And that is exactly why I would never vote for Haley. President Obama didn't "cause" division in the USA - it was the racists in USA who couldn't accept & respect him. Here reasoning is faulty to say the least.

When I was in 1st grade in CA, on the first day and forever forward I proudly sat next to the only black boy in my little school. The teacher told my mother at parent teacher conference that she hoped I would not be treated differently because of my friendship with him. My mom asked me how I felt about that and I told her, "He is my friend and I like being his friend." (BTW we went to school together for the next 12 years and then to University of CA.)
Okay, that was in the mid 1950's, but it sounds like we've not learned much since that time. When will we learn?

Wow, it confirms, racism was taught. Your dear parent definitely didn't teach you to hate another kids because of their phenotype. Another mother would have warned you off but your mum felt, their is no harm and left you to decide who to be with. So impressive considering that time.

That people will be getting used to not just flying wherever they want while his wife and kids flew around the world on separate flights many times, often just a couple of hours apart. The house being MAGA is one obvious example of how she is wrong. Wishful thinking doesn’t make her a bad person. Overt conscious and obvious racism is hugely problematic as it is often the catalyst in creating and endorsing others to exist, Trump for example. You cannot cripple unconscious without destroying the conscious.

Since a wide variety of racial groups voted President Obama into office, I would say that he united the country.
The Tea Party and the Birtherism lie, grew out of a black man being elected president.
Many Whites, including rural and working class ones who now support the former president, gave their vote to Obama over Romney, until Birtherism and the Tea Party, with help from FOX and the many right-wing radio stations, convinced them that the black man conned them into voting for him. That he was not an American, but a Kenyan, and he was a secret Muslim. So, racists anger reopened the division that Obama's election had helped closed.

While America has made strides towards equality, it has a history marked by racism. The colonization period involved atrocities against Native Americans, while slavery stained the early years of the nation. The Civil War was fought in part to combat racism, and Jim Crow laws perpetuated segregation. Instances such as mass shootings and racial injustices underscore ongoing challenges. The response to Obama’s presidency and subsequent events reflect persistent racial tensions. In this film, she plays the maid of fine southern white folk in Montgomery, AL during the time of Martin Luther King in the 1960s. I urge you to watch it. As a northerner who has lived in Alabama for the past 7 years, I can tell you nothing has changed in terms of the deep racism in the south. Those same fine white folk who punctuate every sentence my mentioning Jesus just changed up some of the words that they use in public but the hatred and racism is still there.

Also how white people in general but southern whites specifically are portrayed as these mega bigots. I have been around the world, and have interacted with people from just about every ethic group and I’m here to tell you racism is alive and well everywhere in this world and white people aren’t even in the top three on the list of being these mega bigots.

Love both Alyssa and Sunny. I always appreciate both views. I want to note a scene from 'Guess Who' with Bernie Mac. He's speaking with his daughter, and she's telling him about her significant other's boss. She says he was nice and everything, but there was just a look in his eyes, and something about him didn't seem quite right. This is a look every African-American person knows, and I can promise you, if you ask any African-American people in your life if they know that look, they will tell you yes. So yes, when you go to the grocery store, it may only be one of 100 people, but if you see that look of hatred every day, you're not going to feel like this isn't a racist country. Sara Haines is the best one on this show and the only one who doesn’t pander to a certain group of people. Sunny is probably the worst of the panel, because she is clearly just a biased leftist (I’m saying that as someone on the left myself) who never sees any nuance in any issue that she wants to just characterize as black and white (no pun in intended.) The truth is we can say we don’t know that the nation isn’t majority racist but we actually do based on polling, statistics, voting records, etc. I’m not even sure the majority of MAGA are truly racist. But Sunny’s lived experience is anecdotal and she always wants to paint herself as the most intelligent. She could very well be the most educated, but she’s often the least informed and deals in cliches and simplistic lines of thinking.
