Hey guys. Let me know if you liked this style of video. I am not going to stop with tutorials, but want to know if you enjoy other type of content as well :). Thanks.
Keep it coming. This video pointed out some things about schools I wasn't thinking about when I was a kid, what makes me sad now (disappointed). I always had some expectations that I will learn something I (personally) want at those (specialized) schools, but I never got that. What made me mad and I had to work really hard on my own to learn. But it might be because I was looking at it the wrong way, or the education system in our country is simply not good enough. Well, you still need to work hard on your own, but schools can be used in your benefit if you know how to use them. I work as 3D artist/animator now for some time (didn't need school to learn it on my own). So it doesn't matter for me anymore. But it might matter for some who are just starting. And there is a good point about talent. I am sure lots of people still don't see it like that.
Hey Milos, have to agree with all the points and have linked to all of my students. I have always thought the same about the schools, I get students all the time expecting to come in for an hour and progress, or just because they are on the course they will get good. Lot of young people now think its a given.
Superb video, loved the typography! And every rule you spoke about resonated with me. I really think everyone, not just animators, can learn a lot from this video.
Thanks a lot man, becoming a good animator i very complicated, especially when you don't know where to start.... so thank you for all your work it helps a lot :) keep going !
I love this video. Thank you for making it, and well said. I'm a 3D animator that concentrates on First Person/Gameplay work rather than character and these tips are really great. I'm hoping to make time to learn character animation too.
I've been teaching animation for years and years, and I couldn't have said it better. In future, I will make a point of showing my students this video. Thanks.
Thank you very much for the video! I really enjoyed it. I think you are so right when you talk about talent and learning a new skill. I always hated it when peope tell me 'Oh you are so talented! You are so lucky to have that kind of gift!' - 'No stupid, i am just hard working'
Awesome video! I'm doing an internship right now and this video was a real motivation boost. I really admired the production quality of your videos when I first discovered your channel and you just keep pushing it even further - amazing, keep going!
Your videos are really really powerful.Thank you very much!!!!!As an animation student,I always feel confused about the problems you mentioned in this video:(
big time agree, getting muscle memory to flow is super big. it involves a lot of discouragement, frustration, repetition, low dopamine... but especially the will to self-educate nonetheless. if you face an obstacle, make it a hurdle, and make the hurdle become a propulsion engine =)
Thank you ! I discovered your channel yesterday and I immediately felt in love with your work. I'm an indie game programmer who knows almost nothing about animation. I feel so limited by this lack of knowledge in my projects, so I started experimenting with some animations in 3ds Max and Blender but I was really disappointed with my results. This video literally motivated me to learn animation and move forward step by step. I really enjoy the experience points metaphor (love the part at 0:54). Right now I'm going to follow your tutorials and I'll take a closely look at what you'll do in the future. Thanks again and take care of you !
New viewer here. This was very good and inspiring even for advanced users. No matter what level user you are, it's always great to remember that we can continue to rank up points in our existing craft or a brand new craft. I love the achievement analogy. Great vid. I subscribed and will watch more.
Hi cerny, it's great video. Do you know how to mixing any saved CAT motion files into one scene, like combine walk then stop for idle and then walk again. Just like working biped clip in motion mixer.

Hey Milos, loved the video. Would you be okay with giving some feedback for some current animations i'm working on? I could upload it to sketchfab for ease of viewing/feedback :)

Hey Bence. I don't know if I will have time for this, but you can send it to me and will see. Maybe I could even make a video about it. Don't know.
Noo... what we call "arts" is not about practicing, it's about transcending.. You have mediums - pen and paper, or computer. Somehow, some artists are able to express themselves easier through pen and paper than through computer. Animating on pen and paper is more satisfying than computer, to me. I work in 3d for long time, it feels like drawing with brick. Sometimes I pray for nuclear holocaust, so that humanity may return to the old ways of traditional animation... And don't kid yourself, animation industry will never be art. Most animation is manneristic garbage. many workmen, few artists.
