ADRIAN CURIEL HD Sweet deals! I bought a 2000 GTS in November with 172,000km! And two summers ago a 1994 GT with 94,000km! Both engines drive awesomely! I'm very impressed with Toyota!

O habría que cambiar motor ,transmisión y compu ? you can manually shift going from L, to 2, to D and then releasing the O/D button so that you can rev higher and go faster. If you simply leave it on D with the O/D button engaged its not as fast. However, they are fun, they handle amazing.
Ha funny they are comparing these new motors to a stock corolla n camry engine. The 3sfe came jn SS1 6gc but the 3SGE came with 177 or 197hp n more torque than 2zz
I didn't know the VVT-I was actually designed to kick in at 6200 rpm. i was told it was at around 4500k to 5000k. i seldom ever rev it high enough to notice. i guess i will now!
Depends on the year range too. The rev limiters were set at various rpm ranges. A lot of this was due to US smog emissions compliance in the early 2000s as a result of the crack down of the late 90s.
Allbert Enriquez Can be fixed by different piston rings, but still. No one should have to do that in the first place. The 1ZZ also has some of the weakest internals I've ever seen, too.
Because it's a derivative of 2 different Latin words & meanings. Therefore technically has no proper pronunciation. Different people just have different ways of saying words.
1ZZ is a complete waste of time. Not enough power and stupid ring design. I had a Celica 1ZZ; absolutely fantastic handling because it's so wide and low and light but the engine was a bore and I got fed up feeding it with oil - it eventually failed on its emissions and I couldn't be bothered spending to fix it. I would buy a good 2ZZ Celica any time.
No its not gils car.I have one and I am not a girl . So thats not true statement. Very reliable and good feeling on the road like a lot more expensive car...Celicas are nice
Alvaro Lopez When I had my year 2000 GT I smoked a late 1960s Cougar with a V8 till we got to about 80 mph and he pulled away.. I had to slow down because we did it on a 35 mph main street in a small town 😂 Lucky we didnt get busted! 😜👮♂️

Love that. Maintain it and don’t over rev it, looks like it is still a Toyota after all
My '02 GT-S currently has 402K miles with the original engine, transmission and clutch and still kick ass.

Scotty Kilmer's dream sequence
2 of the best motors that Toyota ever built. A shame that they were discontinued.
it was even done for the Lotus Elise as well
Nehal Mascarenhas nah 3SGE was better
truly some of the best, My corolla has over 600k miles on the original engine! 1zz is king. (well unless your talking about horsepower)
LEMBOCHI PRODUCTIONS wait whats the difference?
Burned Aura motors are electric, engines are combustion of some type
Love my GTS even more

VVTL-i will kick at 6200, VVT-i will not
Depends on the year range too. The rev limiters were set at various rpm ranges.
A lot of this was due to US smog emissions compliance in the early 2000s as a result of the crack down of the late 90s.
Ive got one but it could be faster. Wish it came with a Turbo.
The 2zz wasn't made to handle boost
I WISHD ID HAD SOME DAY 2 CELICAS
Little did they know that the 1zz will drink oil just as much as gas 2nd engine swap still burns oil
Allbert Enriquez that could be easily fixed.

was fixed after 2002. 03-08 engines dont have the oil consumption issue of the 98-02 non vvti engines..
Shouldve swapped into a 2zz lol
Albert Enriquez many Toyota engines are like that. Not sure about the recent stuff. But I had 2 7afe that did
Why is it that Americans can't pronounce Celica properly?
Itsmeeman1 Sel E Ca? Opposed to Ce Le Ca
Because it's a derivative of 2 different Latin words & meanings. Therefore technically has no proper pronunciation.
Different people just have different ways of saying words.
Because most Americans can't pronounce most words correctly... E.G. Aluminium, route, router, Celica...
If you want the correct pronunciation it's right here in this video, same as the Japanese pronunciation.
Woveeee awesome proud to be, still i have vvtli
thanks
269k kilometers here
The only thing that made 2ZZ GE imperfect was Toyota didn't put D4S Direct Injection in it
the engine developed way earlier bro 98-99
Better without direct injection. No carbon build up means more power for longer and less maintenance.
My 00 celicas engine blew up 4 months after I bought it. It had 100,000km
How many owners did it have?
