    I can say by being an over the hill, overweight, out of shape guy that has decided to get back in shape and started walking, the Merrell is the best walking shoe that I have owned. My whole body hurt the first day....except my feet. It was like I hadn't walked at all. They do run small but I decided to break them in instead of going up a size. Worked great for me.

      Good to hear. No doubt Merrell makes a great product.

    I wear jungle Mocs in autumn and winter at work (indoors). My feet are always cold, only Merrells make me feel comfortable, it’s so cozy to sit in front of the computer! I just bought third pair. 😂

    Been using Merrell shoes for over two decades and currently have eight pairs, plus three pairs that have been retired after over five years. Won't plan to try any other brand anytime soon.

    I got a wide foot, I go EEE, 4E if I can find it. Merrell does offer a wide size, its a bit snug at first but loosens up. I wear my normal sneaker size (I go a half size down with all leather dress shoes cause they stretch), if you are having trouble picking, I'd lean towards the bigger size though. I have plantar fascitis, the Merrell's arch is a godsend.
    For the widefooted, plantar fascitis crowd, best options I've found are:
    New Balance 990s for casual city wear, athletics (you may be tempted by other lower cost models, do not be, unless you are a pure runner, then there is a whole world of shoes for that)
    Merrell Jungle Mocs for outdoor and trail (they do good with water and snow, but of course are still low tops)
    For leather shoes for work and etc, anything from SAS or Samuel Hubbard.
    And of course for anyone standing for long periods, Birkenstocks are great for plantar fascitis once you get used to them, they do some casual shoes (the bend is a great leather sneaker, if you don't like the modern mesh stuff) along with the sandals and clogs.
    There are probably other good shoes for plantar, but I prob didn't try them because I couldn't fit my wide size.

    for wide feet dont think twice - merell adventure / jungle moabs are so so comfortable. I own both for about 4 years and have now replaced one with the exact same because I tried 20 other brands nothing came to that level of comfort and durability. great quality 4 years I can still wear my old pair (now used for warehouse and yard work only) and the new pair are elegant enough for a night out

    Great review and well thought out! I noticed that your previous Merrell was the Orbit MOC. What are your thoughts of the Orbit vs. the Jungle?

    • @KeithBlade
      @KeithBlade  2 года назад +2

      Hi, thanks for that. If by Orbit you mean the older shoe I referred to, it's nearly identical to the Jungle MOC in looks and fit. Slightly different bottom outsole.

    The Merrells run true to size to me. I have two of them I ordered off of Zappos and I just ordered a third off of Zappos. I am tylically a womens 7.5 to 8 but mostly an 8 and I wear an 8 in the Merrell Jungle Moc. I wear Superfeet insoles in them. I have a medium arch. I have a green pair like you and a black pair. I just ordered a gray pair off Amazon. They’re excellent shoes. I have three other styles of Merrells. Im what you call a Sneakerhead lol I do like Skechers as well. I like the go walk line

    It's funny - in my shoe size (10.5), the Skechers is coming up $75 on Amazon and the Merrell is only $57.95.

    • @KeithBlade
      @KeithBlade  3 года назад +1

      Yeah some of the listings on Amazon vary wildly with prices. I think I paid around $50 on Amazon for the Skechers but you'll see the prices go up and down often.

    sketchers are very comfortable but they literally fall apart like VERY quickly

    • @KeithBlade
      @KeithBlade  10 месяцев назад

      That is normally absolutely true, but these Skecher Mountain Tops have blown me away with how long they last, seems like their hard rubber soles are very long lasting

      @@KeithBlade for me the sketchers that I have tried fall apart on the uppers, they always just start falling apart at the seams. back in the day we would make fun of people that had busted seams and call it a blow out ha but yeah the outsoles for me on sketchers always last they just wont stay sewn together, i finally quit buying them because they wouldnt even last a couple months

  • @millionairebillionairetril3937

    i had merrell and last for 7 years until now. Skechers lasts 6 years but the memory foam are not equal to walk

    Merrell jungle mocs do not breathe at all and they are not hiking shoes. These are "running errands" shoes. If you are wearing these, you are not "hiking".

    • @karlroberts3179
      @karlroberts3179 2 года назад +4

      I’ve easily done 10km+ hikes in mine…. on designated hiking trails, and over rough terrain, up and down steep inclines.
      That are also good for errands.
      I agree about lack of breathability.

    • @KeithBlade
      @KeithBlade  2 года назад +1

      The Skechers in this video are more breathable than the Merrell
