Hi mate. Thanks for censoring scantly-clad girls! Otherwise I tend to scroll away or at least look away to protect my soul (I'm a Christian). And thanks for your recent Shuai Jiao video. As someone who's trained Judo and now looking to compliment my no-gi JJ ground game with takedowns, it was very interesting to learn about Chinese wrestling. BTW Do you have any videos explaining your martial arts background? Peace be with you mate :)
You can tell "Bruce" fought before. He's got timing, counters, he can pivot and frame off the opponent. He's even catching the guy with those silly haymakers, because his range is good. Are his hands stupidly low even at times when he can't afford it? Yeah. But you can just tell he's done this in the past.
@@Bartron_Flat_Earth "styles don't exist for us to make then work" Bro? No martial art is simple, but if i had to choose a simple and "basic" one, it would probably be boxing, with that in mind, you can ask any good boxing coach and they will say that you are wrongvat saying that styles aren't there for us to make them work. They DO NOT work on their own. Just look at Taekwondo, the only people that can use only that martial art to win fights are the ones that have trained to make it work, if you only learn how to do it's techniques but do not know anything else, you can't use the art properly. Just look at Boxing's most used attack, the jab! It is very basic (most of the time) and yet you gotta learn how to adapt it to your style and plan, you gotta search for things about the jab that you can change in order for it to prove useful to you. It's hard to explain this correctly, maybe i'm using the wrong words, but you *do* have to make them "work"
@@jestfullgremblim8002 You say we can make "any" fighting style work, fighting arts help you... you train properly and you would be a decent fighter at least. If is not a good fighting style it would never help you
He's a "hobbyist", but he has the reaction time, timing, and range- to recognize the opponent's advance and intercept/stuff his leg with shin kicks. He also kicked the support leg out from under the Muay Thai hobbyist while he was trying to execute a roundhouse. He had the sense of distance to keep himself out of the opponent's range, but also knew how to recognize when to close the gap and enter. His hands were heavy and also very accurate. I suppose if you're a hobbyist, you do it for the love of it.. and I guess if you love it, you learn to do it in a way that you can represent yourself well. His cardio wasn't great, but he kept knocking that Muay Thai kid to the ground with those surprisingly accurate punches to the face. People might criticize him for having his hands down- but when did he get hit with anything significant..? AMAZING showing by the Kung Fu hobbyist!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
From 0:57 - 1:03, if you slow down the footage, you can see that Li Shun Gen was able to catch him and control him with his hands to prevent getting hit by a flurry of punches. That's actually really impressive, I don't see a lot of people doing that these days, most just cover up and hope for the best.
Hey Savate practitioner here. For those who don't know, in Savate, fighters wear shoes -- actually, it's the only part you're allowed to kick with as it is illegal to strike with the shin or the knee. In this fight, we can see this rule is not enforced but on several instances the referee gestures and gives warnings that are those of the Savate ruleset such as at 1:45 or 3:15 (leg grab -- illegal) or at 3:45 (clinching -- illegal). Also I noticed the JKD guy uses a lot of side kicks ("chassé latéral") especially low side kicks. We know that JKD kicks and Savate kicks have a lot in common so I don't know maybe the JKD guy wanted to fight with shoes on and since there's no JKD competition (not that I know of) the organization decided to have this tournament under Savate rules with a "loose" interpretation so as not to put the Muay Thai guy at a disadvantage. Interestingly, a few years ago, the Chinese promotion KFWC (Kung Fu World Cup) created their own Savate league with the same "loose" rules i.e. tolerance for shins (still no knees though). If you're interested, search KFWC Savate Pro. Anyway thanks for the videos, great channel.
Savate is one of my favorite styles to watch, when I think of how kick boxing should really look it’s savate that comes to mind, loose swift crisp strikes while maintaining great movement and footwork. Not to mention savate fighters have their boxing fundamentals down pat. Lots of but not all kick boxers get sloppy with their boxing.
i love how kung fu CHEF intercepts with the hook and jab absolutely perfection!! his fall kicks are hilarious but he got hella great hands!!!! truly this man got the fighter instinct and IQ
Whats funny is, in the dragon, the bruce lee story biopic movie, when bruce leaves hong kong to san francisco he works as a chef in a chinese restaurant. Dudes living out his idols life xD
Li Shun Gen gassed himself out pretty bad, but he still had some good technique, even with the unnecessary risks he kept taking that probably just tired himself out more. But it's a great show of fighting spirit that he'd rather keep swinging hard than to start pulling back to sustain himself while holding his points lead.
I think he was certainly tired, but I like to think he exaggerated it, because the Muay Thai bloke started trying to capitalise on it and kept getting wrecked. 😂
Finally, someone showcased how Jeet kune do will be applicable, not just he show JKD but also the application of drunken master kung fu way where you can use it when you'll be exhausted.

Only the RUclipsr Guy who posted this video said it was a Muay Thai guy. There s no Muay Thai guy at all!!!! Where did he picked up this was Muay Thai???
End of the third round I said out loud "oh my god he's winning on points and he can't breathe." I gotta admit when he finally got that sweep in I cheered for him. I bet he fought a lot in the 80s.
Here's a good Dan Hardy quote that alot of jkd people online should think about carefully. I always say I practice jkd/mma and it fits with this line of thinking. You are correct that this guy is playing homage to Bruce Lee, but there is no JKD here outside of maybe a few moves. I think from other videos on this channel that this guy does drunken boxing. He seems to have added a few moves from JKD into his Kung Fu, but he is certainly not fighting in a base JKD way.
Hey Jerry! I think this is the second time you've talked about getting sick from the thing we can't talk about, I hope you're okay! Don't want to be a downer but they say subsequent infections can do cumulative damage, leading to each time having a higher chance of ending up with long-REDACTED each time, and to higher vulnerability to future infection, so I hope you're keeping safe and being extra careful as much as possible, and hope you're feeling back up to 100% soon! The combination of the savate shirt and the kicking with shoes makes me wonder if that is in fact intentional, but it could just as easily be two coincidental strange things lol. Are rash guards unpleasant/not breathable to fight in? In women's mma, some of them wear more fully covering tops that I'd assumed were rash guards, but I don't know maybe it's a different type of material? Of course comments are full of "tHaT's NoT mUaY ThAi," like yes it is, the guy's not good at it but if he trains with muay thai training methods then it's just bad muay thai, but still muay thai. People who don't get that have a fundamental misunderstanding of what different martial arts styles ARE. Thanks as always for the vid, it was a fun one to watch, and again hope you feel better soon!
These days people are encouraged to identify as whatever they feel like so this guy woke up deciding he is a Muay Thai fighter and challenged a JKD hobbyist. Either that or he just signed up that day for Muay Thai classes and accepted the challenge to represent his school vs the JKD hobbyist.
This kung fu hobbyist is always great to see. My man was gassed out but still manhandled his oponent (who was bad, but still). Also I liked this muppet voiced, troll Jerry, made me laugh a lot making me imagine the usual detracting comments in those voices 😆
I'll never understand the mentality of someone that thinks "I've studied Muay Thai/boxing/kickboxing/karate etc. for three months, now's the time for a televised full contact fight."
I can understand it. Some people just want to challenge themselves even if they’re not completely ready. It’s very inherent in the human mind. It’s what drove our ancestors to slowly migrate away from their tribes. Since the world is much more safe now and sedentary, people take that old mentality and channel it in other ways. Sometimes it’s cringe like some of the fights we cover.
Eso no es JKD no lo veo por ningún sitio, solo veo a un tipo desonrando al maestro Lee. El tao del keet kune do claramente dice: rapidez, fluidez, simpleza y espontaneidad y eso no lo veo mucho
This guy is awesome. And for the people who said real JKD is not this, it's more like that when their stuffs is not even used in the cage, those guys don't even know true JKD looks like. Basically everytime Jones poke people in the eyes and stomp their knee cap, that's real JKD in the cage
@@gi7685 Don't put words into my mouth please. I never said any of that Jones's tactic is the most "JKD things" ever existed inside the cage and not some shitty Wing Chun that so called "JKD practitioners " show off every time. That's it, that's all I was implying about. Even when the man has never done JKD, what he did is still what JKD teach and he's the only few people use it in the cage, as proof how JKD suppose to look like inside competition
@@Olishanta yes I know it's not JKD, he's just copying moves from Bruce's movies. I was criticizing people who said this is not real and that is not real while the stuffs that they trained in are not real JKD either, and they can't even handle stress on the ring like half of what this man could.
@@Bartron_Flat_Earth I mean he had his flaws and stuff but he did better than most kung fu fighters he actually was better than all of them that I seen so far on this channel
I don't see any Muay Thai. Just random punches and kicks from like a first time fighter. His only edge was he was young and had endurance. The old guy, was just ok, he's not even good. But he was able to do some technical stuff simply because he practiced it for a long time. But as demonstrated, it didn't seem to dent the younger kid. It was truly entertaining. My stuff to look out for anyone who does Muay Thai 1. Front teep 2. Leg kick 3. A stiff jab cross 4. Cross is normally stiff because it can be transitioned to elbows. I.e. Liam v panchemec (ok not sure with spelling) 5. Clinch 6. Knees/elbows So probably rules? Still, front kick, long guard, stiff cross, leg kicks, knees were missing. So I feel like the Mt guy was just a brawler. The jkd guy, side kick was there. But, why no jab x back fist? His turning was funny and was more funny because it hit the Mt guy. Over all good fight. Id argue it does not represent mt and jkd but two ppl who are just out to vent ideas.
I'd like to see a younger guy in good shape fighting in this style. This is surprisingly close to what Hong Kong cinema showed and it worked, only those roll-on-the-ground kicks really worn out the older guy. He would have been better off without them, but someone young and really fit perhaps could have used them with success.
In a standing up sport as kickboxing (we can call this kickboxing as a broad general term) dropping kicks shouldn't be allowed. It's very easy to dive into your opponent feet first while throwing your torso on the mat where you're safe of any legal hits. It's an unfair advantage and will easily turn into an infamous Ali - Inoki farce.
I find it funny that the yellow and black suit became a staple of the Bruce Lee mythos, and the way he got that suit was by stealing it from some bikers to disguise as them. (although this was the Game of Death and that is probably a back story added when releasing the film with Bruce Lee gone.)
NGL, round 3 started to look like WWE how someone would always fall to the ground, then the struggle to stand. Very entertaining! Even the bounce off the ropes at 7:56 was awesome!
0:49 "If someone says jkd is different from this or different from that, then let the name jkd be wiped out." - Bruce Lee. People who say this don't get it
Well, the guy still needed work. He's like a JKD imitator with some fragments of JKD in there. but he's not deep into the sweet science of boxing as you can see. To do well in JKD one has to be very good at boxing and very good at wing chun, with the JKD principles applied. This guy is a bit sloppy but he has some decent fundamentals.
@@jkdfighter4964 yeah he wasn't very good, he had horrible boxing mechanics and swung wide haymakers. He's missing fundamentals and has alot of technical problems
@@Bartron_Flat_Earth Why no Wing Chun? Wing Chun by itself is difficult, but Wing Chun when properly mixed into another art system is very effective and almost borderline cheap. Why no Wing Chun? What do you know about it?
@@jkdfighter4964 JKD was always evolving... last evolution by Bruce was JKD being Fencing with feet and hands. Jesse Glover said that, and iirc Ted Wong too, the last student. So with WC u r just gonna waste time
Game of Death cosplay did a good effort. He needs to run, jump rope, row or a little bit of crossfit. I wondering if Li Shun was acting tired as part of a trolling act?
Benny the Jets style was influenced by Bruce Lee so the JKD argument goes out the window when it’s someone in shape throwing side kicks off the lead leg
I mean...just because you use something or purport to use something in the ring doesn't mean its automatically the pinnacle example of that martial art. If you butt-scooted throughout a BJJ match you're still doing BJJ but people would call you a fucking clown
age difference too, still some interesting application of JKD. His movement seems to involve a bit of drunken boxing or something. The way he appeared tired but his punch speed and reaction speed did not decrease in all 3 rounds. Did he played a psychological game?
Maybe? Seemed more like a way to recover some energy in the lower intensity moments of the fight. Also he still struggled to even walk to the referee at the end so i think he was legit getting tired as hell.
This Kung Fu hobbyist better give up fighting in the ring. It looks like he nearly had a heart attack at the end of the 2nd round. Stamina wise, he is certainly out of shape.
The muay thai guy is a baby in muay thai, and the kungfu guy is one of the greatest kung guys who ever stepped in the ring, well, except wushu xanda or somethings like that cause those are kickboxing type more functional kung-fu
The 'Muay Thai' guy just sucks. If it was a seasoned guy, the kung-fu guy would be down in 5 seconds. This 'fight' is a joke. (Edit: I do give the kung-fu guy some credit for the throw down)
I would love to be able to put my JKD and Wing Chun and Snake Kung Fu and muay Thai and Brazilian jujitsu and boxing in the ring and put them to another wonderful test! I train everyday doing fingered push-ups and hitting trees and very hard objects and I've fought my whole life in street fights and against a few Martial artists too and I would love to do thiss! I can punch 10 punches in just under 1 second! I posted videos on my RUclips channel too!

Sometimes it’s cringe like some of the fights we cover.
@@FightCommentary I just think it's unnecessarily dangerous, but then, I suppose I'm a very risk adverse guy.
He won the freaking fight!
@@gi7685 Don't put words into my mouth please. I never said any of that
Jones's tactic is the most "JKD things" ever existed inside the cage and not some shitty Wing Chun that so called "JKD practitioners " show off every time. That's it, that's all I was implying about. Even when the man has never done JKD, what he did is still what JKD teach and he's the only few people use it in the cage, as proof how JKD suppose to look like inside competition
This guy isn't doing JKD. It looks more like drunken boxing with a couple of JKD moves added in to support the costume gimmick.
@@Olishanta yes I know it's not JKD, he's just copying moves from Bruce's movies. I was criticizing people who said this is not real and that is not real while the stuffs that they trained in are not real JKD either, and they can't even handle stress on the ring like half of what this man could.
Bruce Lee having a mid-life crisis.
Probably the most FUN fight ever seen. Can that be a thing?
Actually a decent jkd fighter I can’t even lie
Agree
An almost decent fighter... but not a JKD fighter 😆
@@Bartron_Flat_Earth I mean he had his flaws and stuff but he did better than most kung fu fighters he actually was better than all of them that I seen so far on this channel
Of all the bruce lee cosplayer fighters that failed, 1 finally succeeded 😄🎉🎊.
You have a great Ramsey Dewey voice.
Thank you for sharing ☺️.
With some cardio training the kung fu dude would be super entertaining
Agree
title should have been "two clowns flail until exhaustion"...
That clown can beat every kung fu master in China XD
Looks crazy 🤣 where did you dig this out 😅
Through hours of searching. If you like this stuff, please consider being a channel member.
My stuff to look out for anyone who does Muay Thai
1. Front teep
2. Leg kick
3. A stiff jab cross
4. Cross is normally stiff because it can be transitioned to elbows. I.e. Liam v panchemec (ok not sure with spelling)
5. Clinch
6. Knees/elbows
So probably rules? Still, front kick, long guard, stiff cross, leg kicks, knees were missing.
So I feel like the Mt guy was just a brawler.
The jkd guy, side kick was there. But, why no jab x back fist?
His turning was funny and was more funny because it hit the Mt guy.
Over all good fight. Id argue it does not represent mt and jkd but two ppl who are just out to vent ideas.
his kicks were too snappy and no power. def not MT
This kung fu guy killed it. Muay thai guy showed toughness and this was a great amateur fight
Kung Fu??? I don't see any kung Fu
I see two guys
I'm a ridiculous performance
If you see Kung Fu
Maybe you are watching the wrong video
@@vileevil47gonzalez92 have you ever fought before?
@@vileevil47gonzalez92 and no you sir are not a ridiculous performance!!! Your a beautiful soul damnit you deserve to be loved!!😭
@@peytonlacroix6333 yes
@@peytonlacroix6333 jajajaja 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I don't think these two together could take out a Muy Thai fighter.
Muay Thai has a lot of styles but this is one I've never seen...
JKD DUDE CAN FIGHT, BUT THE BREATH CONTROL IS NULL 👍
I find it funny that the yellow and black suit became a staple of the Bruce Lee mythos, and the way he got that suit was by stealing it from some bikers to disguise as them. (although this was the Game of Death and that is probably a back story added when releasing the film with Bruce Lee gone.)
NGL, round 3 started to look like WWE how someone would always fall to the ground, then the struggle to stand. Very entertaining! Even the bounce off the ropes at 7:56 was awesome!
You should do a video where it's you and "ramsey dewey" talking like you're the ringside announcers.
Is the Ramsey voice the same voice of the MindSmach voice? Are you 3 all one and the same?
🤯
Wait... did i just see, for the first time ever, a "Superman backfist"? (About 40 seconds into your video)
You definitely did
The ref has a savate way of walking. He knows what savate is.
haha! Very entertaining match to commentate. Fave part is your comment about being kinda troll'ish you sounded very Adam Sandler-ish ^___^
I have Adam Sandler’s movie Anger Management in my to watch list.
@@jkdfighter4964 No, no need of Wing Chun
@@Bartron_Flat_Earth Why no Wing Chun? Wing Chun by itself is difficult, but Wing Chun when properly mixed into another art system is very effective and almost borderline cheap. Why no Wing Chun? What do you know about it?
@@jkdfighter4964 JKD was always evolving... last evolution by Bruce was JKD being Fencing with feet and hands. Jesse Glover said that, and iirc Ted Wong too, the last student. So with WC u r just gonna waste time
I think the Ref is wearing a Savate shirt because they are fighting under hybrid rules including Savate because Shoes are allowed.
What are you doing blurring out the ring girls? 😒😔😞☹️😫😭
when hobbyist meet hobbyist
If only the yellow fighter had good cardio, he could win the match
Game of Death cosplay did a good effort. He needs to run, jump rope, row or a little bit of crossfit. I wondering if Li Shun was acting tired as part of a trolling act?
Maybe a variation of Drunken Kung Fu ?
lol, the promo photo banners in the background has the Muay Thai fighter in the same t-shirt like they took the photo 5 mins before the fight.
Benny the Jets style was influenced by Bruce Lee so the JKD argument goes out the window when it’s someone in shape throwing side kicks off the lead leg
OMG he’s wearing yellow with black line ،wanna make himself Bruce Lee 😂✌️
What's the piano song?
I mean...just because you use something or purport to use something in the ring doesn't mean its automatically the pinnacle example of that martial art. If you butt-scooted throughout a BJJ match you're still doing BJJ but people would call you a fucking clown
This was like a street brawl and a wrestling match of sorts LOL
Whatya got against ring girls?
Kungfu guy totally gased himself windmilling.. it takes more energy to windmill than to have a little form.
cant stop laughing at the kung fu guy...
age difference too, still some interesting application of JKD.
If someone wears the yellow suit unironically, clearly doesn't know anything about JKD
You sound like a fanboy to JKD I don’t think anybody cares if he knows anything about it or not
Where's the JKD???
What fight promotion is this?
Who hosts these fights. Getting random personalities to fight each other seems rather amusing.
This Kung Fu hobbyist better give up fighting in the ring. It looks like he nearly had a heart attack at the end of the 2nd round. Stamina wise, he is certainly out of shape.
I have zero problems understanding you
2:37 why is she wearing the Polish coat of arms? lmao
It’s cultural appropriation but done ignorantly 😂😂
@@FightCommentary MY NATION IS NOT YOUR DECORATION! 😂😂😂
They are both hobbyists, what did we think was gonna happen.
Don’t disrespect hobbyist like that 😂 Kung Fu guy yes MT couldn’t have trained a year
troll mode? you can learn the name of the moves in karate and use them during kung fu matches and vice versa just to troll people, I'd do that.
Kudos to 李顺根 for his determination!
The muay thai guy is a baby in muay thai, and the kungfu guy is one of the greatest kung guys who ever stepped in the ring, well, except wushu xanda or somethings like that cause those are kickboxing type more functional kung-fu
He did great as an amateur. If he works on his stamina he could show more techniques. And he won 😀 so congratulations to him.
kung fu guys has the same beat down dark blue high top converse sneakers i have.
maybe i should start entering a arena
Lmao the Ramsey Dewey impression
idk, but that jumpsuit probably gonna be hot as hell.
The 'Muay Thai' guy just sucks. If it was a seasoned guy, the kung-fu guy would be down in 5 seconds. This 'fight' is a joke.
(Edit: I do give the kung-fu guy some credit for the throw down)
Why are they in shoes???
Please for gods sake STOP calling him a Muay Thai guy. Absolutely nothing about anything he has done even remotely resembles Muaythai!
I still haven't seen any Muay Thai yet. That guys looks like he got his fighting style from George Dillman
The death-game suit compresses the muscles. Good if your pudgy, like he is.
"sleepy boxing" style Kung Fu
Go Li Shun Gen! He got an eye 4 fighting. He should do some boxing 4 better balance & punches tho. JKD do boxing.
I would love to put my JKD in the ring like thiss and where do these kind of things take place because I love I'm new york in the United States
This is more a Savate fight than the Muay Thai fight
Dude sounds like he has some good mandarin. Muay thai guy, what a name. Lol
Wow... this was almost brawling.🤣
