cheviots! 🥶
Well done you 2 fantastic next time I'm coming along your brave.
Innocent and crazy, climbing to the clouds... Title of latest film?
What a great place x
From Texas. How long was the trek round trip? And in the “warmer” days how long then? I look forward to getting to Scotland in the next few years ☺️👍 Stay safe and thanks for letting us be part of your adventures 🥾🥾❄️❄️
Scared me a bit with the slips and sliding. Lol glad you both made it down safely..the bonus were those amazing views. 🙂
Sure was thanks for watching
Hi there Alec. Brrr! What a crazy climb. Who's idea was it? That rock formation looked like the ruins of some ancient fort or something. Is it a natural formation?. Those pictures were really stunning and that little stream. Thank you for sharing your video and stay safe. Cheers!
Hi Alex how long did it take to go up and to come down
Think it was around 5 and a half hours Tom
You guys are so cute. Why are you climbing with no gloves. Love your accent. You speak very good English.
We enjoyed watching you, thank you.
The Cobbler is a brilliant climb and even in the summer that ascent route can be a challenge. I have only done it once in conditions like this and never again haha. At the scrambling part where you approach the large rock that you need to climb over. I had ice right behind me and just couldn't get a foot grip. Pretty much froze on the spot. Eventually found a hand placement and got the hell up there. The views always make it worthwhile though. Good decision not to thread the needle! Great video.
Cheers buddy!
been climbing and camping cobbler for over 30 years - my favourite mountain - thanks for vid
Nice one
Wow well done to you both she's a lovely wee tuffie Alec. Your face on the way down was sheer fear and there she was just taking it in her stride. Will she be joining you on your urban explores or just the alps?
Both Stephen 🙂
@@ExploringwithAlec great well has she a name or is it just wee lassie lol?
AMIGO QUE LUGAR TOP PARA GRAVAR PARABÉNS PELO SEU TRABALHO BLZ T.M.J 🤜🤛📹👏👏👏👍🏻👍🏻
muito obrigado
This looks brilliant, only wish I had the skill and the fitness level to do this. Not even sure I'd manage in summer. Great video well done.
Thanks
Hermosos paisajes!!! Me encanta
Gracias
Waah !! beautiful et hard hike !!!
I live in ontario Canada. I love watching your videos they bring me to Scotland. Once all this shit is over with I want to come see your beautiful country. And do some hiking of my own. Stay safe. And I cant believe your friend girlfriend wife sister didnt have gloves on most of the way up. I dont no how her hands were not freezing.
Hey Alec. How long did it take you and friend to trek round trip on Cobbler? And how long would it take you if it were summertime?
about 4 and a half 5 hours going up and 2 and a half coming back down maybe more as it was dark by the time we got to the bottom
@@ExploringwithAlec Thank you 😃stay warm and safe 🔥🧤❄️🥾
I'm sweating buckets watching this, please get crampons and an axe for the next icy trip. Shes a tough lassie, and she makes me laugh.
Looks like your climbing Everest at some point !! I’m 19 mins in and looks so bad
Was an amazing experience but deadly at points would do it again lol
Wow 🤩 you guys are so savage! NEW SUB ❤️ loving 🥰 ur vids! Stay safe love 💕 Australia 🇦🇺 💋
Thanks
Scary and slippery as heck, the wind was NO JOKE either. So, did you both slide down would think that safer on the ankles and for your camera's!
No was far too dangerous to do that
You two make a lovely couple 😘😘😘😘😘
He is more funny looking then you but maybe a wee bit less crazy :) she always behind you cause ya look funny :) only did this walk in summer Second time i seen you climb with this lovely Lass she just cracks me up with the banter :) I have a brand new pair of crampons that fit all sizes that i can no longer use and your welcome to them How you got such a cute climbing partner thats more crazy then a barrel of monkeys i never know but atleast she no sliding down on her bum like last walk ya did Love the video Thankyou both :)
haha cheers buddy, shes an awesome climbing partner all the better when you have good banter and a laugh makes the day so much better
@@ExploringwithAlec Loved it mate the way you both got on
@@lindsaymacpherson8782 Thanks mate
Hi, can you go into the RUclips studio app on your phone please, go to comments then select 'Awaiting Approval'. You should see a load of comments in here. I had an issue recently people saying I was not replying to comments. Well I had an absolute stack of comments in this folder. A RUclips accoubt name called Happy Dacey seems to be having this issue with you. Cheers
Its saying no comments held for review
@@ExploringwithAlec fair enough mate, perhaps you just stopped replying to this particular person 🤣 I'm shocked that there are no comments in there though, I had hundreds and my channel is tiny compared to yours. Worth checking now n then though 👍
@@TheDukesOfDerbyshire Its weird though sometimes i get notifications then when i click on it the comment isn't there, I'll try look into it more i'm using a pc to do this
@@ExploringwithAlec yes thats the exact issue I was having and they were all in this folder. Have a look on your laptop I bet you will find them all. I some comments asking me why I never reply to them, it was quite sad really. I have many hours going through them all and replying, some were from a year ago !! Let me know if you find them
Dont think you getting my comments mate 😕. Sent one 2days ago .you got this one ?
Yep got this one, its not the first time thats happened i see the notifications yet when i click on them the comments don't appear
@@ExploringwithAlec thanks mate . I understand my mate Dukes of Derbyshire been in touch about it this afto . Ive recommended him give you a viewing 😊. My comment you havnt got is still there on my screen . I like giving you positive comments as you know , so its unfair if you dont get them . The climb was awesome Alec . Better than tv documentaries cos it was 'pure' . No false drama . Just as it was . It was made all the more special by the care shown for your colleague . Safety for her was clearly important for you dispite the jossing 😊. That was nice . Not that she needed it ! She was like a mountain goat ....but far more beautiful 😊. Respect to you both and thanks for a truly spectacular adventure share ! 👊
Having climbed the Cobbler many times I really enjoyed your video, I saw as soon as you hit the ridge as usual the conditions deteriorate somewhat, surprising lack of folk about on your ascent, must make it harder carrying the camera in front of yourself too, great video indeed, did you pay the ridiculous car park fee or is the machine even still there? Great work, keep it up.
Pay for parking? hell no lol
hi alec would love to join you going places and that
Good adventure. Bring shoe spikes next time
Cant you take Andrew Craig and Mark on a climb like that? at least the comedy would be great, another good one Alec scenery is beautiful
Mark and Andrew would most definitely fall down the mountain to their deaths, me and Craig would probably die laughing 🤦♂️😂
@@ExploringwithAlec Many thanks for the uploads though ,im sure theyy would manage fun watching tho
So when you're not breaking and entering into peoples property, your climbing hills, inequipped for the conditions, breaching pandemic rules. Classy.
I have a back log of videos from over a year ago don't judge, anyway try getting yourself out for a bit
Wowwww 🙄🙄🙄
We allowed out in hills
I have videos from a year ago i haven't uploaded yet don't judge
How many girlfriends do you have Alec? Where are your crampons? Absolutely Magnificent. And your Lady is Beautiful.
