Athens sky turns orange with dust clouds from Africa

Clouds of dust blown in from the Sahara covered Athens and other Greek cities after days of strong winds from the south, limiting visibility and prompting warnings from authorities of breathing risks. It was one of the worst such episodes to hit the country since 2018.

Greece is geographically right above Africa. It happens quite a bit but I don't remember every seing it so pronounced.

That’s Greece. If you check the world map you’ll see where Sahara is located , you’ll see the distance. .. hence why the clouds “brought” all that dust over from Africa.
