Love that you say that about jell pens and fixing things. I recently ripped off some color from a post card from a famous photographer that he sent me years ago.. I was so surprised at myself for not getting upset, i was thinking that's okay i can fix it!! Only because of you i can fix things.. Thanks so much for this yummy looking cupcake and all the valuable lessons you have taught and the noises!!
I have a mossery art book. I paint on one side of the page and journal on the other. I have 2 or 3 pages with new artwork glued in because I didn't like what I originally did. Lol Thanks Jerry's for giving us more time with Lindsey!
I really miss your friday live paint sessions. I stopped doing them over a year ago when my hubby passed unexpectedly but am trying to get my life back to somewhat normal and that was and is the one thing I really enjoyed. Hope to see you starting that back up and maybe other people can beg for it too.
Thanks Lindsay. Yay, you did food. I love doing your food tutorials!! Usually have to do it twice before I get it close to correct but I learn soooooo much. Food is very forgiving, flowers not so much with me. Looks like I could pick that cupcake right up and take a bite. 👍👍👍💜💜💜
You might try some big protective ear muffs that block sound like you would use at a shooting range for your dog. ive seen a few videos where working dogs use them as protective gear.
I’m just now jumping into the watercolor H-town has a Jerry Artarama I need to go check it out. Thank you for the cupcake 🧁 the strawberry 🍓 was a bonus.
I feel like the palette is sharp and crisp and the painting is out of focus ... it doesnt appear blurry but when watching the video it feels as if my eyes are straining..I am surely hungry now and am going to paint this! Thank you :)
I"m watching this on Thursday morning. Good thing I've already eaten because that cupcake is making me hungry. Also, two of my favorite chocolate combinations are chocolate/mint (thanks to your talking about the color green) , and chocolate/peanut butter. Here in Canada, we have a chocolate bar called Crispy Crunch which is our version of your Butterfingers.
I’m glad to hear you say about the Bain work it takes to do markers....lol. Me and my ms are enjoying the learning of makers! I fighting to keep my head working! Art Works!
I have signed up for quite a few of your courses and need to stop spending so much time on you tube and get stuck in! I have joined the critique club using the discount so thank you! At the moment I am practising on cheap watercolour paper ...and the skills I am practising...I don't think the paper are doing them justice! I think that is my next obstacle to get over
You really should get good watercolor paper. 100% cotton. No amount of skill or practice can overcome cheap paper. I went to CheapJoes.com and got one of their sample packs of paper with five different brands to try. Search for "watercolor sample " Turns out my favorite is their own brand called Kilimanjaro. I did not like the popular Arches brand at all. Next time I will order the sample pack of just Kilimanjaro.....16 11" x 15" sheets for about $12 on sale. That's just .75 per sheet! In any case, when shopping around for good watercolor paper, be it sheets, pads, or blocks, I found that a good price is one cent per square inch of each sheet. So 9" x 12" sheets would be $1.08, or $10.80 for a 10-sheet pad or block, or $21.60 for a 20-sheet pad or block. I DO USE cheap paper, though, Canson XL for when I'm just smearing paint colors around, as a "scratch sheet" when I'm painting something to test out color mixing, brush strokes, etc
@@OhJodi69 that's a great answer. I do a lot of watercolor work. When playing in my journal all is good. But when I really want to paint something with some quality and to learn new techniques, or perfect old ones, really good watercolor paper makes a huge difference and also reduces frustration.
@@rnee1000 To me it's just not worth trying to save 50 cents on a sheet of paper. And good paper lets you try techniques like scrubbing and lifting, working with more water, and the durability lets you try correcting mistakes. I only started painting late last year, and I wish I had trusted myself to use good paper from the beginning. I would have been less frustrated, and my novice paintings would still look much better. The Kilimanjaro from Cheap Joes is such a good value to me, it takes a beating, and the "back side" of the paper is nearly the same as the front, so it's like getting two sheets for the price of one, lol Happy painting!
I love this one! Can’t wait to try it. Roofers still working on my house and it’s so loud. Hope your remodel is going well. Thank you for this delicious painting :)
I read somewhere that instead of saying sorry, we should be saying thank you. It really resonated with me because I apologize a lot too. So instead of Sorry this video is so long, it would be thank you for staying until the end. Or something like that? Anyways, that advise sort of blew my mind. So I’m passing it along. :)
Yummy looking. You’re so good with the little details. I don’t like chocolate and strawberries either. The sweet and the acid. Not a happy combo In my mouth. But I do like chocolate and coffee. Oh well. Thanks for sharing the lovely painting.
What book are you using to painting in? Looks like a great size. I apologize it you already told us. You should just publish a book of painted food i would buy it!! Or a new class "how to paint food"!
Hey Lindsay, Loved the Watercolor video Today!!😍 QUESTION: I was wondering if you would be able to recommend a Set of Watercolor Brushes that aren't too expensive & their good/ok to watercolor with? I live on a fixed income cuz I'm disabled. So unfortunately, the Great Watercolor Brushes are out of my price range. 😔 I Love these videos where you just chat away. I learn a lot from you. Take Care Lindsay .. hugz, Jill 🤗😊 tfs 🙂
Sure, for a taklon (firmer) try princeton Snap brushes or the zen or menta all media brushes from royal & langnickle. For softer brushes I recommend the zen or menta watercolor line. All of those are about $3-$4 per brush, less in sets, and are carried in the big box stores.
I have that Turner set you mentioned. Some of the colors are really lovely but those Mayan Colors truly suck ;) I hate not using my paint, but these are not paints that I would feel okay with gifting to any junior artists in my group (as I did with the Royal and Langnickel paints when I moved up to the Turners a few years ago). What in the world can we do with those paints???? I don't do any artsy craftsy stuff anymore..... wracking my poor old brain for a solution.
Hi Lindsay, I'm not a very good painter but I have so much fun. My biggest concern is my painting lack realism like yours. Your cupcake looks like you could eat.it, mine looks like a cartoon .lm using bees paper and white knights paint Any suggestions will help. I watch a lot of different artists you explain things the best
I think the key aspects is having a solid drawing and giving yourself enough time to get the look you want. The more realistic you want it to look the more time it will take.
Looks delicious!! DON'T worry about any barely perceptible noise. Have you listened to other videos. There's dogs barking, babies crying, hubbies with whatevers, phones ringing, the mail carrier...I'm saying you have extremely quiet videos. STOP THAT WORRYING!!! 💖 Oh yeah, chocolate is good with fruit. 😀
This is my year to go all out with sketching and watercolor. Thank you, Linsay.
You can do it!
Very realistic I use to decorate cakes cupcakes and cookies. It looks delicious 🧁🧁🧁

Love that cupcake! Too cute!
Mmmmm! Now I want a cupcake!! 😄😄😄
Love the cupcake,it looks yummy. Thanks.
Enjoyed watching your tutorial!

Looks yummy. 😋 Your watercolor videos are the best! I love tutorials like this. I'm gonna give this a try. Thanks

That was so much fun. Thank you
Yes. Chocolate with raspberries. Yum 😋
I have the thin Mono one. It's very useful for me.
So pretty I loved the longer video! Thank you Lindsay!
Finally, someone else who doesn't go for fruit and chocolate! I keep my chocolate pure for sure. We are now best friends! LOL!
Gin Sanders same here. I pick the chocolate off the strawberries the the berries. I leave the chocolate for the hubby.
If you haven’t taken any of Lindsay’s classes you should check them out. They are GREAT!
Thank you!
I agree! I have 3 or 4💜😁
I agree. Just like sitting in a face to face instructor art class highly highly recommend Angie
Angeline bushy Except with Lindsay’s classes you can replay! You know, for those moments when you’re like “wait...how’d she do that?!?!”
Lololol!! Sitting here in my basement craft room and no sooner than my furnace shuts off, yours kicks on
I love the mono erasers, I have their mini zero. Also love shopping at Jerry's. Beautiful piece.
I love the sound effects of the frosting...you me laugh..
You might try some big protective ear muffs that block sound like you would use at a shooting range for your dog. ive seen a few videos where working dogs use them as protective gear.
yummmm! I actually like some things covered with chocolate, not all, but some. And you are right, they do look nice. Now I want a cupcake!☕
I love the Tombow zero erasers. Great for details. They have mechanical pencils that holds that small eraser also. I like them.
I’m just now jumping into the watercolor H-town has a Jerry Artarama I need to go check it out. Thank you for the cupcake 🧁 the strawberry 🍓 was a bonus.
This would make a cute card indeed! :)Thanks for the inspiration!
Paint it, hell someone bake that for me yum 😋 Your painting makes my mouth water.

JODI L PETERSON For sure. Good paper is totally worth the price.
Mmmmm, delish! Happy Valentine’s Day!💜💜💜
This really takes the cake! Oh my, it looks so real! Thanks for your awesome videos.
I love this one! Can’t wait to try it. Roofers still working on my house and it’s so loud. Hope your remodel is going well. Thank you for this delicious painting :)
I bought the value set from Jerry’s several years ago. Good brushes!
I really like this one Lindsay 💗 !
Awesome illustration. Nice art. Looks very delicious. 🎨✏️✨✨
Chocolate covered orange peel!!!!!
Love it!!
Thank you. I enjoyed your tutorial very much.
Chocolate on everything is good, even on my spaghetti. Lol

I’m with you Lindsay! No chocolate with fruit for me either! Yuk!
Love your work!
This was lovely Lindsey...so pretty...would love to get this card! Thanks so much...Janis from the Yukon Canada
I also detest strawberries covered in chocolate... I love cherries covered in chocolate
This is pretty and well rendered. I like fruit and I like chocolate, but I prefer them separately. I can totally live without cupcakes.
Lindsay could you please tell me the make of watercolour paint that you are using in this video - thank you
I like Nutella on fresh bananas. Not sure if that counts as chocolate on acid fruit but it sure is tasty.
Wow 😍😍😍
Yummy looking. You’re so good with the little details. I don’t like chocolate and strawberries either. The sweet and the acid. Not a happy combo In my mouth. But I do like chocolate and coffee. Oh well. Thanks for sharing the lovely painting.
What is the brand of you sketch book you are using today? ....and I love those tombow erasers too..
Arteza, the cloth cover one
Thanks!
Hello nice work love all you do. I have a question. What's the name of that notebook you are using?
It's the arteza hardbound watercolor book
This is so fun. I love when you paint food. I know this is a Jerry's tutorial but I must ask if the square journal is Arteza and what size it is?
Chocolate in coffee is A-OK, but otherwise, I like my chocolate by itself! Love your videos and the classes are great! Going slowly through them...
I don't like chocolare and fruit either--keeps you from enjoying either one!--but your painting looks delicious! Thank you !
What book are you using to painting in? Looks like a great size. I apologize it you already told us. You should just publish a book of painted food i would buy it!! Or a new class "how to paint food"!
What paint do you use?
This is turner

That it does look delish! That's all I need is extra pounds...lol excellent work
There's no calories in the painting!
You freehand draw so well! That looks really yummy! I’d probably do a better job baking it than painting it.

Amazon. Did some pretty mixed with them, they can give you some nice soft atmospheric effects in landscapes because they can granulate.

I’m allergic to strawberries so I can’t eat them either way but I’m a purist when it comes to fruit
I’d eat chocolate on just about anything
