      I bought a 2000 GTS in November with 172,000km!
      And two summers ago a 1994 GT with 94,000km!
      Both engines drive awesomely!
      I'm very impressed with Toyota!

    I own and drive in France and Switzerland the 143bhp vvti version almost 210000 km already. Since 2000 . Great car ! Still running strong! cool look Reliability and a very practical car altogether

    I have a 2001 GT that I have owned since 2005. I have another 2001 GT that I restored that use to be my sisters and now I have 2 Celicas. Love my Celicas. They are so much fun and incredibly reliable.

    Glad I came across this video,very informative. 2000 GT-S 2zzz-ge 215.000 miles. Wants to stall at high RPMs. Going to try cleaning the OCV see if that's causing my problem. Runs great until I red l red line.. Thanks For Sharing ..

    Estaba checando un dato en internet sobre el motor de la versión GT , investigué por qué he escuchado que muchos dicen que esta versión tiene motor de Corolla 🤔🤔, entonces revisé las especificaciones de ambos motores y me llevé una sorpresa , los dos tienen el motor (1zz fe ) pero resulta que el motor del corolla tiene menos caballaje que el del Celica , el del corolla es de 126 HP , mientras que el del Celica viene con 143 HP , sin menciónar que el Celica pesa menos que el Toyota Corolla, por lo tanto, el Celica tiene una clara ventaja en cuanto a rendimiento por ser más liviano y por tener un motor de 143 hp , así que me di cuenta que ambos motores se parecen por ser de 1.8 y por qué se llaman igual ,(1zz fe) . Pero no son del todo iguales como muchos piensan , incluso me di cuenta que la araña del motor del Corolla es un poco más pequeña que la del motor del celica , muy similar cuando comparamos el motor de la versión GTS vs GT , digo similar por qué no hay tanta diferencia , pero de qué la hay , la hay , saludos

      El de celica tiene más caballos por qué su intake está hecho diferente es de material como plástico pero no solo eso es que la computadora del celica la programaron más agresiva usa un Mapa distinto a la de Corolla, por eso muchos usuarios de Corolla cambian la araña de celica y su computadora y el cambio es evidente al guiarlo. Yo tengo un Corolla 2001 y le acabo de sacar el 1zzfe y le monte un 2zzge.

      @@yosoydpfknr2855 una pregunta, ahora que aclaraste ese detalle ...si yo tengo un Toyota celica GT ,osea con motor 1zzfe de cuatro velocidades ( automático ), podría instalar el 2zz automático ? tanto el gts como gt tienen transmisiones de 4 velocidades por ser la versión automática , , entonces la pregunta es mi transmisión puede funcionar con un motor 2zz (versión automática) ? O habría que cambiar motor ,transmisión y compu ? Tengo esa duda , ya que aveces me llama la atención el cambio de motor por la cuestión de que el 1zzfe es más gastalon de aceite , y por eso me gustaría el cambio mas que nada , saludos

    Definitivamente ahora menos suelto este palomo me encariñe con el porque lo compre averiado del motor y sin ser mecánico aunque viendo tutoriales en esta plataforma le desarme el motor encontrando una biela rota y otra torcida y con la araña llena de agua, me anime a acer el pedido de las partes en la agencia y en resumen a como lo desarme lo arme ase ya 3 años y sigue corriendo como mitote sin darme lata, agradecido por la información compartida camarada.

    I have two '03 Celicas, both with the 1zz. Same engine as the Corolla, which means they are slow but reliable

      you can manually shift going from L, to 2, to D and then releasing the O/D button so that you can rev higher and go faster. If you simply leave it on D with the O/D button engaged its not as fast. However, they are fun, they handle amazing.

    Ha funny they are comparing these new motors to a stock corolla n camry engine. The 3sfe came jn SS1 6gc but the 3SGE came with 177 or 197hp n more torque than 2zz

    I didn't know the VVT-I was actually designed to kick in at 6200 rpm. i was told it was at around 4500k to 5000k. i seldom ever rev it high enough to notice. i guess i will now!

      Depends on the year range too. The rev limiters were set at various rpm ranges.
      A lot of this was due to US smog emissions compliance in the early 2000s as a result of the crack down of the late 90s.

      Allbert Enriquez Can be fixed by different piston rings, but still. No one should have to do that in the first place. The 1ZZ also has some of the weakest internals I've ever seen, too.

      was fixed after 2002. 03-08 engines dont have the oil consumption issue of the 98-02 non vvti engines..

      Because it's a derivative of 2 different Latin words & meanings. Therefore technically has no proper pronunciation.
      Different people just have different ways of saying words.

    1ZZ is a complete waste of time. Not enough power and stupid ring design. I had a Celica 1ZZ; absolutely fantastic handling because it's so wide and low and light but the engine was a bore and I got fed up feeding it with oil - it eventually failed on its emissions and I couldn't be bothered spending to fix it. I would buy a good 2ZZ Celica any time.

      Alvaro Lopez When I had my year 2000 GT I smoked a late 1960s Cougar with a V8 till we got to about 80 mph and he pulled away.. I had to slow down because we did it on a 35 mph main street in a small town 😂 Lucky we didnt get busted! 😜👮‍♂️
