I'm in love with the way you painted the frosting & sprinkles. I'm starting my 3rd realistic cupcake painting & watched this for motivation to get in the painting mood. Definitely helped! I'm subscribing!
Hi Guenevere, I have just subscribed after viewing your amazing wrapped sweet, and this video is equally informative and pleasantly presented. The cupcake is really beautiful and for a first attempt at a flame totally realistic. I opine, when viewed close up, the background block in, appears to show through some of the painting. I wonder if painting up to the object might avoid this. In another video, an artist, when blocking in, paints in diagonal overlays, which tends to smooth out brush strokes, if a dry no 4 round eg red sable is rapidly dabbed so lightly it scarce touches the surface, it can also help ensure a smooth background over the diagonal overlays. I hope these opined suggestions help. Thanks for your altruistically shared and most helpful videos, regards, Joe. ps: I was looking at your shiny toffee painting and there it seems marks may be in the priming, if so I opine it may be the same here, more logical perhaps than in your super realistic style. If you wish me to delete this comment just send 'delete' and I will, regards.
Hi Guenevere! I've been watching your videos and love them! I was trying to take note of your watch to see how much total time was spent on this painting, but lost track and can't tell when one day switches to the next. Do you remember how many hours it took to paint this? I'm so slow but I'm trying to get faster. Thanks so much for sharing your work and process!
Guenevere, your work is inspiring. I have been working on some still life paintings and am always looking to for advice from experienced painters like yourself. Are you mixing your paint with medium and if so which one? Do you have a video which discusses your materials and techniques? I subscribed to your channel and look forward to viewing all of your wonderful work. Thanks!
You do amazing work Guinevere!

Thanks Gema, I will have to check out your work. Do you have a blog as well?

LOL, Thanks! The recipe is oil paint, practice and a lot more practice. :-)

I believe that one was about 16 hours. I don't like to rush. 👍

I don't have a video covering all of my materials, that sounds like a great idea for a future video. Thanks
Is this available in “real time” (full video) on your Patreon channel?
By the way, showing the reference photo would really help!
Wow.
I can't do this.
I just want to eat it
CUUUUUUUPCCAAAAKKKKE!
Looks pretty tasty! Nice work!
Thanks!
