One of Saskatchewan’s great shames. Thinking of all those who have gone through this, words will never be enough to apologize for how Indigenous peoples have been and continue to be treated

Oh the police aren’t apologizing either, it’s quite telling how there’s a black history month but no native history month. Why is that? Because the population doesn’t want a native history month, because they low key hate natives. I’m not wrong, beat around the bush all anyone wants but, whites hate natives

During my years in social work most of my clients were Indigenous and they worked harder and were more successful than most of my white clients. Even though I am white, my Indigenous clients treated me like family. I absolutely adored them, was so proud of them, and I will miss them forever. People who are racist towards them have no clue what they are missing by not getting to know them.

Justice for the Indigenous people of Canada.
My first boyfriend was Anishinaabe from Manitoulin Island; I was told by many people he and his family were no good. My parents liked him and never said anything bad about him. I didn't understand the prejudice until I left and moved back as an adult. It's absolutely heartbreaking. This is happening in the US too and we need to stand beside our brothers and sisters and make change. I'm not indigenous but we're all human beings.

Well I see a lot of white alcoholics and drug addicts, many more than native. On the praries there are large populations of Native American so it seems that there are more of them that drink but this is not accurate.

Thank goodness Darryl survived and was pulled over by a police officer who stuck to his word when he asked for time to look into what had happened. I’m from the Scottish highlands and never knew about this story - I was 23 in 2000. I was aware of First Nations women going missing and the police doing bugger all to look into it. So sad that some officers are willing to act like complete bastards and taint the decent guys. I hope things have improved but I’m not convinced this doesn’t still happen in every area where First Nations people live.

In some casses there would be no way to know if someone got drunk or high and passed out if the cops left them as there would be no witneses. I found my brother barefoot in the snow at 10pm. If my window was up or i was listening to music and i didnt hear him he would of froze to death. He had an angel that night.

Racism is widespread in the police force. Oh they say that it won’t be tolerated but when not speaking in front of the television cameras it is common practice. An immigrant man from Southeast Asia was driven miles up the mountain and kicked out of the police car without clothing and left there to find his way out stark naked in the middle of the night. The police employees drove away laughing.
