I played this game a lot as a kid. Loved it, but could never get very far (you know, cuz money). I'd get a little farther each time, but never really made it to the end by myself. And then a fateful day happened. I wandered up to the game. Two other guys came up, and then a third. We all joined in. Now, I'd played with others before, but this was something special. We all synced. Like we'd been playing together for years. Pizzas weren't bum-rushed, and they went to the guy most in need. Flanks were watched. The Foot never got the chance to completely surround us. We kicked ass, right through the end. I maybe had to rebuy in once the entire run. When it was over, we all clapped hands together, and went about our lives. In the long run, it meant very little except as a fond memory. But to a young kid, it meant everything in that moment. Arcades truly were a special place.
I just realized the lives on the turtles are 12, 28, 19, 87... Meaning that the TV series started airing weekly on December 28, 1987 (not counting the pilot)
Keoki Wood You aren’t wrong - this one’s an updated version of a prior run, and whatever emulator was used for that emulated all the sounds much better. That’s the price of progress, I guess...
@@JigokurakuMakai777 The Mega Drive can do much better than this (ie, Hyperstone Heist, which sounds very close to the original TMNT Turtles in Time arcade and features dual PCM.)
I remember playing the arcade at a local pub (whenever my parents took us there for a treat/dinner) but I mostly played the NES port over and over and over again. I loved this game as a kid.
7:20 Anyone notice they get into the van...only to immediately leap out of it?

I remember in a previous encode there was still the quiet music but still with the other voices and stuff. This encode feels like the music and some sounds are different, it's also missing some music notes.

Anyone noticed an extra head on Donatello's leg at 7:33? Look closely at that quick glance just before they say "WE'VE GOT TO SAVE SPLINTER!"
yes!!!!

⚠ You are missing a SN76489 or compatible sound co-processor for this game. Music and sounds may not play correctly.
The Raphael hate is overwhelming in this run. Slanderous even.
You know, I remeber the game sounding much better in my memory back when I played it in an arcade....
Probably because of the ambient noise from other machines. That's my guess.

It's this emulator that makes the game sound like shit.
Sounds like Sega Genesis music

Krang: I am invincible
12:25 whoops.
This speedrun went by so quickly, the drummer couldn't even make it to the studio in time.
You can barely hear part of the drums on the right channel. Really bad sound emu.
0:42 Wow...that _was_ a nice apartment. Full of stuff. I hope her insurance covers all this...

The Quiet and Efficient Ninja Turtles.
The Trapcorp sign hides a trap behind it. Pretty clever!
I like how it was Mike who went to twitch on top on April
What happened to the drums, orch hits, etc? And why are the speech samples much louder than the rest of the game?

Raphael is majority of us in a group work. LOL
Lol even the TAS bot knows Raphael is virtually worthless
The audio is completely different than the actual game.
no it isn't
@@KamalasFakePolls Yes it is. Drums and Orchestra hits are gone, music is quieter, and voice samples are much louder
why you can with only one player

Keep pressing start button to get unlimited credit without inserting coins
Just the same move forever...
And Raphael was a long for the ride. Lmao
Pretty much just 12 minutes of destruction lol. I think a 1 player TAS would be a bit more interesting.
